Huo Zhi Chuan was disappointed in today’s younger generation.

When the summit forum ended, he received two messages.

One from Xiao Liu, saying Miss Chu had gone off alone again less than 24 hours after she was last “brought back.”Full novel: Transmigrated as the Scheming Pregnant Ex of the Heirless Male Lead — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Another from Gu Qianxi’s bodyguard, saying Miss Gu had organized another gathering exactly one week after her card had just been frozen.

He personally drove his Rolls-Royce to Yun Ding Hotel.

And yet, it felt like he had spotted another little runaway cat.

The man’s sharp, hawk-like gaze seemed almost tangible as it locked onto the small figure of the woman.

Under the black, slightly curled hair, the short black bodycon skirt outlined obvious curves. Her pale legs looked soft and flushed, like a ripe peach tender and inviting.

There seemed to still be faint marks left from his fingers last night.

Chu Ningwu had no idea that Huo Zhi Chuan was standing right behind her. She was still speaking to Second Young Master Jiang.

“I’ve never drunk alcohol before, so I don’t know if I can handle it. But you have to buy the wine first before I can drink with you.”

In her mind, buying wine was just like buying bottled water at a supermarket you pay first, then you consume it.

But to everyone else, the meaning sounded completely different, full of implication.

Second Young Master Jiang felt a slight stir in his heart, just about to respond, when he suddenly met the man’s gaze at the door.

His expression changed instantly.

He recognized Huo Xiansheng. He absolutely did not dare flirt in front of him.

Moreover, Huo Xiansheng’s expression was clearly wrong—dark, cold, like a human-shaped ice box radiating chill.

He coughed lightly and stepped back a little while glancing toward the door.

Only then did Chu Ningwu realize, belatedly, that the entire room felt like someone had dropped an ice mushroom inside—everyone frozen in place.

She turned around.

Oh shit.

Wasn’t she told that Huo Xiansheng only handled payments and never participated in their entertainment?

Then what was this?

Was he here to personally catch the female lead and slap her into reality while humiliating her, the villainess?

Chu Ningwu’s grip tightened on her skirt. Her face turned red and pale in turns, and she suddenly wanted to escape.

She could not explain it clearly why she already knew the male lead would end up with the female lead, yet still could not bear to see it happen in front of her.

Maybe this was the fate of a villainess.

Huo Zhi Chuan felt a faint irritation.

Chu Ningwu was supposed to be a front desk staff at Yun Ding why was she here doing liquor sales?

And upon seeing him, she did not even greet him.

She was clearly the one laughing and chatting with others here, yet she still looked like she had been deeply wronged.

Wronged to the point she looked like she might cry.

“So this is your so-called part-time job?” Huo Zhi Chuan said coldly.

His gaze landed on her for a moment before he walked past her side and sat down on the sofa. He took out a cigar from his pocket, placed it between his lips, and spoke in a low, indifferent voice.

That single sentence was like a stone dropped into a calm but dark lake, instantly breaking the surface tension.

Shock rippled through everyone.

Huo Xiansheng clearly knew this liquor saleswoman!

And it looked like… a very unusual relationship!

Second Young Master Jiang kept signaling Gu Qianxi with his eyes so frantically his eyelids almost cramped, terrified of offending someone he should not.

But Gu Qianxi was equally confused.

Wasn’t Brother Chuan here to lecture her about wasting money?

Chu Ningwu did not dare speak. She lowered her gaze, avoiding everyone’s stares.

She hated being the center of attention.

Young Master Ji, realizing his father’s company was currently bidding on a Huo Group project at a critical stage, hurried over laughing, pulling out a lighter.

“Huo Zong, what brings you here to play with Qianxi today?”

The man only lifted his eyelids slightly and glanced at him coldly, avoiding the flame.

“Keep playing. I’ll just watch.”

Everyone internally screamed in despair.

With Huo Xiansheng here, how were they supposed to continue?

Gu Qianxi was the first to give up. She walked over with a big-sister aura.

“I’ll leave with you. I’m not playing anymore. This was my gathering anyway—don’t make things hard for them, okay?”

Huo Zhi Chuan remained seated like an old monk in meditation.

“I said continue.”

His tone carried barely restrained irritation and undeniable pressure.

Gu Qianxi did not dare argue again. She picked up a cue stick and nudged Second Young Master Jiang.

“Come on, show some talent for my brother.”

The white-haired young man jumped slightly from the poke and obediently picked up his cue stick.

Huo Zhi Chuan’s gaze then fell on Chu Ningwu again.

She seemed to sense it and looked up.

Their eyes met.

She saw the same desire in his eyes as last night.

She immediately felt unlucky.

He was going to tease her again.

The man shifted his posture, crossed his long legs, and curled a finger toward her.

Like someone walking to their doom, Chu Ningwu walked over.

Before she could react, she was pulled down to sit beside him.

Gasps echoed through the room.

None of them had ever seen Huo Zhi Chuan allow a woman to sit so close.

Second Young Master Jiang’s hand trembled so badly he could barely hold the cue stick. He tried to hide behind Gu Qianxi, wishing to disappear entirely.

Gu Qianxi kicked him in frustration. He took it without complaint.

“You’re short on money?” Huo Zhi Chuan asked directly.

“Yes.” Chu Ningwu admitted honestly, then looked up at him with watery, sincere eyes. “What wine do you want, Huo Xiansheng?”

In her mind, he was simply here to relax after work and had dragged her over because no one his age wanted to play with him.

She, however, had business to do.

She had not forgotten she was here to sell wine.

Everyone else was stunned.

This was not how business was done.

Huo Zhi Chuan gave a low, cold laugh.

They all thought she would be thrown out the next second.

Instead, he asked,

“What wine do you want to sell me?”

Chu Ningwu hesitated.

Saying “Hennessy Richard” directly felt too deliberate.

A good salesperson should understand human nature.

So she shook her head.

“Whatever Huo Xiansheng likes, we have it. I don’t know what you prefer.”

Huo Zhi Chuan took out his phone, opened the dialing interface, and handed it to her.

“Enter your contact number. I’ll open three bottles of Hennessy Richard for you.”

Second Young Master Jiang leaned toward Gu Qianxi and whispered,

“He’s supposed to be bad at flirting? Look at him now, he’s completely shameless.”

Gu Qianxi stepped on his foot again.

“Shut up. You’re the worst one here.”

She was genuinely speechless.

He told her not to be a sucker.

Turns out he just wanted to be one himself.
