“Thank you,” Lin Jiao said softly from inside the vehicle. She hadn’t expected them to be willing to take her along.
Bai Zixi hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly either. It seemed she could no longer rely on the original storyline from now on.
Yan Shaoyu remained expressionless as he replied indifferently, “It was nothing. Just something we could do along the way.”

The black off-road vehicle continued speeding down the highway, drawing closer and closer to Imperial City.

She had always thought these people were very capable, but she hadn’t expected Bai Zixi to be so skilled as well.

In the blink of an eye, all the surrounding zombies had been taken down. After clearing the area, everyone headed up to the fifth floor.

The hotel consisted of rows of individual rooms. Since there were so many of them, they had no choice but to split up and stay in separate rooms.
Their room had two beds. With the electricity and water supply already cut off, the interior was quite dark.
Bai Zixi took a pile of snacks out of her backpack and placed them on the bed. She generously offered them to Lin Jiao.
“Lin Jiao, just take whatever you want to eat. Don’t be shy.”
“Thank you, Zixi.”
Lin Jiao felt deeply touched. Even someone she had only just met was treating her so kindly. Yet, the people she had once been close to had shown their true, ugly faces.
