“You beast, go ahead and struggle all you want.”

Qiu Huang watched the giant bear thrash around but made no move to attack. The creature was already blind, and death was inevitable. The more violently it struggled, the faster it exhausted its strength. Once it completely ran out of energy, dealing with it would be much easier.

The giant bear howled continuously, lunging and striking wildly in all directions. Although it could no longer see, its other senses remained intact. It could vaguely sense where Qiu Huang was, but Qiu Huang was extremely crafty. Every time the bear charged toward him, he quickly changed direction, causing its attacks to miss.

Gradually, more and more blood flowed from its wounds, staining the stream red. Its stamina steadily declined, and its movements became slower and weaker.

“My turn.”

Qiu Huang circled behind the bear, gripped several bamboo arrows, and drove them downward with force—straight into the bear’s rear.

“ROAR!”

The giant bear screamed in agony. Being attacked there was unbearably painful.

At the same time, when Wanyan Meiling and the other two women saw this scene, they instinctively covered their own backsides, feeling a phantom burning pain.

“So, Husband likes attacking that spot.”

The three women exchanged glances and silently mourned for their own poor behinds. It seemed their butts were destined to suffer in the future.

The bear, struck in such a sensitive place, was overwhelmed by pain. It went berserk again, swinging its massive paw backward in an attempt to flatten Qiu Huang into a pancake.

“Move.”

Seeing the giant paw coming toward him, Qiu Huang used the same strategy as before. He quickly shifted away, avoiding a direct confrontation.

For the next half hour, Qiu Huang continued wearing the bear down. Whenever it attacked, he ran. Whenever it paused, he launched sneak attacks, stabbing its nose, ears, and other vulnerable spots with bamboo arrows. Those areas lacked thick fur and tough hide, allowing the arrows to pierce through. While none of the wounds were fatal on their own, the accumulated damage gradually weakened the bear.

“Boom.”

At last, the giant bear could no longer endure. Its enormous body collapsed into the stream and never got up again.

“Is it dead?”

Qiu Huang lifted his foot and kicked the bear several times. There was no response whatsoever.

From that, he was certain the creature was dead.

“This thing is dead now. No need to worry.”

Hearing that, the three women finally let out long sighs of relief.

To be honest, when the giant bear first appeared, they had been terrified. It was an incredibly ferocious beast, and if it had attacked them, they would have had no chance of survival.

But now everything was different. The giant bear had died at the hands of their husband, and they no longer had to live in fear.

“Go find some vines,” Qiu Huang said.

“Vines? Husband, what do you need those for?”

The three women were puzzled.

Qiu Huang replied, “To take this thing home.”

The giant bear had a tremendous amount of meat. If they brought it back, it would feed them for many days. As for the bear’s paws, they were considered a premium nourishing food. He could use them to help improve the health of his wives.

“What? Husband, you’re joking, right? This thing weighs at least several hundred pounds. How can the four of us possibly move it?”

They knew their own strength very well. Even the bamboo basket they were carrying, which weighed only forty or fifty pounds, had to be carried in turns. A beast weighing several hundred pounds was beyond imagination.

However, what happened next left them completely stunned.

Qiu Huang grabbed the bear’s forelegs with both hands and dragged the massive beast out of the stream and onto the riverbank.

“Just how terrifying is Husband’s strength?”

The three women exchanged looks, utterly shocked.

A single man had dragged a bear weighing several hundred pounds by himself. Such strength was beyond that of ordinary people.

“Looks like we’re going to suffer tonight.”

They looked down at their own frail bodies. How could women as slender as they were possibly withstanding someone as powerful as Qiu Huang?

“Why are you still standing there? Go find the vines already. It’s getting late.”

Qiu Huang urged them on.

“Yes, Husband. We’ll go right away.”

The three women immediately set off to search for vines.

The deep mountains were filled with them, and before long, they had gathered plenty.

“Use these vines to tie the bear securely to my back. I’ll carry it home.”

Qiu Huang now possessed the strength of ten grown men. Carrying a giant bear down the mountain was no problem for him.

“Understood.”

Following his instructions, the three women used the vines to tightly secure the bear’s massive body to his back.

“Husband, it’s secured.”

Qiu Huang checked it carefully to make sure everything was in place.

Then he stood up in one motion, lifting both himself and the giant bear.

“Husband is truly incredible.”

The three women were amazed once again. His strength was simply unbelievable, like one of the legendary giant warriors from folklore.

This time, they truly felt they had married the right man.

With such a powerful husband protecting them, what was there to fear?

Surely their future lives would only continue to improve.

“You carry the baskets. Let’s head home together.”

“Alright.”

…

At the village entrance, people who had gone hunting or gathering wild vegetables were also returning.

“Sigh, such bad luck. I wandered around the mountains all day and found absolutely nothing.”

“Same here.”

“The game in the mountains has basically been hunted out. Finding anything now is incredibly difficult unless you go deep into the mountains.”

“The deep mountains? Forget it. That place is full of dangerous beasts. Just this year alone, several people from our village entered the deep mountains and were eaten by wild animals. None of them ever came back.”

“We can’t hunt, wild plants are hard to find, and the crops are failing. Surviving these days is really difficult.”

“Sigh.”

…

The villagers sighed repeatedly. The burden of life had already worn them down. Simply staying alive required every ounce of their effort.

“Hey, look! What’s that?”

Suddenly, someone noticed something in the distance.

Everyone turned to look.

On the road leading into the village, one man and three women were walking toward them.

What truly caught their attention, however, was not the group itself—but what they were carrying.

One of the women had a bamboo basket on her back. Inside were wild chickens, wild rabbits, and other game. At a glance, there were at least ten animals packed inside, making the basket look heavy and full.

As for the man, he was even more astonishing.

Strapped to his back was a gigantic creature that looked very much like a giant bear.
