Yan Family Base,

Yan Shaochen, his handsome face showing signs of exhaustion, sat in his office chair and listened to everyone’s suggestions.

“Let’s head to the training island first! We can bring the survivors back. We can put Xuancheng on hold for now.”Full novel: Transmigrated Into a Novel’s Apocalypse: My White Lotus System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yan Shaoyu shared his thoughts. Although Xuancheng was under his second uncle’s jurisdiction, the situation there was certainly not as critical as the crisis on the training island.

The people on the island had no way of escaping. Without boats or planes, they were completely stranded. Besides, there was still a large stockpile of supplies on the island.

“Big Brother, Third Brother, why don’t you take a few ability users with you? Dad and I can stay behind to guard the base.”

Yan Shaohua was accustomed to handling logistics and was responsible for all the base’s internal construction projects.

Their father deliberately pretended to be displeased. “What? Are you already assigning tasks to me?”

“Ah, I wonder how things are going on my second brother’s side…” Although rescuing the people on the training island was the more sensible choice, he still wanted to go to Xuancheng as soon as possible and bring his family back. Only then would he feel at ease.

Yan Shaochen, who had remained silent the entire time, pressed his fingers against his forehead and quickly made his decision.

“We’ll leave for the training island the morning after tomorrow.”

It was already nighttime. They had spent the entire day conducting inspections and had finished clearing out the zombies. He hadn’t slept for two days and one night.

“I’ll head back to my room first.”

After arranging everything, he prepared to get up and leave.

Their father suddenly asked curiously, “Were you out stealing last night?”

Yan Shaochen no longer had his usual intimidating aura. He looked more like a fierce beast dozing off, making everyone curious about what had happened.

Yan Shaochen paused for a moment but offered no explanation. He simply walked straight out of the meeting room.

“Do you think your eldest brother and Zixi were together last night?”

Their father wore an inquisitive expression. He wondered whether Yan Shaochen had frightened Zixi away. Unfortunately, that son of his was impossible to communicate with.

Yan Shaohua and Yan Shaoyu casually made up an excuse and left the meeting room. Their father was becoming more and more of a gossip!

…

The following morning, Bai Zixi appeared on the training ground wearing a black tracksuit.

As soon as she appeared, everyone’s eyes immediately turned toward her. In their minds, she was now a beautiful, brave, and powerful young woman.

They also knew that she had gone out with one of the big shots, which made them even more curious about what had happened between them.

Lin Jiao, however, behaved just as she always did. Whenever something happened, she couldn’t wait to share it with Bai Zixi.

Walking up beside her, she asked with a puzzled expression, “Zixi, I think my ability allows me to store things, but it doesn’t seem to have any offensive power.”

Bai Zixi wasn’t particularly surprised by this. However, the others looked astonished. Some of those who had recently discovered their own abilities were also experimenting with controlling them.

“Try storing that stone in your space, then use your mental power to release it whenever you want.”

She casually offered some guidance. She wasn’t sure whether it would work, but there was no harm in letting Lin Jiao give it a try.

Lin Jiao nodded and followed her instructions. Focusing her mind, she successfully stored a palm-sized stone from the ground. With a simple thought, the stone dropped out of thin air.

“Zixi, you’re amazing! You seem to know everything!” Lin Jiao praised her sincerely.

Bai Zixi felt rather smug on the inside, but she maintained a calm expression on the outside, looking as though everything was within her expectations.

“Just practice controlling the force a little more. Then you can use it to launch surprise attacks.”

Lin Jiao quickly nodded obediently. She had already figured out the trick.

The other ability users gathered around her one after another. Zhu Rui, Han Shuo, and Yu Haoran were the first to approach.

“Zixi, how do I use my ability to attack?” Zhu Rui asked in confusion, a golden ball of energy forming in his palm.

Bai Zixi patiently and gently began explaining.

“Watch the energy in my hand.”

A luminous orb, resembling a night pearl, condensed in her palm. With a thought, it transformed into a glowing arrow.

She aimed at a target fifty meters away and flicked her hand forcefully.

The light arrow pierced straight through the bullseye, leaving a hole in it and rendering the target useless.

Everyone stared at the scene with excited, almost feverish expressions. Once again, they had been amazed by her actions.

Coincidentally, Yan Shaochen and Yan Shaoyu had just walked into the training ground and witnessed the entire scene.

What a little show-off she is.
