Xi Qingqing looked into his eyes. Honestly, she could understand Jiang Fei’s feelings.

He was forced to stay with someone who treated him badly. He couldn’t resist, and if he did, he would die. If it were her, she would have chosen to die together with that person long ago.

But the problem was she was not Jiang Fei.Full novel: Transmigrated Into A Book As A Vicious Female: Overpowered By Beast Husbands! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

So she had to put her own interests first.

She was willing to accept the beast husbands left behind by the original owner.

After all, they were all extremely handsome.

But Jiang Fei’s personality was too fierce. If she forced him, it would only make things worse.

So she decided to handle him in a different way.

She smiled gently.

“I don’t keep people who want to leave. So if you want to go, no matter how many divorce papers there are, I will sign them.”

“Just behave and don’t be so aggressive. Jiang Fei, understand?”

She gently placed her hand on his head and rubbed it.

It felt like how someone would treat a pet—but for the first time, Jiang Fei didn’t feel disgusted.

Maybe it was because he was badly injured or because his mind was confused.

Looking at the face he once hated, his heart suddenly beat faster.

He pressed his lips tightly and forced out a few words:

“I understand.”

“Good.”

Xi Qingqing praised him and turned away.

She picked up the injured fox and the rabbit and walked back.

She could heal Xue Xi, but she was too hungry. She decided to eat first.

Near the door, she suddenly remembered something and turned around.

Jiang Fei was slowly following her. When she looked back, he stiffened.

She walked up to him and held out her hand.

“You haven’t given me your private money yet.”

Jiang Fei stared at her blankly.

She thought he would argue again, but instead he said,

“It’s in the grass nest.”

He didn’t carry money on him.

“Good, very obedient,” she said.

She turned and left.

Jiang Fei stood there, looking at his rough hands. He remembered her soft palm and how it had touched the fox’s head.

…

Xi Qingqing went to the nest and took the money. It was wrapped in plastic.

Even though this world had technology, living with these beast husbands made her feel like she was in ancient times.

She put the money away and started cooking.

Yesterday, she didn’t have enough time or ingredients, so the meat tasted a bit bad.

Now, with the supermarket, she had everything—cooking wine, ginger, and green onions. She easily removed the smell and boiled the meat.

She told Xue Xi to clean the house while she cooked.

Oil sizzled in the pot. She fried the meat until golden and shiny.

Then she added water and salt and let it stew.

This was how she usually made soup—simple but delicious.

After about one and a half hours, the meat was ready.

She turned around and saw both of her husbands behind her—one standing, one sitting.

She gave the pig head and feet to Jiang Fei.

Those parts were hard to eat, and Xue Xi was injured.

Lions had strong teeth—they could handle it.

Jiang Fei looked at the bowl, then at her, then walked back to the grass nest.

She served two bowls—one for herself and one for Xue Xi.

The “table” was broken and shaky. She used bricks to stabilize it.

When she came back, she saw Xue Xi staring at her.

Up close, she realized he was sniffing the air.

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

“It smells so good,” he said softly.

“So weak,” she teased. “Stay with me, and you’ll eat like this every day.”

She gave him more fatty meat.

“Eat.”

He blinked, swallowed, and quickly ate.

It was hot, but he still swallowed it.

“Is it good?” she asked.

He nodded quickly.

Maybe because of her past life, Xi Qingqing also felt the food was especially delicious.

After eating, she asked,

“Where do our neighbors live? I haven’t seen anyone.”

Xue Xi said, “There are no neighbors. Only us.”

Then he added,

“There used to be. But the pollution infected the snake tribe ahead. The area within ten kilometers became a polluted zone.”

“Everyone moved to Qingshui Town, 150 kilometers away.”

Qingshui Town?

Xi Qingqing asked the system:

【What was the original owner’s mission here?】

【Qingshui Town is her territory. She must clear the pollution and restore peace. 】

That matched her own mission.

But then she realized something.

Only females with beast cores could purify pollution.

Yet people in the capital knew the original owner didn’t have a beast core and still sent her here.

Wasn’t that the same as sending her to die?

No wonder the original owner was so angry.

“Female master, do you want to move back to Qingshui Town?” Xue Xi asked.

She nodded.

He hesitated.

“But…”

“Say it.”

He lowered his voice.

“Princess Anning is from Qingshui Town. The people there admire her.”

Xi Qingqing didn’t recognize the name at first.

Then the system said:

【Anning is Xi Yuanyuan’s title.】

So in her own territory, people admired her enemy?

After a moment, she smiled.

“Interesting.”

No one could take what belonged to her—not even the so-called heroine.
