Ao Jiayin tried to contract the Realm-Breaking Pearl in her hand using her spiritual sense. She probed it with her spiritual consciousness several times and formed the contract seals repeatedly, but the pearl showed no reaction at all.
She tilted her head and recalled the methods her mother had taught her for contracting celestial artifacts. Aside from imprinting it with spiritual sense, there was also using essence blood.
But what exactly was essence blood? And she had no idea how to draw it out either…
As for asking her father now? He definitely wouldn’t teach her. Not only would he refuse to teach her, but he would also take the pearl away and keep her right under his watchful eye every day from then on.
The little dragon cub sighed. “Forget it. I’ll just try using the blood from my finger. It’s still blood from my own body anyway—it can’t be that different!”
She ransacked her chests and found a golden fish bone. Spreading open her chubby little hand, she stabbed the short, thick finger with all her might. Snap! The fish bone broke… She stared blankly at the half-golden spine in her hand, blinking in confusion.
If an outsider had witnessed this scene, they would have been utterly shocked. This was no ordinary fish bone—it was the spine of a thousand-year-old golden-bone sea bream, as hard as black iron. And yet it had broken so easily!
The only explanation was that the little dragon cub had absolutely no idea just how tough her own kind’s skin and flesh really were.
They were ancient dragons, renowned for their thick hides. How could it be easy to break through their defense?
For their clan, when they committed offenses and were punished, a special dragon-whip had to be used precisely because ordinary weapons couldn’t hurt them at all—striking them would feel no more than a tickle.
Back to the main story.
An hour later, the little dragon cub frowned, her hands clasped behind her back (she was too chubby to reach one hand with the other, so she just pretended to hold them behind her), pacing back and forth in her palace on her short little legs. “I’ve tried swords, spears, halberds, and sabers—I just can’t draw blood. What should I do?”
Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks. She had been racking her brains while chewing on her cheek, and suddenly remembered something. Last time she was eating, she had accidentally bitten the inside of her cheek and spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva…
She pressed her lips together, hesitating for a long time. Finally, as if she had made up her mind, her little face grew serious. She bit down hard with her tiny baby teeth! A sting in her cheek—and sure enough, a coppery taste filled her mouth. She immediately spat a mouthful of saliva onto the Realm-Breaking Pearl!
The moment the saliva, tinged with blood, touched the pearl, it was rapidly absorbed. The pearl’s color shifted from pale gold to a brilliant golden yellow! A flash of light surrounded it, and in the next instant, the little dragon cub vanished from where she stood…
…
Ao Jiayin stared at the golden door before her, utterly bewildered. Had she entered the Realm-Breaking Pearl? Wasn’t this the exact scene she had seen earlier with her spiritual sense?
She stood in place and carefully examined her surroundings. The space was about a hundred meters across—empty, with nothing in it except a glowing, shimmering door in the center.
She looked at the characters carved on the door and read them out haltingly: “Ancient… something… something great… Star… something…? This says… Immortal something… this one says Mortal World Great Yan Dynasty… What does that mean?” With a puzzled look on her face, she reached out her chubby little hand and touched a few of the characters.
The golden door vanished, replaced by a golden vortex. The little dragon cub suddenly felt a tremendous pulling force, and she was sucked straight inside!
In almost the blink of an eye, the golden door returned to its original state. On the stone door she had just been looking at were carved the following words:
Ancient World – Divine Demon Continent
Interstellar World – Haosi Alliance
Cultivation World – Langhuan Realm
Mortal World – Great Yan Dynasty…
And the one the little dragon cub Ao Jiayin had just touched with her chubby little hand was the Mortal World – Great Yan Dynasty.
