The scent of premium, gold-leaf chamomile tea wafted through the private royal study, but the atmosphere inside was anything but relaxing.
Three high-demon nobles dressed in extravagant, silk-trimmed velvet robes sat across from the grand desk. These were the traditionalists of the upper court, wealthy aristocrats who owned sprawling estates in the northern volcanic ridges and had spent decades living off the taxes of the lower labor classes.
"With all due respect, Sovereign Regent," Lord Zephyrus, the oldest noble of the group, sighed condescendingly as he took a slow, deliberate sip from his porcelain cup. "Governing a kingdom requires a delicate hand and ancestral wisdom. Your new decree to allocate funds directly to the lower sectors is causing significant distress among the noble families. You are young, Prince Raizael. You should allow us, the council of elders, to guide your hand on how to properly run this kingdom."
Raizael sat relaxed in his high-backed leather chair, his fingers loosely interlocked on the desk. He didn't interrupt immediately. He simply stared at them, his realistic, toned-down crimson eyes narrowing into a cold, terrifyingly sharp focus as his passive skill, [Sovereign’s Gaze], activated subtly.
Before Lord Zephyrus could lift his cup for another sip, Raizael let out a soft, mocking chuckle that cut through the room like a frozen blade.
"Guidance?" Raizael murmured, leaning forward, the shadow of his broad shoulders instantly towering over the desk. "You sit in my sanctuary and offer me advice on how to run a kingdom? Tell me, my lords... what exactly is your ancestral wisdom based on? All you and your families have done for the past few years is lounge inside your luxurious, heavily fortified castles, drinking your ridiculously expensive beverages while the outer estates rot."
The second noble, a younger lord with curved black horns, slammed his fist onto the armrest. "Your Highness! We are the high-blood lineage of Malgora! We provide the economic foundation—"
"You provide nothing but administrative fat," Raizael interrupted, his deep baritone voice dropping into a lethal, booming octave that instantly silenced the room. "You don't fight on the front lines, you don't mine the dark magic crystals, and you certainly don't manage the supply lines. You sit on cushions. So do not dare tell me how to govern when you haven't even stepped foot in the mud of the lower trenches."
Lord Zephyrus's face turned a deep, furious shade of purple. He set his porcelain cup down with a sharp clatter, his eyes darting toward the adjoining dressing rooms before shifting to a bitter sneer. "Fine. Let us speak of the front lines, then. The high court is deeply displeased with your recent engagement, Prince Raizael. To elevate a dark elf princess, a member of a low-tier, rebellious slave clan, to the status of your royal fiancée is an absolute insult to our noble blood! They are beneath us. They are tools of labor, nothing more."
"They are the backbone of my military infrastructure," Raizael shot back, his crimson eyes flashing with an unholy, dominant intensity that physically made the nobles flinch backward into their chairs. "The dark elves, the high elves, and every other working species in this kingdom have spent years bleeding in the dirt to keep your luxurious castles safe from the human empires. From this day forward, any noble who dares to utter a single word of disrespect toward my fiancée or the working classes of Malgora will have their entire estate confiscated and turned into a public labor camp. Do I make myself perfectly clear, or do you need a practical demonstration of my authority?"
The three nobles sat completely paralyzed, their breath catching in their throats as the suffocating psychological weight of Raizael's absolute dominance crushed their remaining arrogance. Recognizing they had lost the verbal conflict entirely, they scrambled out of their chairs, bowing stiffly with sweating foreheads before rushing out of the study in a panic.
Ronin, the head butler, stepped out from the shadows near the bookshelves, let out a slow, raspy breath of administrative relief.
"A magnificent display of iron-fisted leadership, Sovereign Regent," Ronin said, adjusting his iron-rimmed spectacles as he walked back to the desk. "You have completely silenced the court. However... our verbal victories won't stop the border raids. We need to quickly resolve the problem of the goblin chieftains and the mountain ogre tribes before they entirely cut off our crystal trade routes. What is your command?"
Raizael leaned back, tapping his chin. "You've managed the castle logistics longer than I've been alive, Ronin. Tell me... what do you think we should do?"
Ronin’s eyes gleamed with a sharp, tactical intelligence. "If I may, Your Highness... the goblins and ogres are primitive, driven solely by tribal greed and hunger. Instead of wasting our elite vanguard soldiers chasing them through the jagged mountains, we should employ a asymmetrical bottleneck strategy. We manipulate the trade routes, baiting them into a single, narrow volcanic chasm. Once their main tribal hordes enter the valley to raid a 'fake' shipment... we drop the volcanic floodgates, sealing them in and neutralizing the entire threat in a single, sweeping stroke without risking a single demon life."
Raizael’s lips curled into a genuine, highly satisfied smirk. "A bottleneck purge. Tactical, ruthless, and highly efficient. I love it, Ronin. Let's execute the layout immediately—"
"RAI-ZA-EEEEEEL! MALGORA'S FAVORITE BRAT!"
Raizael's words were violently cut short as a loud, ridiculously high-pitched, and incredibly energetic voice boomed from the other side of the closed study doors.
Raizael blinked, his dominant composure faltering for a split second. “Wait... who the hell could that be?”
Before he or Ronin could even process the sudden intrusion, the massive, reinforced oak doors of the study didn't just open, they were violently blasted off their iron hinges by an absolute hurricane of explosive, chaotic wind magic!
BOOOOOOM!
"WHOAAA—!" Ronin shrieked, his pristine administrative dignity completely vaporized as the sudden, powerful gale-force wind swept through the room like a physical shockwave. The butler was lifted clean off his feet, caught in the vortex of the blast, and sailed directly out of the wide-open royal balcony window like a ragdoll.
"Ronin—!" Raizael shouted, rapidly standing up from his chair, his crimson eyes wide in absolute disbelief.
But before he could even take a single step to look out the window to see if his loyal butler had survived the fall, a sudden blur of bright, chaotic color dropped straight out of the ceiling rafters.
THUD!
With a heavy, uncoordinated impact, a voluptuous, highly energetic woman crashed directly onto his chest. The kinetic force pushed Raizael straight back down into his leather chair, the woman landing perfectly in his lap. Before he could even draw his breath, two soft, smooth arms wrapped tightly around his neck, pinning his head against her shoulder in a suffocating, aggressive hug.
"Mmph—! Let go—!" Raizael grunted, his royal armor clattering loudly as he tried to pry her off.
"Oh my gods, Raizael! You've grown so big! Look at those shoulders!" the woman squealed, completely ignoring his struggles. She pulled back slightly, her face heavily flushed with excitement as she began to frantically plant wet, sloppy, and chaotic kisses all over his cheeks, her lips smacking against his skin in a rapid-fire assault. "I missed you so, so, so much! Did you miss me?! Tell me you missed your favorite headache!"
The Sovereign Regent of Malgora sat completely trapped beneath the chaotic whirlwind of soft flesh, wild hair, and endless kisses, his calculated, dark mastermind persona thoroughly derailed by the most ridiculous intruder the castle had ever seen.
