“Are you tired? Why are you sleeping so early?”
Mo Junlin took off his jacket and asked with concern.
Qin Ruoyao seemed to snap out of a dream and sat up.
“You’re back? Didn’t you say you had something to do?”
Noticing something off about her mood, Mo Junlin sat down on the edge of the bed.
“Are you feeling unwell anywhere?”
“No, I’m perfectly fine. And stop getting handsy.”
Qin Ruoyao smacked away the hand reaching toward her chest.
“I can’t touch my own wife now?”
“Not recently.”
“Why not? Are you sick?” Mo Junlin asked worriedly.
Qin Ruoyao shot him a look.
What kind of intelligence is that?
Grinning, she pulled a document out from under her pillow.
“Look. What’s this?”
Thinking it was some kind of medical report, Mo Junlin took it and glanced at it.
Then excitement slowly spread across his face.
“Is this real?”
“I’m really going to be a father?”
Qin Ruoyao nodded.
“It’s real. Two months already.”
Mo Junlin gently placed a hand on her stomach.
The sudden joy felt almost unreal.
“Excited, Daddy-to-be?” Qin Ruoyao wrapped her arms around his neck and looked at him.
Of course he was happy.
Happier than signing a contract worth hundreds of millions.
Carefully embracing her, mindful of her stomach, he said,
“I’m very happy.”
“Thank you, wife.”
The room was filled with warmth and tenderness as they were both moved by the new life soon to arrive.
Mo Junlin knew.
His son was coming.
The clever, adorable boy from his memories.
Their family of three would finally be reunited.
“Wife, now that you’re pregnant, you need to sleep early.”
“No more staying up late.”
As he spoke, he tried to tuck her into bed.
“It’s only a little after eight.”
“I’m not sleepy.”
“I already took a nap this afternoon.”
Qin Ruoyao looked at him.
“Then how about watching some TV?”
“But don’t play on your phone. I heard phones aren’t good during pregnancy.”
“I’ll take a quick shower and come keep you company.”
After giving his instructions, Mo Junlin dashed off for a quick shower.
A few minutes later, he emerged with his hair still wet.
“Why didn’t you dry your hair?”
“I’ll help you.”
Seeing his damp hair, Qin Ruoyao immediately wanted to get up.
“Don’t move.”
“Stay where you are.”
“I’ll do it myself.”
Mo Junlin hurriedly stopped her.
Then he quickly dried his hair and climbed into bed.
“Are you treating me like a fragile porcelain doll now?”
Qin Ruoyao looked slightly aggrieved.
“No.”
“Don’t overthink it.”
“I’m just worried you’ll get tired.”
“How did you find out today?”
“You went for a checkup?”
“What did the doctor say?”
Qin Ruoyao played with his fingers as she answered casually.
“Didn’t I go fishing with Grandpa today?”
“At lunch we ate fish.”
“The moment I took a bite, I threw up.”
“Mom and the others immediately suspected I was pregnant, so they took me to the hospital.”
She paused.
“Honestly, I was more worried that something was wrong with me.”
“Ever since we got married, my period never came.”
Mo Junlin chuckled.
She was adorable.
“You never considered you might be pregnant?”
“My periods have never been regular.”
“And besides…”
Qin Ruoyao glared at him and punched him lightly.
“With how many times you bother me every night, who has time to think about that?”
“Alright, alright. My fault too.”
“But what did the doctor say?”
“How’s the baby?”
He was genuinely concerned.
With how intense things had been lately, he was afraid something might have gone wrong.
“The baby is healthy.”
“But from now on, no funny business. Got it?”
Even when he was simply holding her, she could feel how warm his body became.
She didn’t believe for a second that he could completely restrain himself.
Although Mo Junlin felt somewhat miserable about it, he knew what was important.
This was his precious son.
“Don’t worry.”
“I know what matters.”
“The baby comes first.”
“Mom even suggested we sleep in separate rooms.”
Mo Junlin immediately refused.
“No need.”
“I would never hurt either of you.”
“Trust me.”
“Suit yourself.”
“I’m going to sleep.”
“I’m tired.”
Qin Ruoyao closed her eyes.
Mo Junlin wrapped his arms around his sweet-smelling wife and prepared to sleep as well.
In his opinion, only an idiot would voluntarily sleep in a separate room from his wife.
Holding his wife while sleeping was far better.
After the pregnancy was confirmed, they decided to move into the Mo family estate long-term.
There were more people around, making it easier to take care of a pregnant woman.
Life during pregnancy continued much the same as before.
Qin Ruoyao felt there wasn’t much difference.
She just had to be a little more careful with her movements.
Occasionally she felt nauseous.
The one who was truly different was the father-to-be.
Mo Junlin became so nervous that he personally researched everything related to pregnancy and filled an entire notebook with notes.
At breakfast:
“Wife, drink more milk. It’s good for calcium.”
While taking a walk:
Seeing a tiny pebble on the path, he immediately rushed over.
“Careful!”
“Watch your step.”
“Walk slowly.”
When she wanted to pick strawberries herself:
“No bending over.”
“I’ll do it.”
At bath time:
“The floor is slippery.”
“I’ll help you.”
“Be careful.”
Finally, Qin Ruoyao exploded.
“Hmph!”
“Why don’t you just tell me to lie in bed all day and never move?”
“You’re way too nervous!”
“My stomach isn’t even showing yet.”
“I feel perfectly fine!”
Even his mother couldn’t watch anymore.
“You.”
“Can’t you act normal?”
“The doctor already said Yaoyao is perfectly healthy.”
“There’s no need to be this anxious.”
Only then did Mo Junlin realize he might have gone overboard.
Too much interference would affect a pregnant woman’s mood.
After reflecting on it, he relaxed considerably.
Life returned to normal.
Soon it was time for the second prenatal examination.
This time, Mo Junlin accompanied her.
They were still seeing Dr. Lan.
“The baby is three months old now.”
“Today we’ll be doing a full examination and the NT screening.”
“Mom can go for the blood test first.”
Qin Ruoyao obediently followed instructions.
After an entire morning of examinations, everything was finally complete.
The doctor reviewed the reports and smiled.
“The baby’s development is excellent.”
“Mom should keep doing what she’s been doing.”
“At three months, you can start supplementing calcium appropriately.”
“After four months, your belly will gradually become more noticeable.”
“If you’re worried about stretch marks, you can apply body oil every day.”
She glanced at Mo Junlin.
“Dad can help with that.”
Mo Junlin nodded seriously.
After scheduling the next checkup, they prepared to leave.
However, Mo Junlin suddenly remembered another question he wanted to ask.
He had Qin Ruoyao wait outside while he went back to speak with the doctor.
Three minutes later, he emerged looking very pleased.
“Let’s go.”
“Time for lunch.”
“Do you want to eat at home or outside?”
“Drunken Immortal Restaurant.”
“I’m craving their food.”
Once inside the car, Qin Ruoyao asked curiously,
“What did you ask the doctor about?”
“Oh.”
“Just what foods are good and what we should pay attention to.”
Qin Ruoyao leaned back comfortably.
“I really don’t have any problems.”
“I eat well, sleep well, and don’t need to worry about anything.”
“What pregnant woman has it as easy as I do?”
She had no idea what he had actually asked.
What Mo Junlin had really wanted to know was:
Could married couples still be intimate during pregnancy?
The doctor told him that after the first trimester, it was generally permissible, provided they paid attention to hygiene, positioning, frequency, and intensity.
Everything needed to be gentle and moderate.
In short:
Proceed with caution.
But Mo Junlin had no intention of telling Qin Ruoyao that.
After lunch at Drunken Immortal Restaurant, he brought her directly to the company so they could head home together later that evening.
By now, she had visited enough times that everyone in the company knew she was the president’s wife.
As usual, the moment Mo Junlin walked through the lobby holding her hand, conversations immediately started buzzing around them.
