Their vehicle had barely driven a short distance when a van began following behind them.

Sitting in the back seat, Bai Zixi gazed out the window at the abandoned high-rise buildings and the horrifying sight of black blood and rotting flesh scattered all over the streets.

The roars of zombies echoed around them, accompanied by the sound of their vehicle crashing into obstacles along the road. The journey was extremely bumpy, but fortunately, their vehicle had been modified for situations like this.Full novel: Transmigrated Into a Novel’s Apocalypse: My White Lotus System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Meanwhile, the people following behind them had a much easier time. Someone was clearing the road ahead of them, allowing them to travel without much trouble.

“Boss, there’s a supermarket over there!” Mo Yanfeng pointed toward a two-story commercial building about fifty meters away.

It would take at least two days and two nights to drive back to Imperial City, so food and gasoline were essential supplies they needed to replenish.

Yan Shaoyu thought for a moment before giving his order.

“Drive over there.”

“There’s a tailgater behind us,” Han Shuo said displeasedly, keeping his eyes on the rearview mirror.

“Don’t bother with them.” Yan Shaoyu wasn’t particularly concerned. As long as they didn’t provoke him, he would simply ignore them.

Yu Haoran had already driven the vehicle to the entrance of the supermarket and brought it to a stop.

The supermarket’s main entrance was open. Five or six zombies were wandering around outside, and there were quite a few more inside.

The zombies immediately charged toward them.

Yan Shaoyu took out a mobile phone, played some music, turned the volume all the way up, and tossed it behind them.

The zombies gathered into a group and rushed toward the phone.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Yu Haoran skillfully drove straight through the supermarket entrance, smashing through the checkout counter at the front before bringing the vehicle to a stop.

After getting out, they quickly worked together to close both the supermarket’s glass doors and its metal shutters.

There were still several zombies inside that hadn’t managed to get out. They used their military knives to stab through the zombies’ heads, then dragged the bodies into the restroom.

Bai Zixi looked at the shelves, which were still fully stocked.

The apocalypse had only begun five days ago. There probably weren’t many people brave enough to venture out searching for supplies yet.

……

“Brother Wei, they’re inside the supermarket!”

By the time Fatty drove their van over, the others had already closed all the supermarket entrances.

The zombies near the entrance had also noticed them. They quickly gathered together and lunged toward Fatty’s vehicle.

“Let’s get out of here first!”

Brother Wei’s face twisted with anger. He had originally planned to take advantage of the situation and pick up whatever supplies the others left behind. Instead, he had ended up being forced to help lure the zombies away for them.

What a clever trick!

……

Bai Zixi quietly searched the second floor and soon found a small storage room.

Holding a military knife in her hand, she cautiously made her way inside.

The moment she entered, a female zombie lunged at her, trying to bite her.

Her reflexes were quick. She immediately raised her military knife and brought it down.

With a swift strike, the blade pierced the head of the female zombie, who was still wearing her supermarket employee uniform. The zombie collapsed to the floor.

Suppressing the stench of blood that assaulted her nostrils, Bai Zixi collected all the food inside the storage room and stored it in her space.

Half of her fifty-square-meter storage space was now filled with food, but there was still some room left. She planned to use the remaining space for everyday necessities.

After leaving the storage room, she headed toward the clothing section.

Although the clothes sold in the supermarket were rather ordinary, she still collected several outfits, along with some underwear, bedsheets, and quilts.

Next, she went to the household supplies section and collected sanitary pads, shampoo, body wash, and various other daily necessities.

Before long, she had completely filled her storage space.

She then began stuffing some food and everyday supplies into her backpack to avoid attracting suspicion.

She knew that she would eventually encounter the female protagonist, who would also possess a storage space. Therefore, she didn’t intend to reveal too much about her own ability. She had no desire to become someone else’s walking storage warehouse.

Afterward, she found a secluded spot and changed out of her black clothes. She put on a modest black dress and layered a camouflage jacket over it.

As a small-time internet influencer, she naturally knew a thing or two about fashion and styling.

Her current outfit was both casual and feminine.

If only her hair were a little longer!

008’s mechanical voice suddenly sounded in her mind.

“Host, the hair-growth serum only costs two points.”

Good heavens!

008 hadn’t spoken in ages. Why had it suddenly popped up out of nowhere? It nearly scared her to death!

“Forget it. There’s no rush. I’ll exchange for some supernatural abilities first before considering that.”

Bai Zixi was still quite rational. Nothing was more important than having the strength to protect herself.

Now that she had changed her clothes and collected all the food and necessities she needed, she could finally relax.

She decided to grab a pile of delicious snacks, find a comfortable spot, and enjoy herself to her heart’s content.
