5:00 p.m.

Bai Zixi sat up in bed and closed her eyes, sensing the energy within her body. As soon as she released her mental power, she could detect everything throughout the entire villa.

She then opened the system to check her attributes. Her physical constitution was S-rank, her mental strength was S-rank, and her light-element ability was Level 1.Full novel: Transmigrated Into a Novel’s Apocalypse: My White Lotus System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She nodded in satisfaction.

“008, open my gift pack.”

008 obediently replied, “Of course, Host.”

“Congratulations, Host! You have obtained an additional 50 square meters of storage space,” 008’s mechanical voice announced.

Her luck was pretty good. Her space now covered 100 square meters and was 10 meters high, with white walls on all four sides.

Bai Zixi put on a black tank top and gray athletic shorts before leaving her room. She wanted to release some of the excess energy in her body at the gym.

As soon as she opened the door, she saw Lin Jiao standing there with her hand raised, apparently about to knock.

“Lin Jiao, were you looking for me?”

“Zixi, could you teach me a few self-defense moves? I don’t want to become a burden to everyone,” Lin Jiao asked somewhat awkwardly.

After hearing her request, Bai Zixi looked troubled. She wasn’t even sure how good her own fighting skills were, so how could she teach someone else?

“Let’s go work out first. As for martial arts, how about I ask someone professional to teach you?”

“Okay, thank you, Zixi,” Lin Jiao replied gratefully as she walked beside her.

The two went up to the fifth-floor gym.

Construction was currently underway throughout the base, so there wasn’t much to explore. Fortunately, the villa had its own gym, which kept them from getting too bored.

The gym was empty at the moment. Aside from the two of them, only the four Yan family members—the father and his three sons—were staying in this building.

Bai Zixi hadn’t really wanted to live here either, but Uncle Yan had been so warm and welcoming that she couldn’t bring herself to refuse.

“Lin Jiao, do some warm-up exercises before you start working out,” Bai Zixi instructed. She was quite familiar with gym equipment.

Lin Jiao nodded and followed her through a few stretching exercises before stepping onto a treadmill to start running.

Bai Zixi walked over to the weightlifting area. She started by lifting a 50-pound dumbbell with just one hand.

It was so light!

She gradually increased the weight to 100 pounds, but it still didn’t feel like much.

She glanced toward the boxing ring in the corner, where a punching bag was hanging. An idea came to her, and she walked over.

Once inside the ring, Bai Zixi clenched her fist and punched the bag.

Then she unleashed all her strength, throwing five consecutive punches with both hands.

Just as she was about to continue, the punching bag suddenly split open, spilling sand all over the padded floor.

Huh?

Wasn’t this thing a little too fragile?

Just as she was about to find some cleaning supplies, the gym door opened, and Yan Shaochen and Yan Shaoyu walked in.

Bai Zixi froze for a moment, looking a little guilty.

She hadn’t meant to break anything. Surely she wouldn’t be punished for damaging a punching bag, right?

“Did you do this?”

Yan Shaochen’s dark eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at her guilty expression. He had already guessed the answer but still asked.

“I… I only gave it a little tap, and it broke,” she replied in a soft, timid voice.

This cold-faced eldest young master looked so serious!

Lin Jiao hurried over to stand beside Bai Zixi, looking flustered.

Why did these two men look so intimidating?

Yan Shaoyu found the sight somewhat amusing. What were those expressions on their faces? They looked like frightened, helpless little victims, as if someone had bullied them.

He hadn’t even said anything!

“Clean it up immediately.”

His deep voice rang out, completely devoid of warmth.

Bai Zixi and Lin Jiao quickly cleaned up the mess. Just as they were about to sneak away, a familiar voice called out again.

“Wait. Bai Zixi, get up here.”

Yan Shaochen was already standing inside the boxing ring, motioning for her to join him.

“Um… I’ve already finished exercising, and I’m a little tired,” she said.

She wasn’t stupid. Just looking at the intimidating aura surrounding him was enough to tell her that he was no ordinary opponent. His strength was definitely not to be underestimated.

She even suspected that he might already have awakened an ability.

Thinking of this, she immediately decided to verify her suspicion.

“008, help me check that guy’s attributes.”

Less than three seconds later, 008’s voice sounded in her ear.

“Yan Shaochen. Mental strength: S-rank. Physical constitution: SS-rank. Lightning-element ability: Level 1.”

What a powerhouse!

Wasn’t asking her to fight him basically asking her to get beaten up?

“From the moment you chose to become a soldier, you were expected to obey orders. Get up here. Don’t make me repeat myself.”

His attitude left no room for refusal.

Bai Zixi had no choice but to steel herself and climb into the boxing ring.

She could only hope that the cold-faced young master would go easy on her.
