Bai Zixi half-reclined on the bed and opened the system mall to check the prices and information about the supernatural abilities.
Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind: 30 points for one month, 300 points for permanent access, and 50 points for an upgrade.
Ice, Lightning, Light, and Darkness: 50 points for one month, 500 points for permanent access, and 80 points for an upgrade.
After becoming an ability user, a person would not only gain a source of energy within their body, but their mental strength and physical constitution would also improve. The higher their ability level, the more their mental strength and physical constitution needed to develop together in order to advance further.
People with stronger physiques could store more energy, while those with greater mental strength could control their abilities more easily.
How long someone could sustain their ability depended on their physical constitution, while the kinds of skills they could manifest from their abilities depended on their mental strength.
At present, Bai Zixi’s body had a B-grade physical constitution and C-grade mental strength, but she had no supernatural abilities.
Her physical constitution was already considered quite good among ordinary people, while her mental strength was only average.
She knew that in this novel, supernatural abilities could be upgraded by absorbing the crystal cores found inside zombies’ heads. However, these crystal cores had to be purified by someone with healing abilities before they could be used.
Her first goal was to obtain either a Light or Ice ability.
It wasn’t entirely because these abilities looked dazzling and impressive. Light abilities had powerful offensive capabilities and could also heal, while Ice abilities offered strong defensive capabilities and equally powerful attacks.
After making up her mind, Bai Zixi changed into a summer camouflage outfit and walked out of the room. She would have liked to dress in something more feminine, but unfortunately, her backpack contained nothing but camouflage clothes and black training outfits.
I definitely need to find an opportunity to visit a shopping mall!
When Han Shuo saw Bai Zixi coming out of the room, he asked with concern, “Are you feeling better?”
Bai Zixi sat down beside him and replied in a gentle voice, “I’m fine now. I just had a nightmare. Thank you.”

Han Shuo hadn’t expected Bai Zixi to speak so gently to him. She had always been rather cold and aloof before.
She had joined their team more than a month ago, and the only person she had ever treated warmly was their leader, Yan Shaoyu.
Bai Zixi’s beautiful eyes turned toward the pitch-black world outside the window. From time to time, screams and roars could be heard coming from downstairs.
It was now 3 a.m. on the second day of the apocalypse, the most chaotic period of all.
People who hadn’t managed to make it home in time were running around desperately, trying to escape. Those lucky enough had found somewhere to hide, while the unlucky ones had become food for the zombies.
Bai Zixi mustered her courage and walked toward the window. Taking a deep breath, she looked down at the hideous and terrifying zombies on the street.
The fifth floor wasn’t particularly high, and from this angle, she could clearly see a shop on the street being invaded by a group of zombies. Moments later, a man’s piercing scream rang out.
Bai Zixi’s face instantly turned deathly pale. Her stomach churned, and she placed one hand against her chest, struggling to suppress her fear and nausea.
Reading apocalypse novels and watching zombie movies had never seemed like a big deal. But witnessing such a scene with her own eyes was far more horrifying and thrilling than watching a horror movie.
After taking a moment to calm herself, she continued looking down at the street.
A woman’s scream suddenly came from inside a black sports car, immediately attracting numerous zombies toward the vehicle.
“Fuck! You stupid woman! If you want to die, then go die by yourself! Don’t drag me down with you!”
As soon as the man’s rough voice rang out, he opened the passenger-side door and kicked the foolish woman out of the car.
The woman fell to the ground. Seeing the approaching zombies, she was so terrified that she froze. She quickly scrambled to her feet and desperately pounded on the car window, begging for help.
“Open the door! Please, I’m begging you!”
The man inside acted as though he hadn’t heard her. He simply turned his head away, refusing to look at her.
Open the car door? Did she expect him to die alongside her?
Five zombies had already pounced on the woman beside the car. They opened their grotesque mouths and began tearing into her flesh.
“Ah… Ah! Is… is there anyone? Please, someone save me!”
The woman’s miserable screams were quickly swallowed by the chaos. The scene was utterly gruesome.
…
Was it humanity that had become twisted, or had morality simply collapsed?
