Why was he here? Was he here to settle the score? Jiang Wu felt nervous, but looking at Shen Yifeng’s expressionless face, he decided to apologize first. “I am sorry, I did not mean it.”

What was not intentional? Why are you apologizing to me? Shen Yifeng was confused. What is wrong with everyone today? Why is everyone constantly saying such nonsensical things?
Seeing the bewilderment in Shen Yifeng’s eyes, Jiang Wu realized he was not here to hold him accountable. Then why was he here? Was he here to tell him it was time for dinner?
The next second, Shen Yifeng’s voice confirmed it: “Come downstairs to eat.”
He really was here to call me for dinner. Jiang Wu immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
The two headed downstairs one after the other. Jiang Wu followed behind Shen Yifeng like a timid young bride, wondering why Shen Yifeng had not mentioned what happened earlier. Was he indifferent, or had he simply not seen him?
Shen Yifeng was not a talkative person, and as Jiang Wu’s mind was in a turmoil, the two walked to the dining room in total silence. Shen Yifeng, however, felt a bit strange and worried. While Jiang Wu was not a chatterbox, he had never been this quiet. Did something unpleasant happen? Shen Yifeng wondered if he should ask, but what if it was a private matter? It would not be appropriate to pry.
Just as he was struggling with the decision, they arrived at the dining room, where the aroma of the meal drifted toward them. Looking at the sweet and sour eggplant, braised fish, and pineapple-roasted chicken wings on the table, all of Jiang Wu’s worries vanished instantly.
After the meal, Jiang Wu was no longer bothered by the morning’s events. He figured Shen Yifeng probably had not seen him, so he decided to act as if nothing had happened. He even enthusiastically invited Shen Yifeng for a walk. Seeing Jiang Wu return to his usual self, Shen Yifeng felt a weight lift off his chest.
Instead of the backyard, they headed to a nearby park.
Jiang Wu started a conversation. “Shen Yifeng, how many villas are there in this area?”
“Five.”
“Really? Why do I not see any others?”
“Each villa is spaced three kilometers apart.”
Jiang Wu was surprised. “Three kilometers apart? Is the total area of this neighborhood not huge?”
Shen Yifeng nodded silently and added, “Over thirty thousand square meters.”
Jiang Wu, who did not have a concept of square meters, just murmured a neutral “Oh.”
“Are the house prices here very expensive?” Jiang Wu asked again.
Shen Yifeng thought for a moment before answering, “I believe it was one billion. It has been a long time, so I do not quite remember.” He said this as casually as if he were talking about pocket change.
Jiang Wu was stunned. “Can they even sell them?”
“Yes, they were sold out as soon as they went on the market.”
“All five?”
Shen Yifeng nodded.
These people are truly wealthy, Jiang Wu thought silently. He had once thought his own family in his past life was rich, but compared to the Shen family, they were nothing.
“Did the owner make a lot of money, then?” Jiang Wu asked out of curiosity.
“It was alright.”
“How would you know?” As soon as the words left his mouth, Jiang Wu realized what a foolish question it was; of course he knew, he lived here. Why do I always act like a fool around Shen Yifeng? First delivering lunch, and now this. Jiang Wu felt his ears turning red.
“This entire property belongs to my family,” Shen Yifeng said lightly.
!! Jiang Wu realized he had vastly underestimated Shen Yifeng’s wealth. It was all Shen Yifeng’s fault for being so low-key.
Watching Jiang Wu’s shocked expression, his mouth slightly agape and his obsidian eyes wide, Shen Yifeng thought he looked incredibly cute.
I want to touch him.
Shen Yifeng was not usually a frivolous person, but seeing Jiang Wu’s adorable expression, he felt as if he were possessed. By the time he realized what he was doing, he had already touched him. He recalled the sensation, soft and smooth. He felt a sudden urge to touch him again; Jiang Wu’s cheek felt like a drug, once you touched it, you could not forget it.
Jiang Wu felt something cool touch his cheek and realized it was Shen Yifeng’s hand.
Shen Yifeng touched my face!
Shame and indignation surged within him. His face turned bright red instantly, and he stammered incoherently:
“You… that is wrong! It is impolite! You are playing the hooligan, do you know that? You…”
Listening to Jiang Wu’s shy and angry accusations, Shen Yifeng did not argue. His actions had indeed been that of a hooligan. A flash of regret crossed his eyes, and he apologized sincerely. “I am sorry.”
The apology immediately doused the flames of Jiang Wu’s already mild anger. Since the other party had apologized, Jiang Wu felt bad about pursuing it further. Anyway, we are both men; touching should not be a big deal, he thought, comforting himself.
Jiang Wu stammered for a long time before finally saying, “Do not do that next time.”
Shen Yifeng apologized again. “I am sorry.” He paused and added, “How can I compensate you so that you are no longer angry?”
Seeing Shen Yifeng’s genuine apology, Jiang Wu felt embarrassed. “It is fine, I am not angry anymore.”
