Night deepened.

Lin Yanchen sat in his study, reviewing contracts on his computer.

At that moment, his phone vibrated once.Full novel: Transmigrated as the Male Lead’s Vicious First Love and Kissed Until Crying — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He ignored it and continued reading.

It vibrated again. Then again.

Lin Yanchen finally set down his mouse and picked up the phone.

Pei Qian: 【<chat log>】

Pei Qian: 【When did we start missing how sharp-tongued Song Tang is?】

Pei Qian: 【She talked Xi Shuting into silence. Xi Shuting didn’t even dare to show her face.】

Lin Yanchen: 【Since when are you so interested in Song Tang’s affairs?】

Pei Qian: 【Someone sent it to me. I just forwarded it to you.】

Pei Qian: 【Song Tang is your nominal girlfriend after all. Aren’t you curious?】

Lin Yanchen: 【I’m busy. No time.】

Pei Qian: 【Just take a look. Also, the Song family’s situation seems worse than we thought.】

Pei Qian: 【They can’t even pay a fifty million supply debt anymore.】

Lin Yanchen: 【Normal. Times are changing, and Song Zhenkun’s vision hasn’t kept up. A decline was inevitable.】

Pei Qian: 【Do you think the Song family can still repay the fifty million?】

Lin Yanchen: 【With Song Zhenkun and those executives, they won’t be able to repay it.】

Pei Qian: 【Then it’s over. Qin Yuwei is definitely going to mock Song Tang to death. Song Tang was so arrogant today, she’ll be humiliated later.】

Pei Qian: 【She’s your nominal girlfriend. You’re not going to help her?】

Lin Yanchen: 【Am I that free? Or are you?】

Pei Qian: 【Alright, I’ll stop talking.】

The next morning:

Song Tang woke up to her alarm.

No need for Song Zhenkun, that doting father, to wake her anymore, the alarm clock was more reliable.

She opened her eyes, stared at the ceiling for two seconds, then sat up in one motion.

After washing up, she picked out a professional suit from her wardrobe.

The walk-in closet had already been changed into her preferred style.

Downstairs, Song Zhenkun was sitting at the dining table reading the news.

Hearing footsteps, he looked up and froze slightly.

His daughter was walking down the stairs in a tailored business suit, her back straight and composed.

He had never seen this side of her before. There was an inexplicable aura about her.

Song Tang walked to the table and sat down, taking a sip of milk.

“Morning, Dad.”

Song Zhenkun snapped back to reality. “Morning.”

He set down his phone and studied her face.

Recently, her makeup has changed as well.

Before, her face was layered with heavy foundation, purple eyeshadow, thick false lashes, and blush so exaggerated it looked like a monkey’s backside.

Even as her biological father, he could barely look at it.

He had once told her it didn’t look good, but she hadn’t listened and even insisted he didn’t understand aesthetics.

Now she has finally returned to normal.

Clean, fresh, and comfortable to look at.

“Dad, what are you looking at?” Song Tang asked, confused.

“Nothing.” Song Zhenkun smiled. “I’m just happy.”

Song Tang nodded. “As long as Dad is happy. I’ll go to the company with your car later.”

“Alright.” He agreed without hesitation.

Being able to go to work with his daughter was something he had never dared to imagine before.

His child had truly grown up.

A sense of satisfaction rose in Song Zhenkun’s heart.

After breakfast, they left together.

The car drove out of the villa district and merged into the morning traffic.

Leaning against the seat, Song Tang looked out at the passing streets and suddenly spoke.

“Dad.”

“Mm?” Song Zhenkun looked up from his phone.

“I’ve prepared a plan to solve the Qin family’s fifty million payment issue.”

He paused slightly. So she hadn’t given up on this matter.

Looking at her serious expression, he felt a complicated emotion.

It was good that she was taking initiative for the first time.

But with her level of experience, what kind of solution could she possibly come up with for fifty million?

Even if she had changed recently, she couldn’t become a business genius overnight.

Still, looking at her bright, expectant eyes, he didn’t say anything harsh.

Even if he didn’t believe it, he couldn’t discourage her enthusiasm.

So he simply smiled and nodded.

“Alright.”

“When we get to the company, show it to me.”

When they arrived at the company, Song Tang went straight to Song Zhenkun’s office with her laptop.

She had stayed up until two in the morning refining the plan, revising it repeatedly.

But when she reached the door, she found it closed.

The secretary in the outer office looked up and quickly stood.

“Vice President Song, President Song is in a video meeting with the shareholders.”

Song Tang nodded. “Then I’ll come back later.”

She turned and walked away with her laptop.

Inside the office, Song Zhenkun sat behind his desk. The screen in front of him was split into three windows, each showing a middle-aged man.

“President Song,” the man on the left spoke, his tone unfriendly, “why did you abandon that commercial complex project?”

Song Zhenkun leaned back, expression calm.

“It’s not suitable.”

“Not suitable?” the man in the middle frowned. “I’ve seen the due diligence report. The data is excellent. You’re telling me it’s not suitable?”

The man on the right spoke slowly, but his tone was equally sharp.

“President Song, I heard it was Song Tang who said it wasn’t suitable?”

“She’s only just graduated, right? Barely a year out of university, hasn’t even worked a single day. What can she possibly decide?”

“Exactly.” The left shareholder added, “I know you dote on your daughter, but this is too reckless. That’s five billion in profit.”

His tone grew heavier.

“The company is already under financial pressure. If we don’t take on more projects to earn money, are we just waiting for the capital chain to break?”

They kept pressing him one after another.

Song Zhenkun’s expression remained unchanged.

When they finally finished, he spoke calmly.

“I will not take that project.”

All three shareholders frowned simultaneously.

He continued, “The issues with that project were already made clear by Song Tang during the meeting.”

“I will not consider it again.”

“If the project truly turns out as smoothly as the report claims and generates five billion in profit,”

“I am willing to take responsibility and step down as CEO, never interfering in company operations again.”

Silence fell instantly. Step down as CEO?

That was far too heavy a statement.

The left shareholder opened his mouth, then closed it again.

The middle shareholder’s dissatisfaction faded slightly, replaced by something more complicated.

After a few seconds, the right shareholder also nodded.

“Fine, we’ll trust you this time.”

The other two followed suit. The video meeting ended, and the screens went dark.

Song Zhenkun leaned back in his chair and exhaled slowly.

He wasn’t blindly trusting his daughter.

He simply didn’t dare take risks anymore.

The company could no longer withstand turbulence.
