Alex had been passed out for quite some time, Tiffen had taken the responsibility of carrying him home safely.

Although she didn’t need to do any jobs or such in the village, so it was honestly quite lucky Alex had passed out here and then.

Shim, Cleo, even Sharku didn’t see Alex pass out, it had just been Tiffen who saw such, and being the only one who saw she too responsibility.Full novel: Tower of Letters — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was just Tiffen, like old times…

Tiffen had to hold Alex over her shoulders, but she still did it, she was sick this morning, and now she was making the climb back home with Alex on her shoulders.

Nothing else had happened along the way, the sun had been setting and the villagers had barley seen Alex, let alone Tiffen.

The gaze of the clouds, there reddish hue mixed with a blatant pink pop, truly a sunset out of a painting.

However, as much as this sunset was pretty, it was also a transition into darkness, darkness with no light.

“You awake yet, Alex?” Tiffen asked as she felt Alex move slightly, her red hair and round glasses where covered in last sunlight.

Alex raised his gaze at this fact, he had just woken up, he had been slightly cautious at first, but he didn’t move further.

Something overturned his heart, from what Alex gathered he knew he had been talking to himself, and that caused him to pass out.

Tiffen had then clearly taken up this fact, and started to take him home, Alex’s eyes where dull, his soul was quite, his head was still.

Something made him relax, Alex looked out to the sunset, by now the sun was off there faces but was still in the sky, not a thought ran through his mind.

He didn’t want to be awake, he didn’t want to be asleep, how selfish?

He wanted both, and both he had.

He was dead, but alive, somewhere in-between both, but the desire to have both grew outside of just life and death.

He wanted to talk in the moment, but he also didn’t, how was he to have both?

No matter what he picked he would fall into one, but he had wanted both right?

“Right..” He said, looking out to the clouds that seemed to float both in the sky and on the ground, “I am not awake, yet…” He said, nuzzling his head back into Tiffen, his eyes swelled up, such a scene, such a life, all of it.

He had come to value it, to value the in-between of states.

“Very well, I will consider you sleeping, even if your ‘not awake yet’, as you wish.” Tiffen added, still walking feeling Alex’s slight swelling of tears hit her back.

He remained silent, but didn’t know what to feel, what to say, what to do, 『 Where is this even coming from?

』He questioned his crying.

He had been fine a few hours before?

What was even happening?

What was Alex feeling?

Cael did not know.

He didn’t know at all, what feeling meant, what had happened, hatred, sadness.

He knew nothing.

He truly knew nothing..

Was that an effect of not knowing anything?

Why Alex was so sad?

He didn’t know, was it truly okay not to know?

He knew-and-didn’t, a state of in-between.

He knew that much as least.

Alex cried, and cried.

He didn’t admit it, Tiffen didn’t either, Alex had just cried, and cried.

He wined aloud.

He didn’t know why, nobody did.

It was just a flush of emotions, a lone path, and a companion, right?

Right?

…

..

.

Nothing had happened,

Nothing had changed,

Nothing had moved,

Nothing had clung,

Nothing had felt,

Nothing had,

Nothing, nothing, nothing,

Nothing,

No no no no…

What had happened?

What had changed?

What had moved?

And what had clung?

What had felt?

And what had?

What?

What what what what!

Nothing, so why then?

Why had this all happened?

What caused?

This?

What cause?

Cael-Cael-Cael-Cael-Cael-Cael-Cael-Cael-Cael’s mind had been lost.

He didn’t know why a defeat had come.

He didn’t feel right at least.

This was unnatural.

He felt as if something was moving, perhaps shifting.

Shifting right into place.

Something in him-him-him-him-him-he-he-Cael-Cael-Cael-Alex-aAlexAleked!

They.

Something in They had happened,

Something in They had changed,

Something in They had moved,

Something in They had clung,

Something in They had felt,

Something in They had,

Something in They,

They, They, They, No longer.

They had, They had done it.

No longer, where They one another,

They where.

Nothing was kept in secret from one another.

Nothing was hidden, it was all open, They had knew that.

They, they, they, how pretty to say?

He was no longer, Alex, Cael, it didn’t matter, it was They, They had done it.

None of the difference, one of the same~

**************************************************************************************

Opening They eyes, Alex rather Cael, had seen a roof, knew, They knew, it was They felt around, there hands feeling there weighty blanket over the top of them.

“I’m home..” They said, getting out of the blanket, there where dressed in a sleepy outfit with small cotton socks on.

They made it out of there bed, walking up and round, feeling of walking was new, the feeling of breathing was fun, the feeling of your own weight pulling down on you was enjoyable.

The air was thin, cold, They had made it up, walking over to a lone mirror laying on the ground.

In all the years and birthdays They had spent, never have been gifted a mirror, let alone one laying on the floor.

They moved closer, looking down into the mirror, They saw nothing, not a single thing, standing above the mirror, yet it didn’t reflect anything.

After seeing this strange event, They wanted to jump backwards in fear but They didn’t, They walked pass it, opening the door to the hallway.

It was dark, no light, no way to see, but They had remembered the way flawlessly, like They had done it a hundred times before.

No matter how dark it was They would make it, since it was here, he was here, for once They hadn’t missed him.

There eyes where dull,

There soul was unlit,

There breaths small,

There legs shallow,

There body frozen,

There heart left,

They where life.

……………………………

Making there way down the hallway, every step left a frozen death of a heartless monster, They took another step.

In the corner of the dinning room was a man, he was covered in darkness, swept away in the dark shade of the shadows.

“Your finally awake?” The man said, shifting his weight forwards, “Took you long enough,” He added, picking up a small stick from the side of the table.

They didn’t care though, They had just walked forwards one slow painful step at a time, leaving small fragments of chills in there wait.

“Come to finally end it? To show me just how strong you are parasite?” The man said, by now the stick on the table was fully in his hands, standing up he pointed the stick at They, “Or rather…” He added, signalling for something outside of the window.

“Should I say…”

The man went on, They didn’t care, there steps drew new, slowly coming forwards, the men that had gotten the signal outside rushed the door.

Smashing both side entries open, about four of them where on each side, rushing for hand signals and chants, They had paid no attention to the new men.

Then two chains from either directions came about, there speed along side there golden hue painted the sight, wrapping around They.

The man from the table drew closer as They was restricted by the chains, the man got closer to They, his face was painted by the hue, it was none other then Roland.

Roland then tilted They’s chin up, “Should I say, Alexander De’corettell?”

Roland said looking at They.

Alex had been a boy, a soft sweet face boy, with the orange-red-ish hair color, and sweet smile.

Roland thought, seeing the boy who was They; *Alex…* Nothing but They’s former name passed Roland mind.
