Chapter 8: A Hero’s Rage

The World's Greatest Hero Is Actually a Villain?

"Tell me, are you scared?"

Looking at the spy in front of him, Ethan’s mind flashed to the scene he had just seen.

The horrors of people as they scrambled to escape the destruction and the burnt smell of their corpses as he stood there, floating in the sky, unable to do anything.

"Answer me!"

"Why aren’t you talking!" Unable to contain his voice, he resounded through the empty building.

Had he not been trying his best to hold back, his lasers would have long since vaporized this person in front of him.

Fortunately, he didn’t have to hold back that long, as sensing the anger being emitted from Imperion, the spy began to talk.

"I-I-Imperion, what are you doing here!"

"Isn’t the city in danger? I heard multiple heroes are struggling, barely being able to contain the monster outbreak."

"If I were you, I woul-!"

Before he could finish his words, Ethan, tired of hearing his begging, stretched out an arm, grabbing him by the neck.

"Don’t you dare say if I were you, cause you can never be me!"

"Now I’ll give you a second chance before I kill you. Tell me who in the Federation was in charge of this whole plan."

"If you tell me, I’ll make your death quick and painless."

Increasing the pressure on his neck every second, it was clear that Ethan was joking.

Perhaps it was because he was in Imperion’s body, but unlike someone who lived a regular life in his former world,

Ethan, at this moment, felt he had no problem taking a life.

In fact, he felt killing this spy in his hands would be no different from stepping on an ant.

And the spy, sensing this bloodlust, could also tell that.

"Please, please don’t kill me! Don’t kill m-!"

ack!

Struggling to breathe, with Ethan blocking his windpipe, he began to confess.

"Please, Imperion, you’re a hero, you can’t do this! And I have a family!"

"The person who ordered this attack was Dr. Lannister from the Federation. I don’t know much because my level isn’t that high, but he is the one who also created these monsters."

"Please! That’s all I know! Now let me go! I have a family!"

Struggling to breathe, the spy really felt that Ethan was going to kill him.

A situation he had never thought of when he accepted this job. Back then, all he thought about was his promotion.

He never expected to lose his life; it seemed he had underestimated the world’s greatest hero.

Fortunately, just as his mind was racing, thinking of ways not to die, Imperion’s voice suddenly came into his ears, giving him hope.

"Dr. Lannister or whatever, I haven’t heard it, but since I don’t think you lied, I’ll let you go!"

Ethan said with a teasing smile on his face.

"Really?"

"Yes, really!" He replied.

Boom!

Swinging his fist, Ethan broke a nearby column and sat on it as a chair.

"As long as you can entertain me for five minutes, I’ll let you go!"

"Dance for me! Haha! Show me your best dance!"

Looking at the spy as if looking at a monkey in a zoo, for some reason, Ethan began to feel a hint of joy.

wait a minute, is this still Imperion? Or is it the real me?

What is this feeling? Could it be that I’m some kind of sadist?

Talking to himself, Ethan began to wonder why his whole body seemed to want him to torture and kill this spy in front of him.

Was it because he caused the deaths of innocents? Or was it because they schemed against him?

Ethan wondered if it was even just because he felt it was fun.

In such a complex mood, he knew he had to study his body more and find out what kind of Imperion was before he entered his body.

Not the novel Imperion, but the real Imperion, in order not to be influenced by him.

’Perhaps that diary can be of some use to me?’

’However, opening the next page should also be brought up on my agenda.’

Whispering inwardly, Ethan silently made a mental note.

Right now, he had to deal with the spy who was helplessly dancing in front of him.

Looking at the spy, who, with fear in his eyes, shook his body on the ground like a worm, he suddenly had an idea.

bzzt!

bzzt!

bzzt!

bzzt!

Not giving him a chance to react, Ethan shot each of his limbs with his lasers, cutting them off instantly.

"Arghhhh! Why!!! This isn’t what you promised!"

"I already told you everything! I have a family! Why!!"

Yelling hysterically as pain flooded through his nerves, the spy couldn’t believe what had just happened.

However, unlike his reaction, Imperion, who was sitting down, was laughing from ear to ear.

"Haha, this suits you much better. Now, continue dancing!"

"Consider this a handicap of sorts!"

Saying this, his face turned serious.

"Also, if you say any bullshit about having a family one more time, I’ll crush your head with my foot as we speak."

"Family! What family!"

"What about the lives lost thanks to this little plan of yours!"

"The children separated from their parents forever, and the parents separated from their children!"

"Do they not have family!"

"Answer me! Do they!"

Roaring angrily, Ethan looked at the Federation spy with disgust.

Even down to its last moment of death, as it slowly bled away, it still put on a disgraceful show.

"However, speaking of blood, Lilith, you can come out. I know you’re here!"

Turning to look to the right, a beautiful figure slowly began to condense out of the blood mist.

"As expected of you, you can always tell when I’m in here!"

Walking over to him, she looked at the dying and crying spy in disgust.

"Disgusting, same with all those Federation bastards."

"It’s hard to imagine, with those brains of theirs that are only good for creating conspiracies, that they could create an S-class, Level 3 monster."

Holding out her tablet, Lilith began to go through the news.

"Not only that, but around the city, several more A-class monsters are on the loose, with most of them being around Level 3 and 2."

Talking about these monsters, the Federation actually surprised her. How could those foolish old men create something like that?

"By the way, Lilith, speaking of levels, do you think you’re close to Level 5 yet?"

Asked Imperion, as he knew from the original novel, levels were categorised alongside ranks, with Level One being the lowest and Level Five being the highest.

Even the endgame Imperion was still Level 5, or maybe half a step towards Level Six.

So Lilith, hearing this question, couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

"Are you joking with me? You and I know just how hard it is to advance each level."

"After all, even after so many years, I’m only level-"
