As the Nyechistyy ran he felt the mana from the surroundings rush into his being to fill the portion he’d just emptied in his previous spell.

’I don’t know how much mana I have... but that spell didn’t use much of it...’

Magic in this world, as his memories from the prison told him, was programming.

There were two parts to a human’s magic, one was their property and the other was their access level which was related to their mana core level.

The greater their mana core level, the more variables of their property they could access.

There was another way to increase their access level and that was through an initiation, by sharing a soul bond with a being with a higher level mana core.

The Nyechistyy’s mana core level was currently zero, so the only things he could access in his properties were a few basic variables like position and intensity.

’So I’m essentially a glorified glow torch right now...’

’An autistic glow torch... but a glow torch none the less.’

To perform magic one had to manipulate these variables through lines of code by thinking about them before compiling them by firming the images of the execution of the code in their minds.

It would then automatically be executed by the soul once the necessary mana amount for the spell was funded.

That’s what he’d done earlier, he’d imagined the code for light to gather in his hands before imagining the code for the light to shoot towards his enemies and explode in brightness by using his mana.

’Why is it code?’

’Well I’m not the god of this world so don’t ask me about it.’

’All I do know is that I have tons of memories of writing code from my previous life so the second I obtained the memories of my property, light, I was able to execute the magic to find a way out.’

’Perhaps I was a game developer in my previous life.’

’After all... I do have memories of all the games from my catalog.’

The Nyechistyy looked at his system panel as he ran.

[ETA : One Minute.]

He then looked up and found himself close to the dungeons, it was within his line of sight, about a hundred meters away.

A ten meter tall portal of pure blue radiant light looking like a tear in the fabric of the universe with cracks in space around it.

’Will entering a dungeon block the connection of the system?’

’No right?’

His system didn’t seem to respond to his question so all he could do was continue running.

’I’ll wait outside the dungeon... I’m already there now... nothing can go wrong anymore... as soon as something does I’ll simply enter the dungeon.’

"NYECHISTYY!!!!!!!"

The Nyechistyy felt a cold shiver run down his spine. He tried to turn around but he didn’t have the opportunity to..

Something hard and sharp slammed into his abdomen, piercing from one end to the other like he was a vegetable!

The Nyechistyy coughed up blood from his mouth-

"Fuc-"

Without even allowing him to complete the words, the Nyechistyy was launched into the air and then slammed back into the earth like he was a wet rag being washed.

The Nyechistyy felt his skull cave in slightly, he felt his muscles go numb and his bones snap like twigs.

There was an immense amount of pain burning his body at the moment, it felt like he was being dipped in hot oil and then being pierced by a thousand needles all over the blisters that formed because of it.

The pain was intense, every breath twisted the blade inside him until breathing itself became torture.

’The... lunatic... failed?’

"What? You thought that piece of filth was enough to stop me?" A voice sounded right beside the Nyechistyy’s ears as he hung limply in the air, suspended by the Warden’s tail in his stomach.

The Nyechistyy coughed up more blood, but his hand was still gripped tightly around his broken scimitar and his hard-earned locket that allowed him to use mana.

The Warden turned him around by curving his tail and brought him in front of his eyes that were practically shooting lasers with his fierce gaze.

’What did I ever do to this scumbag?’ the Nyechistyy thought to himself as he saw just how furious the Warden looked.

He’d never seen the demon so furious, he was usually ecstatic while seeing him in pain, but now it seemed like no matter how much pain he imparted onto the Nyechistyy it would never be enough.

’Seriously... what did I ever do to him!?’

"What did I ever do to you! You demon!!" the Nyechistyy finally shouted!

It wasn’t to argue or even really find the answer to the question.

After all, he’d asked the question a thousand times before while he was inside the prison getting beaten everyday for the past seventeen years and never gotten an answer.

No, he hadn’t asked the question to waste time and delay the inevitable.

Nor was it because he wanted to fill his being with as much mana as possible.

No, it was because currently his only hope was the system!

If he could activate it in the next few seconds, he could gain some over powered ability and beat the shit out of this Warden.

The Nyechistyy looked at the panel that only he could see.

[Eta : Thirty Seconds.]

The Warden looked at the Nyechistyy with disdain before speaking in a harsh tone.

"Don’t forget you’re a demon too, you filthy Nyechistyy!!!" The Warden seethed back while twisting the blade of his tail to inflict even more pain.

"AAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" the Nyechistyy put on the show that the Warden wanted so that he could delay even further.

But the pain really was getting unbearable, it felt like the blade of the Warden’s tail was corrosive since it kept burning his organs inside like someone had set them on fire.

"Yes!!! Squirm under me you worm!!!! Know your place beneath me!!!" The Warden twisted the blade deeper bringing out his clawed hands once again to caress the Nyechistyy’s tormented face.

[ETA : Ten Seconds]

"I don’t know what that man sees in you..."

[Eta : One Second]

"I don’t know why that man wants to keep people like you around..."

[The System Welcomes the Host to The Video Game Developer System!]

The Nyechistyy sighed in his mind.

"I don’t know why he wants to keep you alive when your kind is the foreshadowed doom-" The Warden was about to say more but was interrupted by the Nyechistyy.

"I knew I couldn’t rely on you, YOU GODDAMN PIECE OF SHIT!!!!" the Nyechistyy screamed regardless of what the Warden was going to think about him.

The Warden looked at the Nyechistyy in confusion and pin drop silence, stunned that the Nyechistyy had enough strength to talk back to him at this moment.

’What do I do!!??’ the Nyechistyy panicked, however at the same time he realised something else-

’I’m full!’

"Know this..." the Warden started with a deep frown on his face, "’He’ is the only reason you’re still alive-"

’Light.position = focus location;’

’Light.intensity = mana amount;’

The Warden was cut off once again as a sudden explosion of light took place on the battlefield, this explosion wasn’t as bright as the previous explosion.

No, it was even brighter!

Instead of a simple ball of light,

This was a glorious pillar of light!

The battlefield froze for a second as everyone turned to look at the pillar of light while simultaneously shielding their eyes from its brilliant glare.

The light lasted for ten entire seconds before it slowly faded away.

The Nyechistyy even with his eyes closed felt like someone had burned a hole in his retina since he couldn’t see anything.

"And what was that supposed to do?" The Warden asked calmly.

The Nyechistyy couldn’t see shit.

Yet he smiled.

"It wasn’t meant for you, you filthy piece of shit."

"Huh?" The Warden didn’t realise what the Nyechistyy meant, and the second he did he hurried to run, but before he could-

"Found you..."
