Yuki was clearing the curry plates.

Lena was still sitting with her back against the plastic-wrapped sofa, a glass of wine in her hand, gazing at the garden lights beyond the glass walls.

Hina stood in front of her, a tall shadow with still-damp hair and a tracksuit, and looked down at her.

“Hina?” Lena said.

“Are you okay?”

Hina knelt.

She took the glass from Lena’s hand, set it on the floor with a careful, almost ceremonial motion, cupped Lena’s face in her two warm, rough palms, and kissed her.

It wasn’t a shy kiss, like Yuki’s.

It was deep, hungry, as if she had been waiting for years.

Lena froze for a second in surprise, and then kissed her back, her hands finding Hina’s waist.

From the kitchen came the sound of a plate dropping into the sink.

Hina didn’t stop.

Her fingers found the buttons of Lena’s shirt and opened them one by one, without hurry but without hesitation either.

“Hina,” Lena whispered, breathless.

“Are you sure?”

“Since yesterday morning,” Hina said.

Her voice was low, nothing like the loud voice from lunch.

“Since the moment you rode into the parking lot on that bike.

I’m sure.”

Her hands moved down to Lena’s skirt.

Found the zipper at the side.

Pulled it down.

And then Hina saw.

For a moment, Lena thought she would pull away.

Yuki had stopped in the kitchen doorway with a towel in her hands, motionless, waiting too.

Hina didn’t say a word.

She didn’t ask anything.

She simply lowered her head, without the slightest hesitation, and took her into her mouth.

Lena threw her head back against the sofa with a cry.

Yuki dropped the towel.

And at that exact moment, the front door, which no one had remembered to lock, swung open.

“Lena, you left your student ID at the fencing hall and I got your address from the Council registry, which isn’t technically allowed, but I figured you’d need it tomorrow, so—”

Rei Kurosawa stopped in the middle of the hallway.

She wore a long black coat, her platinum hair was down for the first time, and she held Lena’s ID up in front of her like a shield.

Her face went from cold confidence, to confusion, to shock, all in one second.

No one moved.

Yuki in the kitchen doorway, mouth hanging open.

Rei in the hallway, mouth hanging open.

Lena on the sofa, shirt open and skirt around her knees, mouth also hanging open.

Only Hina didn’t stop.

She raised her eyes, without raising her head, and looked at Rei.

It was a look Lena would never forget: calm, dark, perfectly quiet.

The look of someone saying without words: *She’s mine.*

The ID slipped from Rei’s fingers and fell to the floor.

Rei took a step back toward the door.

Her hand found the handle.

And stopped.

[Rei Kurosawa | Attraction: 82% → 91%]

[System Note: Jealousy detected.

Desire detected.

The target is fighting herself.]

Lena could see it.

With Yuki’s skill, she read her like a page: a girl who had never lost at anything, who had turned down a hundred confessions because she was afraid of wanting something she couldn’t control.

And who now, for the first time in her life, wanted.

“Rei,” Lena said, with as much steadiness as she could find.

“You can leave.

No one will stop you.”

Rei looked at her.

Her icy eyes shone wet.

“Or,” Lena said more quietly, “you can close the door.”

The silence stretched on and on.

Rei Kurosawa closed the door.

And locked it.

Yuki moved first.

She crossed the living room barefoot, knelt beside Hina, and kissed Lena on the lips, shyly and then more boldly.

When she pulled back, she was red to her ears, but smiling.

“I’m not staying out of this,” she whispered.

“I was the first.”

Hina finally sat up, wiping her lips, and looked at Yuki.

For a second, something dark passed through her eyes.

Then she smiled and kissed Yuki on the cheek.

“You liked my curry,” Yuki said, as if explaining something.

“I did,” Hina agreed.

And then she turned her head toward the hallway.

Rei was still standing where she’d been, her coat buttoned to her throat.

“You,” Hina said.

Her voice was polite, almost sweet.

But her eyes weren’t.

“Do you want to come in?”

“I…” Rei swallowed.

“I’ve never done it.

With anyone.”

“Neither had we, two days ago,” Yuki said softly.

“Then you have to ask,” Hina said.

“Yuki first.

She has the key.

And then me.”

Rei Kurosawa, daughter of Kurosawa Group, President of the Student Council, the Ice Queen who had never bowed to anyone, slowly took off her coat.

Underneath, she wore a simple white shirt and a black skirt, almost identical to Lena’s.

She walked to the rug and knelt in front of Yuki.

“May I?” she asked.

Yuki blushed so hard Lena was afraid she might faint.

Then she nodded, and took Rei’s hand.

Rei turned to Hina.

Hina looked at her for a long time.

Then she leaned in and whispered something in her ear, something Lena didn’t catch.

Rei went a little pale.

And then, for the first time since Lena had known her, she laughed.

“Agreed,” Rei said.

“Then welcome,” Hina said, and smiled.

[Rei Kurosawa | Attraction: 91% → 100%]

[Rei Kurosawa asks, of her own free will, to become yours.]

Rei turned to Lena and, with trembling hands, pulled her phone out of her skirt pocket.

“I don’t have your number,” she said, and her voice cracked into something half laugh, half sob.

“I got your address from the registry, but I don’t have your number.

It’s ridiculous.”

Lena took the phone from her hands, typed in her number, and handed it back.

Then she pulled her close and kissed her.

Rei’s kiss was like melting ice.

Cold at first, hesitant, and then suddenly warm, so warm Lena felt her whole body catch fire.

The party lasted all night.

Hina started it, the way she had started everything that evening.

She pulled off her top in one motion and climbed onto Lena with the confidence of an athlete who knows every muscle in her body.

“I’m starting,” she said.

“Okay?”

*Ding.*

“Hina,” Lena said.

“If we do this now, you could get pregnant.”

Hina smiled, a slow, strange smile.

“I want to,” she said.

*Yes,* Lena thought.

Hina moved on top of her with a steady, relentless rhythm, as if playing in a final, whispering half-phrases in her Osaka dialect.

*Mine.

Mine.* Yuki was beside them, kissing Lena’s neck, holding Hina’s hand.

Rei sat to the side, legs tucked beneath her, watching with eyes that were no longer frozen at all.

When Hina came, she cried out so loudly it echoed through the entire villa.

[Hina Takeda is pregnant.

Congratulations, Host!

Your first child.]

[Talent acquired: “Heart of the Athlete”]

Then it was Yuki’s turn, gentle and tender like their first night, with Hina cradling her head in her lap and stroking her hair.

And then, much later, when the moon had risen above the garden pines, it was Rei’s turn.

She lay back on the rug, her platinum hair fanned around her like a silver halo, and looked up at Lena.

“Will I be good at this?” she asked.

It was the question of someone who had always been first at everything.

“It’s not an exam,” Lena said, and kissed her forehead.

“To me, everything is an exam.”

“Not tonight.”

They went slowly.

Yuki held one of Rei’s hands.

Hina, to everyone’s surprise, held the other.

Rei squeezed her eyes and fingers shut, and for a moment no one breathed.

Then she opened her eyes, and they were full of tears, and she was smiling.

“It’s not an exam,” she whispered, as if understanding it for the first time.

“No,” Lena said.

And the Ice Queen melted.

*Ding.*

[Rei Kurosawa has given you her first time, by her own choice.]

[Once Rei Kurosawa moves into your home, you will acquire: “Blade of the Queen.”]

Dawn was breaking when all four of them ended up in the big bed.

Yuki on the left side of Lena’s chest.

Hina on the right, one hand spread protectively over her stomach.

And Rei, who didn’t fit on her chest, curled up at Lena’s feet with her head on her hip.

“I’m moving in tomorrow,” Rei said into the half-dark.

“My father is going to have a problem with it.”

“We’ll handle it,” Lena said.

“You don’t know him.”

“You don’t know me,” Lena said, and Rei laughed softly.

“Lena,” Hina said suddenly, without opening her eyes.

“I want to tell you a secret.

All of you.

But don’t be mad.”

“We won’t be mad.”

“Yesterday, after the ceremony, I followed you.” Hina said it simply, as if talking about the weather.

“From the Akamon to the parking lot.

I saw you talking to Rei.

Then I took a taxi and followed you all the way here.

I stood outside the fence until two in the morning.”

Yuki blinked.

Rei propped herself up on an elbow.

“And the poetry seminar,” Hina went on, “I didn’t take it because of a bet.

I took it because I found out Yuki was your roommate.

I wanted to become her friend.

To get to you.”

The silence lasted a long time.

“I’ve always been like this,” Hina said, more quietly.

“I’ve only ever liked girls, always.

But when I like someone…

I can’t stop.

That’s why I never had a girlfriend.

I was afraid of myself.” She opened her eyes.

They were dark and very, very honest.

“But you let me in.

And Yuki gave me curry.

And Rei asked permission.

So now you’re mine.

All of you.”

After a moment, Yuki reached across Lena’s chest and took Hina’s hand.

“Okay,” she whispered.

“And you’re ours.”

Hina looked at her as if she had never expected to hear those words.

And then, for the first time that night, she cried.

Lena held her until the tears stopped and her breathing calmed.

Yuki stroked her hair.

Even Rei shyly reached out and rested her hand on Hina’s ankle, as if saying, in her own awkward way, *I’m here*.

A little later, when everyone thought she had fallen asleep, Hina opened her eyes again in the dark.

“Rei,” she whispered.

“Mm?”

“Remember what I told you in your ear.”

Rei was silent for a second.

“I remember.”

“Good,” Hina said sweetly, and closed her eyes again.

Lena stared at the ceiling.

“What did you tell her?” she finally asked.

“Nothing,” Hina said.

“Just that if she ever hurts one of us, I’ll kill her.” She yawned.

“Goodnight, Lena.

I love you.”

Yuki swallowed.

Rei, at Lena’s feet, smiled into the dark, as if she had finally found a rival worth having.

*Ding.*
