Yan Jin’er was in one room, Father Song and Song mother were in one room, Song Qingran and Zhaozhao were in one room, and there was another room reserved for the so-called “cheap big brother” Song Zhaoli.

Originally, there had not been so many rooms. They had all been renovated before Father Song and Song mother got married, so that each child had their own room.

Even Song Qingran, who had already married out, still had one. In Father Song and Song mother’s view, even if a daughter got married, she was still their daughter and still part of the family.Full novel: Transmigrated into a 1970s Novel: I’m Great at Lazing Around and Watching the Drama — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Early the next morning, Song mother got up and prepared breakfast.

The others, hearing the movement, gradually got up one after another to wash up and help prepare breakfast.

Today Song Qingran also had to go to work, so in the morning Zhaozhao had to be sent back to her mother-in-law’s house to be taken care of before Song Qingran went to work.

So it was decided that Father Song would send Zhaozhao back, while Song mother would conveniently send Song Qingran to work, since her hospital route just happened to pass by the state-owned restaurant where Song Qingran worked.

Because of this, Yan Jin’er took the initiative to offer the bicycle to Song mother and the others. She raised her hand and said she could just walk there herself anyway—it was not that far.

After finishing breakfast, Yan Jin’er set off.

She strolled all the way to the entrance of the Textile Factory.

From a distance, she saw a tall, striking figure standing at the factory gate.

He wore a high-quality sheepskin coat. His features were like a painting—his eyes like stars. Beneath his not-too-thick, not-too-thin sword-like brows, his long narrow eyes looked like flowing spring water, gentle and refreshing like a spring breeze, as if carrying deep, lingering affection.

Every time Yan Jin’er met his gaze, she felt as if she was about to drown in his gentle eyes.

Just one glance made her heart pound.

“Is he waiting for me?” Yan Jin’er stopped walking. Her eyes were fixed entirely on that figure, and this thought unconsciously surfaced in her mind.

Wen Qingyu saw the chubby little figure he had been waiting for, and a gentle smile burst into his eyes.

It was autumn, so the weather had turned a little cold. Because Yan Jin’er was very afraid of cold, she had already put on a thick cotton jacket and cotton pants, making her look a little round.

Yan Jin’er watched helplessly as that figure walked right up to her. Luckily, she had set off early today, so there were not many people heading to work, and she did not see any familiar faces around.

“Comrade Jin’er, may I go somewhere with you to say a few words?”

Yan Jin’er could not resist his soft, low voice at all and followed Wen Qingyu stupidly from behind.

Seeing her like this, Wen Qingyu could not help but let out a low chuckle.

The moment Yan Jin’er heard it, her heart instantly started racing and her face turned red. She thought to herself that it was definitely not that her resistance was weak—it was just that he was too much.

“Comrade Jin’er, do you have time these two days? A new movie has been released at the screening room recently. May I invite you to watch it together?”

“Tomorrow is fine.” Her mouth was always faster than her brain. Yan Jin’er immediately covered her face. She felt like she could already switch to another world to live in.

“Alright, then I will wait for you here tomorrow afternoon.”

“Then I’ll go to work first. You should head back too.” Yan Jin’er wanted to leave already, feeling that if she stayed any longer, she might not even be able to keep herself together.

“Take these back and eat them.” Wen Qingyu stuffed the food he was carrying into Yan Jin’er’s arms, and before she could refuse, he had already stepped away.

Wen Qingyu stopped not far away and watched the small figure happily bouncing into the Textile Factory gate. The corners of his lips lifted slightly, and his eyes were filled with deep amusement.

Ever since the National Day performance last time, when he saw Yan Jin’er constantly eating snacks, he had found her very cute. So he had prepared pastries, dried meat, and candies in advance, and now they came in handy.

Yan Jin’er was still the first one to arrive at the office that day, so she picked up the broom and swept the floor. Just as she finished, the others gradually arrived.

The morning was still the usual light attendance work. At noon, she arranged to have lunch at the canteen with Cheng Yu and Zhao Jing.

“What’s wrong with those two? The atmosphere feels so strange.” Yan Jin’er glanced sideways at the two people not sitting together. She found it odd—they usually acted like they were glued together.

“They probably had a conflict. I heard they argued this morning over a woman, and then they got called out by the department head because of work issues. Now things are even worse between them.” Zhao Jing glanced at them and quietly shared the gossip with Yan Jin’er.

“A woman? Who? Which female colleague is that… so bold as to compete with the Factory Director’s daughter over a fiancé?” Yan Jin’er’s gossip radar immediately stood up.

“It’s probably not a female worker in the factory. I heard that at the factory gate this morning, Li Ping helped a girl who looked like she was about to faint, and that girl looked very pitiful,” Chen Xiaohong added, since she had seen it herself.

“So many people standing there didn’t help, and only him—a male comrade with a fiancée—went to help?” Yan Jin’er was truly stunned. She had not expected Li Ping to be such a warm-hearted person.

“The key is that Tang Miao happened to see it at the time, and that’s how things blew up later.” Yan Jin’er felt that this was truly a full-on dramatic battlefield.

He already had a fiancée, yet still helped another young female comrade like that. With so many people around, he could have just asked a female colleague to help instead.

Or if he really wanted to be “kind,” then he should also accept his fiancée kindly taking care of a handsome male comrade.

The three of them ate while gossiping about the situation. When they finished and left, those two still had not reconciled. No one knew if there would be any more dramatic developments later on.
