It was hot.
Very hot.
Xi Qingqing felt like she was burned. She tried to pull her hand back, but Mo Fuqing held it tightly and pressed it down.
Her palm felt like it was touching fire.
Even though she didn’t like snakes, Mo Fuqing was very handsome. His black scales shined under the light, and his strong tail made him look mysterious and attractive.
She leaned closer and whispered something in his ear.
His ears turned red, but his face stayed calm.
“I am your mate. It is my duty to serve you,” he said.
“Is that so?” she smiled.
He held her hand tighter.
Unlike the others, he had never received kindness from her before. He had always been treated coldly.
So he remembered everything—hate, pain, and even small moments of care.
A cold snake tail slowly wrapped around her ankle.
The tip of the tail trembled slightly.
It lifted in front of her like a thin rope.
Before she could touch it, it wrapped around her finger by itself.
Cool… but strong.
She smiled. “It feels nice. I heard snake tails are sensitive. Why are you letting me touch it so easily?”
The tail trembled more.
He was trying hard to control himself.
She suddenly grabbed the tip of the tail.
His whole body froze.
A strong feeling ran through him, and his eyes turned red.
“Princess…” he said in a low voice.
“It’s daytime,” she said lightly. “Come find me tonight.”
He looked at her, unable to speak.
Suddenly, a voice interrupted them.
“Master! What do you want to eat tonight? Hua Yun said he will cook!”
Mo Fuqing quickly pulled his tail back and turned into human form.
Xue Xi ran in, slightly out of breath.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“I thought you were resting,” he said.
Mo Fuqing sat stiffly, trying to hide his expression.
Xi Qingqing stood up. “I’ll go take a look.”
As she walked past him, her dress brushed lightly against his leg.
At the door, she suddenly turned back and gave him a small flying kiss.
Only he saw it.
His eyes darkened.
Xi Qingqing went to the kitchen.
She smelled something fresh and sweet and felt excited.
She really wanted someone who could cook proper food.
She opened the door.
On the table were:
Cold cucumber salad.
Cold cabbage salad.
Cold radish salad.
All cold dishes.
Her excitement dropped a little.
“Princess, try it! These are my family recipes!” Hua Yun said proudly.
She sat down and tried the food.
“It’s good,” she said.
“Really good.”
Hua Yun became excited. “If you like it, I can cook for you every day! I even eat iron pots when I’m stressed!”
“Iron… pots?” She was shocked.
She smiled and said, “Do you have a job? If not, would you like to be my cook?”
Hua Yun was surprised. “But I only know how to make cold dishes…”
“I can teach you,” she said. “I can teach you hot dishes too.”
“Like fried meat and steamed fish.”
He was shocked.
“Those recipes were lost long ago…”
“I know them,” she said. “I can teach you.”
She listed many dishes.
Hua Yun was stunned.
“Really? If you teach me, I will cook for you forever!”
He quickly bowed deeply.
“Please accept me as your student, Princess!”
