Yingge quickly shook her head and shrank to the side.

The carriage slowly moved forward, then suddenly stopped halfway.

Lingchan glanced out and reported to her.

Feng Jinxuan spoke casually, “Who dares to block my carriage?”

“It’s the Prime Minister’s residence’s carriage,” Lingchan added. “They say it’s broken down.”

“Oh?” Feng Jinxuan’s eyes flickered slightly as she suppressed the excitement in her heart.

Mother must be sitting in that carriage.

Could this be fate?

Why did the carriage have to break down right here?

Although after her body was taken over, she could only be trapped within the bronze mirror, she could still see the Transmigrator’s actions through it.

She remembered the Transmigrator accompanying Mother to Ciyun Temple without any incidents along the way.

Could it be that she was waiting for her on purpose?

Sure enough, a familiar voice came from outside.

It was Taosu, the maid serving Jiang Mo.

Feng Jinxuan’s heart stirred. Taosu had been the first to notice something off about Jiang Mo, and because of this, she was schemed against and eliminated by the Transmigrator.

In the end, Taosu was poisoned mute and drowned.

Feng Jinxuan clenched her hand, then relaxed it.

Pretending not to care, she swept a casual glance at the round, plump face of Taosu, who had lifted the carriage curtain.

This girl was still foolishly unaware of any strangeness.

She had to find a way to protect Taosu and ensure she wasn’t harmed by the Transmigrator.

“Might I ask which noble from the Duke’s residence is in the carriage?” Taosu asked sweetly.

Yingge replied unhappily, “Can’t you see the emblem? Who else but my young lady would dare hang these golden glass lanterns?”

Taosu was taken aback, clearly surprised.

Although she was a maid from the Prime Minister’s residence, she still had the proper knowledge.

Hadn’t the young lady of the Duke’s residence been mentally impaired for many years?

Why would she appear here?

She quickly composed herself and spoke cleverly, “This servant pays respects to Young Lady Feng.”

Feng Jinxuan pursed her lips and remained silent, letting Yingge handle it.

“What happened to the carriage ahead?” Yingge asked with a dark expression.

“Replying to Young Lady Feng, the carriage truly broke down halfway for some reason. Thus, my young lady sent me to ask if it would be possible…”

Before she could finish, Yingge interrupted impatiently, “My young lady has never liked sharing a carriage with others.”

Taosu was stunned for a moment, then curtsied and left dejectedly.

Yingge curled her lip. “I’ve heard that the young lady of the Prime Minister’s residence is the most well-mannered and proper. Why would she send a maid over? Clearly, she doesn’t regard our young lady with any respect.”

How could the Transmigrator not know whose carriage this was?

She was clearly doing this on purpose—trying to get close while also testing the waters.

Sure enough, not long after, a young woman appeared before the carriage again.

“Jiang Mo pays her respects to Young Lady Feng.”

The woman’s voice was gentle and pleasant to the ear.

But to Feng Jinxuan, it sounded extremely grating.

This was her voice, and that was her body.

Her original self had become someone else. Suppressing her hatred, she half-closed her eyes and remained silent.

This Feng Jinxuan was not someone to be trifled with.

Jiang Mo, standing before the carriage, received no response from inside and froze in place.

She wore a goose-yellow long dress, her almond-shaped eyes sparkling with life. With a classic oval face and a graceful figure, she radiated an undeniable brilliance.

She truly was a breathtaking beauty.

Yet, for some reason, this Miss Jiang always gave off a strange feeling.

Lingchan glanced at her. Over the years, she had followed Old Madame and had seen Jiang Mo a few times.

The current Jiang Mo seemed somewhat different from the one she had seen before.

Lingchan couldn’t quite pinpoint what was amiss, but her intuition told her that this prime minister’s daughter was not a good person.

Jiang Mo stood for a quarter of an hour without receiving a response. She opened her lips again, “My carriage has broken down, so I’ve come to trouble you. Could Miss Feng give me a ride?”

Seeing her mistress feigning sleep, Yingge understood tacitly. She lifted the carriage curtain and said, “I’ve already said my young lady dislikes sharing a carriage with others. Miss Jiang should seek help elsewhere.”

After speaking, she let the curtain fall again.

But this road could only accommodate one carriage at a time. If the carriage ahead refused to move, those behind would be unable to proceed.

Besides her own carriage, several others were waiting behind.

“But I can’t find anyone to move the carriage either.”

Jiang Mo wore an expression of helplessness and grievance.

Feng Jinxuan, however, whispered a few words into Yingge’s ear.

Yingge lifted the curtain once more, “My young lady says to throw the obstructing carriage down the mountain so it doesn’t block the way.”

“Yes,” the coachman replied with lowered eyes.

Before Jiang Mo could react, the coachman led several servants toward her carriage.

Feng Jinxuan had no desire to see Jiang Mo now, for she had just been reborn and could not suppress her murderous intent toward her.

Even if her appearance had changed and her identity was different, the look in one’s eyes when intent on killing someone never changes.

This Transmigrator had spent twenty-three years with her facing the Bronze Mirror, and they knew each other all too well.

If they were to meet now, she feared she would be unable to resist taking her life immediately.

Yet she clearly remembered that she had perished together with the Transmigrator, thinking it would bring a final end, only to find herself reborn.

It seemed there were other reasons behind this. To avoid being caught in the cycle again and reliving everything, she must find a way to completely eliminate the Transmigrator.

Before Jiang Mo could react, her carriage was pushed straight down the mountain, tumbling into the abyss.

The carriage before her eyes then slowly drove away.

Earlier, Lingchan had said that only Jiang Mo was in the carriage, suggesting the prime minister’s wife had already gone up the mountain first.

Jiang Mo stood rooted to the spot, at a loss.

“Young Miss, isn’t the eldest Miss Feng supposed to be a fool?”

Taosu exclaimed in astonishment beside her.

“Where is she foolish?”

Jiang Mo clenched her handkerchief, a trace of malice flashing across her pretty face.

Based on her understanding of this world, the eldest daughter of the Duke’s estate, Miss Feng, should have died. Why was she appearing here safe and sound?

She had deliberately damaged her carriage to wait for someone else, never expecting to encounter this Feng Jinxuan instead.

She thought she had seen a ghost.

But now it seemed Miss Feng was not dead, and she was no longer foolish.

What in the world was going on?

Still, this might be for the best. She had been worrying about how to deal with Yun Nishang, and now this presented an opportunity.

As Jiang Mo pondered, a carriage stopped beside her.
