Shane's Adam's apple bobbed. His fingers gripped the shotgun so hard his knuckles turned white. The muzzle was still pointed at Leon's chest, but the threat felt utterly hollow.

In the deathly silence, only the three corpses lying in pools of blood recounted what had just happened. It wasn't a fight; it was a massacre.

Shane considered himself the strongest man in the camp. His background as a police officer gave him a profound understanding of violence, but Leon's display exceeded his comprehension. That level of precision and timing didn't belong to a survivor. It belonged to a predator.

The scent of copper and decay wafted through the air. The survivors' expressions shifted from panic to a complex mix of fear and awe. They no longer looked at Leon as a stranger, but as a tiger that had wandered into a sheepfold.

"Damn it..." Shane rasped.

Slowly, inch by inch, he lowered the shotgun until the muzzle pointed at the dirt. It was a silent compromise.

Leon didn't react. He maintained his calm, rippleless expression as he stepped past Shane and into the sanctuary of tents and vehicles. Shane didn't move, but his muscles remained tense as he watched Leon's back.

[Ding!]

As Leon crossed the camp's perimeter, the mechanical voice rang out in his mind.

[Key plot location detected: Quarry Camp.]

[This location is a major plot turning point. Host has arrived for the first time. Would you like to perform your first check-in?]

Check in, Leon commanded internally.

[Check-in successful!]

[Congratulations to the host for obtaining unique rewards: Infinite Ammo Desert Eagle (Suppressed), Fighting Technique Mastery!]

A torrent of information surged into his brain. It wasn't just data; it was instinct. Joint locks, muscle exertion, center of gravity control, and lethal strike points merged with his muscle memory.

He suddenly possessed the experience of a thousand life-and-death battles. If the Super Physique gave him a superhuman shell, this reward gave him the soul of a master combatant.

His posture underwent a subtle change. The spacing of his feet and the set of his shoulders were now in perfect alignment, ready to explode with power at a moment's notice.

Inside his pocket, he felt a sudden weight—the cold, heavy steel of a Desert Eagle. The infinite ammo version. In a world where order had collapsed, this was the ultimate trump card.

"Leon?"

A sobbed cry broke through the gloom. Leon looked up to see a blonde girl stumbling out of a blue tent.

It was Amy. She wore a faded T-shirt and jeans, her face pale with shock. When her eyes met his, time seemed to stop. Her sapphire eyes went wide, and tears surged out instantly.

"Leon!"

She dashed toward him like a bird finding its way home. She ran unsteadily, her vision blurred by tears, but her target was clear.

Thud.

Amy lunged into his embrace, holding him with every ounce of her strength. Her soft body trembled against him. The scent of her hair, mixed with the salt of her tears, filled his senses.

The memories of the original Leon erupted in his chest. The longing and the relief of seeing her safe made him tighten his arms, pulling her deeper into his chest.

"I'm here," Leon said, his voice gentler than it had ever been. "I'm here, Amy."

Amy didn't speak. She buried her face in his chest, letting out suppressed, joyful sobs. She squeezed his waist as if letting go would cause him to vanish like a ghost.

Leon stroked her hair, repeating the motion until her trembling slowed.

"It's okay now. Don't be afraid. From now on, I will protect you."

The survivors watched in silence. In a world defined by death, the pure emotion was a rare sight. On top of the RV, Dale lowered his binoculars and offered a gratified smile.

Only Shane watched with a sinking heart. He now knew Leon was no bandit, but a different kind of threat. The kid's strength was real, and his devotion to Amy was absolute.

Shane realized the balance of power in the camp had just shifted. He couldn't control this kid; he could only hope to stay out of his way.

"I thought... I thought you and your parents..." Amy managed to choke out.

Leon's eyes darkened for a fraction of a second. He held her shoulders, pulling her back just enough to look her in the eye.

"They protected me with their lives," Leon said firmly. "Their final wish was for me to find you and for us to survive. So, no more crying. We are going to live well."

Amy nodded heavily, her tears now a mix of relief and happiness. She stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips against his.

It was a clumsy, sincere kiss. Leon took the lead, deepening it as the surrounding survivors began to whistle and laugh softly. The heavy atmosphere of the camp lightened for the first time in days.

When they parted, Amy's cheeks were flushed. She leaned her head back onto his shoulder, her tone slightly coquettish.

"You're not allowed to leave me again. Not for a single step."

Leon smiled, feeling the weight of the gun in his pocket and the girl in his arms.

"Alright," he whispered. "I won't leave."

His gaze drifted over her shoulder, meeting Shane's eyes once more. Shane looked away first.

The status quo of the quarry was over.
