Cheng Sisi was startled and turned around abruptly.

“G-good morning!”

Standing before her was Jiang Zhuo, already fully dressed. His round gold-rimmed glasses, crisp suit, and the glimpse of a wristwatch all exuded the charm of a mature man.Full novel: The Yandere Gentleman Gently Coaxes, The Sweet Baby Cannot Escape — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Cheng Sisi’s ears flushed red, and she quietly averted her gaze.

Because all she could think about was last night—the dream where he slowly undressed her piece by piece.

Everything except the final step had been done, whether it should have been or not.

They had tried many positions, and there wasn’t a single spot on her body he hadn’t touched!

Even now, the sensations felt so vivid and real, as if it had truly happened.

“You don’t look well. What’s wrong?” Jiang Zhuo asked with concern.

She shook her head lightly, her cheeks reddening at the memory of the dream, and buried her face deeper.

Seeing her like this, Jiang Zhuo smiled faintly and asked knowingly, “Did you sleep poorly last night?”

“N-no!” She turned her back to him and strode forward.

“Brother Jiang Zhuo, you should go have breakfast. Didn’t you say you have an important meeting this morning?”

Her flustered, escape-like demeanor made Jiang Zhuo narrow his eyes, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

He didn’t say anything else, only adding, “Remember to send me the design draft!”

Without looking back, she quickened her pace. “I know!”

Soon, she was back in her room.

Closing the door did nothing to muffle the frantic beating of her heart, which felt as if it might leap right out of her chest.

Help!

She screamed inwardly. From now on, she wouldn’t be able to face Jiang Zhuo normally. She even wished she could slap herself a few times, unable to understand why she had such an embarrassing dream—and with Jiang Zhuo as the male lead, no less.

The person she liked was clearly Jiang Si, and even when she had dreamed of Jiang Si before, it had never been that kind of dream. Besides, most dreams were usually forgotten by the next morning.

But last night’s dream was so vivid!

She remembered every detail—every look, every movement, every shift in position and physical contact.

It was terrifying. How could she remember it so clearly?

She tugged at her hair, feeling utterly helpless and dejected as she walked to the wardrobe to change.

Later, she would go to the hospital to visit Jiang Si.

For the rest of the morning, she deliberately dragged her feet, hoping that by the time she went downstairs, Jiang Zhuo would have already left for the office.

However, she miscalculated!

Leaning against the second-floor railing and looking down, she saw Jiang Zhuo still sitting at the dining table. Although there was no bowl in front of him, he was holding his phone as if replying to messages, with no intention of getting up.

Her face fell, and she was about to turn and leave when Jiang Zhuo, as if sensing her presence, looked up and met her gaze.

Now, there was no escaping. She could only brace herself and walk downstairs.

“Brother Jiang Zhuo, have you finished eating?”

What she really wanted to ask was, “If you’ve finished eating, why aren’t you heading to the office?”

“Yes, have a seat!”

Jiang Zhuo motioned for her to sit but stood up himself and walked toward the kitchen. “Breakfast is warming in the pot. I’ll get it for you.”

The housekeeper at the Jiang residence didn’t live in; she came daily at set times to prepare meals and clean before leaving.

Earlier, seeing that Cheng Sisi hadn’t come down for so long, she had likely warmed the food in the pot to keep it from getting cold.

“I can do it myself—”

“You sit down!”

Soon, Jiang Zhuo emerged from inside carrying breakfast, placing it on the dining table and handing it to Cheng Sisi. “It’s still warm. You should eat quickly.”

“Thank you!”

Cheng Sisi took it with both hands but remained restless, unable to sit still.

“What’s wrong?”

Jiang Zhuo asked her, and she quickly lowered her head to start eating, just not daring to look at him.

It was already almost nine o’clock—why hadn’t Jiang Zhuo left for work yet?

Under his gaze, she took small, careful bites, ultimately not finishing the meal. She stood up hurriedly after eating.

“I’ll go check the kitchen to see if there are any ingredients. I want to prepare lunch to take to the hospital.”

With that, she picked up her bowl and prepared to leave the table.

“I’ll take you to the hospital,” Jiang Zhuo suddenly said.

Finally unable to hold back, she looked up and asked, “Brother Jiang Zhuo, don’t you need to go to the company?”

“Hmm,” he replied casually. “The meeting was canceled, and there’s nothing urgent at the company this morning. I thought I’d wait for you to come down so we could go to the hospital together.”

“Oh!”

Cheng Sisi’s lips twitched, momentarily unsure how to respond.

Jiang Zhuo continued, “Go ahead and cook. I’ll wait for you, or I can help you with the preparations. If there’s anything you need—”

“No, no need!” Cheng Sisi quickly refused. “I can handle it myself. Brother Jiang Zhuo, you should just rest!”

How could she dare to let Jiang Zhuo, the CEO of a corporation, assist her in the kitchen? She had already caused him enough trouble.

With that, she fled the dining table as if escaping.

Behind her, Jiang Zhuo smiled like a cunning and ghostly fox!

When Cheng Sisi emerged from the kitchen, she saw Jiang Zhuo still sitting in the same spot, but now with a laptop in front of him.

He was working, and his posture was impeccable—even at home, he sat upright, never slouching.

Cheng Sisi averted her gaze and shook her head, utterly unable to connect the Jiang Zhuo before her with the one from her dream last night.

“Ready?”

Jiang Zhuo looked over, then closed his laptop, stood up, and walked toward her, reaching out to take the food container from her hands.

“Let me,” he said.

“It’s fine, I can carry it myself!”

But Jiang Zhuo insisted, taking the container directly from her hands before striding outside.

Cheng Sisi sighed helplessly and hurried to catch up.

Upon arriving at their destination, the car stopped behind the hospital’s side entrance. Cheng Sisi got out first while Jiang Zhuo looked for a parking spot.

Not wanting to leave on her own, she waited by the roadside.

As he was backing into a spot, a teenager on a skateboard passed by Cheng Sisi and whistled at her.

Cheng Sisi glanced back warily but ignored him.

Undeterred, the skateboarder began circling around her. Whether due to lack of skill or on purpose, he suddenly stumbled forward, crashing straight into Cheng Sisi.

She let out a startled cry, losing her balance and falling sideways.

Beside her stood a pillar, and to her horror, a nail protruded from it, aimed directly at her left eye.

By the time she raised her hands to shield herself, it was clearly too late. She could only instinctively close her eyes.

Suddenly.

A large hand reached out from behind and grabbed her.

The moment it touched her, her heart began to race. The sensation felt strangely familiar—so much like the hands that had explored nearly every inch of her body in last night’s dream.

“Careful!”

It was him—it really was Jiang Zhuo!

She was pulled back, stumbling a few steps before her back collided with his chest due to momentum.

At the same time, she let out a heavy breath.

At least her eyes were safe!

“Are you hurt? What about your foot—did you twist it?”

Jiang Zhuo pulled her closer, checking her over from head to toe.

She shook her head but glanced back at the nail embedded in the post with lingering fear.

Jiang Zhuo followed her gaze and understood instantly.

The skateboarding teen remained unmoved, even adding sarcastically, “She’s fine—just stumbled a bit, so what? Not that fragile!”
