The instant Luo Wei lunged, Feng Xianyue threw up an ice barrier.

The sword met it with a ringing crack, shards of frost exploding into the air.

Feng Xianyue staggered and fell to the ground.Full novel: The Young Miss Who Refused To Die — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Luo Wei’s eyes shone with triumph as he raised his sword for a killing blow.

Seeing this, Feng Xianyue glared up at him, cold and waiting.

Then she flung a handful of sand straight into his face.

Blinded by the sand, Luo Wei blinked rapidly, and his sword trajectory changed.

That was all the little dragon needed.

Yueling appeared behind him and raked his claws across Luo Wei’s back with all his strength.

Luo Wei roared, enraged and bleeding.

He spun and slashed at the little dumpling, but before his blade could land, Feng Xianyue was already rising.

Both palms slammed into his sternum, reinforced with every shred of qi she had left, timed perfectly as his sword arm lifted.

The crack of bone filled the air, and Luo Wei spat out a mouthful of blood, his sword clattering to the ground.

He wobbled for a second before falling face flat.

Doubting whether he was dead or just injured, Feng Xianyue knelt beside him, turning Luo Wei’s body to lay on his back.

She placed her fingers under his nose.

A faint breath…

hardly noticeable.

A lifeforce struggling desperately to survive.

Her eyes glinted coldly as she took the dagger from her space.

If she had been overconfident in her killing blow, Luo Wei might have been able to survive by taking a healing pill as long as he had a breath left.

Unfortunately, his enemy happened to be Feng Xianyue, who was not willing to let her enemies have a chance at revenge as long as she was capable of doing something about it.

Though she hated the feel of any human blood on her, Feng Xianyue didn’t hesitate for a moment.

She raised the dagger and plunged it into his chest.

Pulling it out, Feng Xianyue repeated the action, her eyes reddening as she remembered how she was almost raped by him.

His body jolted.

A sharp gasp spilled from his lips, yet Feng Xianyue didn’t stop plunging the dagger back into his chest.

She came back to her senses a few seconds after his body went still.

Feng Xianyue looked down at her shaking hand…

at the dagger still gripped inside it…

and let it fall.

What she felt wasn’t fear or disgust at herself for slowly becoming depraved and merciless when killing.

It wasn’t guilt.

Just confusion.

Why did killing feel so natural?

Her first kill.

Her hands had shaken for hours.

But now?

Nothing.

Only hatred.

Only the satisfaction of watching Luo Wei’s breath stop.

Was something wrong with her?

Nevertheless, at that moment, Feng Xianyue didn’t have the luxury to sink into those thoughts and feelings.

Because just then, the temperature dropped, and whispers could be heard in the air.

Feng Xianyue immediately stood, sending the dagger and the little dumpling back to her space.

She didn’t know why, but the wraiths and soul devourers were back.

Something was definitely wrong.

She was no longer spilling the yin aura—why could they still locate her?

Feng Xianyue wondered as she pulled out a sword, getting ready to strike.

She couldn’t fight them on her own in her weakened state, so she decided to retreat to her space and make plans.

However, Feng Xianyue suddenly couldn’t access her space.

It was as if a hidden powerful force had blocked all entry to another dimension.

Something must be wrong with the space in the Misty Ruins.

However, remembering how so far she had no problem accessing the space, she surmised that another entity must have created a barrier blocking any breach to any dimension.

What could it be?

Powerful…

too powerful cultivator?

Wraith?

It didn’t matter.

Her space was sealed.

How did she get noticed by something like that?

She was trapped!

Feng Xianyue panicked, dread filling her gut.

Fighting a wraith and soul devourers was ultimately different from fighting a cultivator, as they were incorporeal beings and fed on lifeforce and consciousness.

If her qi had been Yang-dominated, it would have been easier for her to fight the wraiths.

However, Feng Xianyue had a yin physique, making her meridians naturally tilt towards yin qi, so she could only use the fire talismans which she luckily had in the storage bag Gu Han gave her.

Without wasting time, she attached two talismans to the sword and sent a wisp of her qi, activating the talismans just in time to send a fire attack at the spirits.

Knowing that this was not a lasting solution, Feng Xianyue remembered something she had read from the space library.

Though it came with risks, it was enough to give her a chance to retreat.

Running towards Luo Wei’s body where it lay fallen, his unused qi still lingered like embers in dead ash, and that was all she needed.

Feng Xianyue pressed three fire talismans onto his dantian, his heart, and his brow.

She tied them together with a single thread of her qi, then backed away fifty paces behind a stone pillar and waited.

A minute later, a swarm of wraiths and soul devourers stronger than what she had fought earlier appeared. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.

Gulping down hard, Feng Xianyue’s palms became clammy with sweat.

Things had really gone wrong.

She didn’t know she was capable of attracting such powerful spirits.

Did she underestimate the allure of the Nine Yin Physique?

Shaking her head to concentrate, she activated the talisman in her hand which was linked to the rest.

For a breath, nothing happened.

Then Luo Wei’s corpse erupted.

A pillar of red and white fire roared skyward, carrying fragments of bone and melted sword fragments.

The shockwave cracked the pillar she hid behind.

When the smoke cleared, there was nothing left but a blackened crater, and the wraiths that had been pursuing her?

Gone.

Incinerated.

She touched her chest.

Her own qi felt cold and shaky…

the backlash.

But she was alive.

However, being as unlucky as she was in both lifetimes, Feng Xianyue couldn’t rejoice for long.

She felt it in the air—more were still coming.

Before, Yueling could have notified her, but now on her own, she had to rely on her senses.

Knowing that if she stayed and attempted to fight she was just seeking death, Feng Xianyue spun and ran, attaching some speed talismans to her legs and swallowing a bunch of medium-grade healing pills.

When she ran for about an hour, she used her divine sense to search ahead of her and smiled coldly at what she found.

No matter how unlucky she was, it seemed like the heavens enjoyed watching her deal with her enemies.

Up ahead, a hundred meters away, was Feng Yue and her cronies, along with some cultivators from other sects.

It seemed like they had a clear destination and were heading there.

Though they looked disheveled, a bit worn out, they didn’t seem to have suffered like her.

Feng Xianyue snickered.

It was about time they had their own fair share of suffering.

Since the heavens favoured and spared them from torment, she might as well do the needed and bring the torment to their doorstep.

What Feng Xianyue didn’t realise was how dark her thoughts were becoming.

Right now, her originally clear eyes were blood red, brimming with malicious energy, with her face and body splattered with blood.

She looked like a malevolent spirit out to bring misfortune to humans.

However, when she stumbled into the path of Feng Yue and the others, in their naivety, what they saw was a worn-out Feng Xianyue at the brink of death.

Feng Yue startled at the sight of Feng Xianyue.

Her eyes glistened with excitement, but she quickly hid the joy and satisfaction she felt at her sister’s wretched state and ran towards her.

Love you all.
