Ji Yuhan froze for a moment, then stared at the phone in disbelief.
What was Su Qian doing?
Picking up men at a nightclub?
She had actually gone clubbing to find a guy?!
That woman… if she was doing this just to make him angry, then she had gone way too far!
Taking a deep breath to suppress his rage, Ji Yuhan gritted his teeth and warned her, “Come home right now, Su Qian. Even acting out has its limits.”
A young man’s voice came from the other end of the line, soft and puppy-like.
“Hello, big sister. I’m Xiao Lan. Thank you for choosing me…”
Ji Yuhan’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
What kind of guy was this? His voice was all sweet and clingy. Were all the men in nightclubs these manipulative pretty boys?
Then he heard Su Qian giggle.
“Good, good, Xiao Lan. Come here, sit beside me.”
She had actually picked this guy?!
A surge of fury shot from Ji Yuhan’s chest straight to his head, and he could no longer sit still.
Ever since Su Qian had returned to the Su family at the age of fifteen, for five whole years she had followed him everywhere. No matter how much he mocked or humiliated her, she never left. It was as if she was willing to endure any grievance, just to obtain a place by his side.
He had long grown used to having her chase after him.
And now she dared to hire a male escort?
Su Qian didn’t even seem to be listening to him anymore. His voice turned icy, carrying a heavy warning.
“Su Qian, do you think this will accomplish anything? You know I hate—”
“Why are you talking so much?” Su Qian interrupted impatiently. “You called me in the middle of the night just to throw a tantrum? What I do is none of your business.”
“Fine. Very good, Su Qian.” Ji Yuhan’s breathing trembled with anger. “Don’t come begging me in the future.”
“Beg you for what? Are you still half asleep?” Su Qian laughed at him. “The only thing I’d ever pray for is for you to hurry up and die.”
“Who’s that?” another man’s voice came from the other side, sounding delicate and effeminate. Ji Yuhan didn’t recognize him either.
“A spam caller,” Su Qian answered bluntly before hanging up.
When Ji Yuhan called back, the line wouldn’t go through.
Even his manager’s number had been blocked by Su Qian.
Very well…
Very well indeed!
His chest rose and fell violently as he clenched the jade prayer beads in his hand so tightly that his fingers dug into the spaces between them.
If this woman was trying to get his attention…
Then congratulations—she had succeeded.
He glared at Su Qian’s number on his phone as though flames could burst from his eyes.
His manager looked troubled, while Su Muyao, standing nearby, had a wary gleam flash across her eyes.
As expected, Ji Yuhan was gradually falling into Su Qian’s trap.
But for Su Muyao, this was a perfect opportunity.
After a brief thought, she smiled gently at Ji Yuhan.
“It’s alright, Ah Han. Maybe Qianqian just wants a little excitement. She’s probably not doing this on purpose to make you angry.”
Turning to the manager, she asked, “Can you find out where she is? It’s so late already. Maybe we should send someone to bring her home.”
“Leave her alone!” Ji Yuhan cut her off coldly.
“Hm? But it’s already very late…” Su Muyao looked at him with feigned confusion.
“If she wants to fool around, then let her. What does that have to do with me?” Ji Yuhan said icily. “…I don’t believe she can stir up any real trouble.”
Su Muyao sighed, looking deeply concerned.
“Alright then. I’ll call home and ask when she’s coming back,” she said soothingly.
Ji Yuhan remained silent.
She knew that his silence meant agreement, and it made her even more certain.
Su Qian could not be allowed to stay.
She quickly called the family chauffeur.
The driver reported that he had dropped Su Qian off at EF and was still waiting for her in a parking lot two blocks away.
Smiling, Su Muyao turned to Ji Yuhan.
“Don’t worry, Ah Han. Qianqian’s at EF. I’ve heard the place is quite safe, and the driver is nearby too. You don’t need to worry.”
Ji Yuhan snorted coldly as he stood up, rolling the prayer beads in his hand.
“Do whatever she wants,” he said indifferently.
But Su Muyao smiled.
Lowering her head, she quickly contacted the paparazzo she trusted most, sending him several messages along with a substantial transfer.
[This is your deposit. Once you get the photos, I’ll pay you five times more.]
Su Qian felt like she had wasted the first twenty-plus years of her life!
Sure enough, she had only been honest and well-behaved because she had been poor!
Once you suddenly became rich, who could possibly hold onto their principles?
The VIP booth was covered with expensive imported liquor, and handsome men of every imaginable style filled the seats.
Three sat on her left and three on her right, surrounding her in the center. Not only were they good-looking, but they were also incredibly sweet, calling her “big sister” and “baby” until her head was spinning.
One moment they were feeding her fruit, the next they were pouring her drinks. They even playfully competed for her attention, jumping onto the table in front of her and breaking into energetic dances.
Those handsome faces…
Those abs…
Wow…
What kind of luxurious, decadent dream life was this?!
Meanwhile, Zhong Qi and the others were having the time of their lives. Jiang Can had even dragged several of the handsome guys onto the stage to dance, causing the entire club to erupt with cheers and screams.
Su Qian was thoroughly enjoying the show.
Just then, Fang Lingxue walked over carrying a glass of wine and sat beside her.
Su Qian immediately raised her own glass and clinked it against hers.
Smiling faintly, Fang Lingxue took a sip before saying, “Congratulations on finally letting go and moving on from everything involving Su Muyao.”
Su Qian drank with her.
Actually, she had always been curious why Fang Lingxue had consistently opposed the story’s male and female leads, only to end up driven into bankruptcy by them.
“But it seems like you dislike Su Muyao too. Why?” Su Qian asked.
“I simply can’t stand her,” Fang Lingxue replied calmly. “Besides, the Ji family has wanted to swallow up my family’s business for a long time.”
So she was a career-focused queen!
Fang Lingxue was already stunningly beautiful, with an elegant yet icy temperament.
Su Qian instantly fell in love with her.
Before Su Qian could say anything else, Fang Lingxue leaned closer until she was right by her ear.
“But you should be careful too,” she whispered.
“I think someone’s here looking for you.”
Su Qian paused.
Turning her head to follow Fang Lingxue’s gaze, she spotted a suspicious-looking figure hiding in a corner with a camera pointed directly at her.
Damn.
A paparazzo!
She had only just signed up for a reality show and hadn’t even entered the entertainment industry yet. Why was a paparazzo already stalking an ordinary person like her?
Su Qian nodded gratefully to Fang Lingxue, then stood up and lightly patted the long leg of the handsome guy sitting beside her.
“I’m going to the restroom,” she said.
The young man immediately stood up eagerly.
“Big sister, shall I go with you?”
Su Qian glanced toward the paparazzo in the corner, then nodded. Pretending to be drunk, she leaned against the young man as they staggered toward the restroom.
Which just so happened to be in the paparazzo’s direction.
She saw him cautiously duck behind a hiding spot, camera raised, preparing to snap some close-up shots.
Su Qian acted as though she hadn’t noticed, leaning lazily against her companion and pretending she could barely walk.
Until she got close enough.
Suddenly, she shoved the young man aside and charged straight at the paparazzo!
Startled, he froze for a split second before turning to run.
Ha!
Too late!
Su Qian dashed forward in a few quick strides, and just as she was about to catch him—
A long, elegant hand reached out and firmly grabbed the paparazzo by the collar, lifting him clean off his feet.
At the same time, Su Qian crashed headfirst into the stranger’s arms.
