The Divine Dragon was utterly overwhelmed, quickly flying over to catch Zhaozhao as well.
Meanwhile, the other child nestled in the Divine Dragon’s arms laughed with delight.
Zhaozhao was awakened by the system, which informed him that the Divine Fruit beside him had been born ahead of schedule. Without a moment’s hesitation, he too broke free from the fruit vine.
Nestled in the Divine Dragon’s embrace, Zhaozhao slowly moved his tiny hands and feet. His memories were hazy and fragmented, but he vaguely recalled having a body like this before.
“Little brother, little brother.”
Startled by the sudden call, Zhaozhao looked up to see a lively child waving his hands and feet excitedly at him.
Since Divine Fruits could inherit the legacy of the Divine Tree, even in their infant forms, they could speak clearly and even possessed considerable knowledge.
Zhaozhao blinked his bewildered golden eyes slowly, instinctively sensing familiarity with this child.
“Chi Zhou, bring him over.”
Seeing the last Divine Fruit unexpectedly fall to the ground, Luo Chen’s handsome brows furrowed tightly.
Chi Zhou’s silver eyes were also filled with anxiety. As the Guardian Divine Beast of the Divine Tree, no one was more concerned about the two Divine Sons than he was.
Noticing Zhaozhao’s lowered head, Luo Chen spoke sternly, “Look up.”
Zhaozhao understood his meaning but had no time to react before Su, like a protective parent, snapped at Luo Chen, “No!”
Ignoring him, Luo Chen reached out and lifted Zhaozhao’s small head. Seeing those golden, watery eyes gazing at him in confusion, Luo Chen finally confirmed the answer.
“Ahhh, let go of my little brother!”
Su struggled with great force, but Chi Zhou was no ordinary being—holding a child without Divine Power was effortless for him.
Amused by Su’s protective behavior, Chi Zhou couldn’t help but chuckle. “Little Divine Son, actually, you are the younger brother.”
To his surprise, the Divine Son immediately took offense upon hearing this. His already crimson eyes deepened to a dark red as he protested excitedly, “I landed and transformed first, so naturally, I’m the older brother.”
He slapped Chi Zhou’s arms with his hands but cast a pleading look at Zhaozhao.
“Let me down, and put my little brother down too.”
Chi Zhou hesitated, but Luo Chen finally spoke, “Put them down.”
As soon as Zhaozhao’s feet touched the ground, a tremendous force knocked him over. Without Divine Power to protect them, their bodies were as fragile as ordinary humans.
Zhaozhao felt a sharp pain in his back and bottom, his golden eyes involuntarily misting over.
Meanwhile, the child pinning him down happily called out “little brother” while pressing against him.
The child’s bright crimson eyes sparkled, filled entirely with Zhaozhao’s reflection. Zhaozhao sensed that he was deeply fond of him.
Suddenly, the weight lifted. Looking up, Zhaozhao saw Chi Zhou scooping the lively child back into his arms.
Noticing Zhaozhao still lying on the ground, Chi Zhou was about to bend down and help him up when the Divine Emperor hooked his collar and pulled him to his feet.
“Ahhh, don’t touch my little brother!”
The child remained highly vigilant toward Luo Chen, shouting at him incessantly.
Chi Zhou’s faint smile faded as the Divine Son in his arms threw another tantrum.
He patted the child’s bottom, his silver eyes filled with helplessness.
On the other side, Zhaozhao felt curious about this imposing “giant.” He looked up, blinking his large eyes as he stared intently.
Luo Chen, puzzled, met his gaze.
“You…”
After a moment’s thought, he realized the two prematurely born Divine Fruits had yet to be named.
Signaling for Chi Zhou to also set down the child in his arms, Luo Chen lowered his gaze, looking at the two children standing side by side—one with golden eyes, the other with crimson.
He spoke succinctly, “The character ‘Zhao’ suits your name well. What do you think?”
Luo Chen first addressed Zhaozhao.
Zhaozhao looked dazed, as if this moment overlapped with a fleeting memory.
In his hazy recollection, there seemed to have been a handsome man, his brow tinged with joy, asking him gently, “001 is too impersonal. How about I call you Zhaozhao?”
How about it?
Zhaozhao couldn’t remember how he had responded.
But hearing this name again, Zhaozhao truly liked it.
Seeing Zhaozhao nod, Luo Chen turned to the other child. “You shall be called Su.”
For once, Su didn’t argue and obediently nodded as well.
With his new name, he immediately turned to Zhaozhao excitedly. “Little brother, I have a name now.”
When he looked at Zhaozhao, his eyes shone as if they could glow.
Zhaozhao met his gaze and nodded in acknowledgment.
Seeing Zhaozhao finally respond to him, Su’s joy became even more evident. He eagerly said, “Little brother, I’m the older one. Call me ‘big brother.'”
He blinked his large eyes, staring intently, his anticipation barely concealed.
Zhaozhao looked puzzled. “But I’m your older brother.”
His consciousness had awakened several centuries earlier than Su’s.
Su’s expression fell as if the sky had collapsed. After all, he had forced himself to emerge early just to be the older brother.
Chi Zhou, who had been watching them closely, burst into laughter. “Hahahaha, I told you, Zhaozhao is the older brother.”
Su glared at him angrily, showing no respect for his elders.
In that moment of eye contact, the careless Chi Zhou finally noticed the unusual color of Su’s eyes and immediately stopped laughing.
“Your Majesty, this… this…”
He pointed at Su’s eyes, too shocked to speak.
“He is the Fruit of Evil.”
Chi Zhou had some knowledge of the Fruit of Evil, but even after living for tens of thousands of years, this was his first time truly seeing one.
“The Divine Tree bears two fruits—one good, one evil; one divine, one demonic.”
“Have you forgotten?”
Only when Luo Chen’s cold gaze swept over him did Chi Zhou snap back to reality. He lowered his head, glancing sideways at the bewildered Su, and murmured, “I… remember.”
As the Guardian Divine Beast of the Divine Tree, Chi Zhou was well aware of this legend. However, since it had never happened before, and he had been overjoyed by the Divine Tree bearing fruit—two at once—he hadn’t given it any thought.
He crouched down, looking at this future potential enemy of the Divine Realm with a complicated expression, and asked Luo Chen in confusion, “Then what… what should we do with him?!”
Chi Zhou gritted his teeth as he asked, unsure whether the cold and heartless Divine Emperor would utter something merciless.
“Since he is here, let him stay.”
Luo Chen glanced at him and said slowly, “Let Chu Yi teach him.”
