“What kind of request is that?”
“Who am I even going to marry?”
Su Qian was completely baffled.
But Lu Yan was a man of few words, and after saying that, he didn’t explain any further.
Whatever, she thought.
She didn’t understand it, but she respected it.
So she agreed to his condition and officially signed the contract.
Deal done!
After settling everything, Su Qian happily packed her luggage and headed off to join the show.
The filming location for “Heartbeat Star” was H City, a beautiful southern coastal city with pleasant weather and breathtaking scenery. Almost anywhere you pointed a camera looked like a magazine cover.
The production team had prepared a three-story villa.
The first floor served as a shared activity area, while the second and third floors contained the bedrooms. There was also a huge garden outside.
The guests would live together in the villa, getting to know one another as they searched for their soulmates.
And filming began the very moment the participants arrived at the airport.
At four o’clock that afternoon, the live broadcast officially started.
The moment it went live, the viewer count shot past ten million.
The guests were scheduled to meet at the airport, where the production crew had prepared a van parked outside the terminal.
The contestants would have to carry their own luggage, drive themselves, and then use the cryptic clues provided by the staff to find the “Starbeat Villa.”
A dedicated camera crew was already waiting at the airport, filming everything in real time.
[Ballads reporting in on time! Waiting for Yaoyao to get off the plane~]
“Ballads” was the nickname for Su Muyao’s fans. Ji Yuhan’s fans called themselves “Snowflakes,” and the couple’s shippers had their own fandom name as well—Twilight Rain.
[Ballad check-in +1!]
[Snowflake squad has arrived! Can’t wait to see Brother A-Han~]
[Twilight Rain fans gather here! Starting the stream by shipping them! ]
The comment section was almost entirely filled with fans from various fandoms, their messages flooding the screen.
There were also quite a few curious bystanders.
Clearly, they had all come because of Su Qian.
[Su Qian, Su Muyao, and Ji Yuhan should all be on the same flight, right? I’m so excited.]
[Hahaha, starting with a battlefield right away. This show’s insane.]
[So who exactly is Ji Yuhan dating now? Can someone explain?]
[Being able to watch this drama while slacking off at work is the blessing I’ve earned from years of 996.]
Just then, the first guest appeared on camera.
A flowing white dress fluttered gently in the breeze, revealing a pair of slender legs beneath it.
She wore sunglasses and a woven straw hat, giving off a fresh, vacation-like vibe that was especially refreshing in the summer heat.
She pulled a small carry-on suitcase that perfectly matched her outfit.
The moment she noticed the camera, she smiled sweetly, removed her sunglasses, and waved.
[Yaoyao’s beauty is absolutely unreal!]
[Oh my god, she’s so gorgeous I’m actually crying!!]
[This is what a real princess looks like—not like certain crazy women online who just throw tantrums all day.]
[Cheering for our fairy princess Yaoyao!]
As soon as everyone realized the first guest was Su Muyao, her fans went wild.
On-screen, she pulled her suitcase over to the camera crew.
“Thank you all for your hard work! Wow, am I the first one here?”
She covered her mouth in surprise before happily bouncing on the spot.
“I’m amazing!”
[Yaoyao is way too adorable! I’m dead!]
[Baby got here so early! Such a hardworking sweetheart!]
[Didn’t Brother A-Han come with her? I thought they’d be on the same flight!]
[Glad that troublemaker Su Qian isn’t here with Yaoyao.]
Meanwhile, Su Muyao walked over to the van and awkwardly opened the trunk.
“Then I’ll put my luggage away first!”
She grabbed the handle with both hands and tried to lift the suitcase into the back.
But the girl in the white dress looked so delicate and fragile that, after several attempts, she still couldn’t lift it.
The viewers burst into laughter.
[Hahaha! Strongwoman Yaoyao is so cute!]
[She’s so skinny—of course she can’t lift it. Can’t the production crew help her?]
[Wait… she can’t even lift a suitcase that small? Seriously?]
A few casual viewers expressed their doubts, but they were immediately drowned out by the fans.
[Yaoyao works so hard to maintain her figure for the camera, okay? What’s wrong with not being able to lift a suitcase?]
[What’s wrong with a girl being unable to carry heavy luggage? Some people are way too harsh.]
[Are you Su Qian fans? Stop embarrassing your idol.]
After all, Su Muyao and Ji Yuhan were the main couple of the story.
Their combined fandom was enormous and famously aggressive.
Within moments, the skeptical comments from ordinary viewers vanished beneath the sea of fan messages.
On-screen, Su Muyao’s cheeks flushed pink as she puffed them out cutely.
“Heave… ho…”
Just then, a long, elegant hand entered the frame.
“Let me.”
Ji Yuhan’s voice rang out.
The comment section instantly exploded.
Standing beside Su Muyao was Ji Yuhan himself.
Tall and striking, he wore an understated yet luxurious custom-made outfit. Behind his sunglasses, his sharp nose and perfectly sculpted lips made him look effortlessly handsome.
Wrapped around his wrist was the same string of green jade Buddhist prayer beads.
[AAAAAH! I’M SHIPPING THEM SO HARD!!]
[The show’s barely started and we’re already getting fed! Twilight Rain fans are living the dream!]
[Help! This is so romantic!!]
[He’s so handsome I’m about to faint!!]
“A-Han…”
Su Muyao blushed and shyly avoided his hand.
Without changing his expression, Ji Yuhan casually lifted her suitcase into the van with one hand.
His tone remained cool, but there was a trace of gentleness hidden within it.
“Why didn’t you wait for me? Why did you run off by yourself?”
“We’re filming a show…” Su Muyao replied softly, her face turning even redder.
The two interacted so naturally and effortlessly that they looked exactly like a real couple traveling together.
At that moment, another sweet female voice came from behind them.
“Wow, I can’t believe I get to watch a real couple being adorable the moment I join a dating show. I’m so lucky~”
The camera turned.
A popular young actress, Shu Suxiao, was walking over with her suitcase.
She wore an elegant designer-style outfit with a sweet, fashionable look, smiling brightly as she approached.
In the original novel, she was Su Muyao’s best friend and most loyal follower.
Under the excuse of “shipping the couple up close,” she constantly flattered the two leads, earning herself plenty of good roles and popularity in return.
“Xiaoxiao!”
Su Muyao squealed happily and ran over to hug her.
“Wow, this really feels like we’re all on vacation together!” Shu Suxiao laughed.
“I haven’t seen you in ages!”
The two put on a touching display of sisterly affection for the cameras, and the audience eagerly started shipping their friendship as well.
“Let me help you put your suitcase in the van!”
Su Muyao struck an energetic pose.
“Really? Mine’s pretty heavy,” Shu Suxiao replied.
At that moment, Ji Yuhan stepped forward again.
He bent down and picked up Su Muyao’s suitcase.
“You two get in the car. I’ll do it.”
“Huh?”
Shu Suxiao glanced at Su Muyao.
Su Muyao lowered her eyes shyly and whispered,
“A-Han thinks I’m too clumsy. He’s worried I’ll bump into your suitcase.”
