Dabao and Erbao both answered brightly, “Okay!”

Seeing his older siblings so happy, Sanbao also waved his little hands and feet excitedly, babbling “yiyaya” sounds as if joining in on the fun.

After returning home, Li Tingyun prepared bathwater mixed with spiritual spring water from her space for the two older children. Meanwhile, she carried Sanbao into the space to take a bath herself.Full novel: Transmigrated to the 1970s: A Delicate Educated Youth Uses Her Space to Raise Three Kids — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Although the weather wasn’t cold enough to make them catch a chill, she was still worried the older children might stay in the water too long, so she didn’t linger in the space for very long before coming back out.

She changed Dabao and Erbao into thin summer pajamas, while Sanbao wore a little romper that exposed his chubby legs, making him look irresistibly soft and squishy.

When it was time, as usual, to drink goat’s milk before bed, Dabao carefully said, “Mother, I want to sleep with you.”

Erbao immediately joined in, “Me too, Mother! I want to sleep with you guys too!”

Li Tingyun hesitated for a moment but still refused. “No. Sanbao is still too little. He cries at night and will wake you up.”

The disappointment on the children’s faces made her soften immediately, so she added, “When Sanbao is weaned in a while, Mother will sleep together with you all.”

Only then did the two children cheer up.

By now, Li Tingyun had become genuinely terrified of Sanbao’s habit of occasionally biting her while breastfeeding. She had already started consciously weaning him little by little.

There was no other reason—it simply hurt too much. Every feeding session felt like torture.

Fortunately, Sanbao was easy to care for. He drank breast milk willingly, but also accepted formula without complaint.

When drinking breast milk, he usually woke once or twice at night, but with formula, one feeding before bed was enough for him to sleep until morning.

Sanbao rarely fussed at night. Since he had slept early yesterday, when Li Tingyun woke up the next morning, the sun still hadn’t risen.

The air in this era was especially fresh, free from the unpleasant smell of car exhaust found in modern times.

Standing in the courtyard, Li Tingyun stretched her body and felt completely refreshed.

Behind the house, the original owner had planted a vegetable patch. Ever since arriving, Li Tingyun had never really taken care of it. She had only dumped the children’s bathwater onto the garden every day after they finished bathing.

Now that she looked at it, the vegetables were thriving, lush and green.

Since nobody had weeded it, however, the weeds were also growing wildly, mixed into every gap between the vegetables.

She hated farm work, and with endless vegetables available inside her space, she lacked nothing anyway.

Still, for appearances’ sake, she crouched down and pulled out a few of the taller weeds.

Mother Yi might come over at any time. If she noticed the vegetable patch being completely neglected while Li Tingyun somehow still had vegetables at every meal, it would be difficult to explain.

She had only been weeding for a short while when Sanbao’s cries came from inside the house.

Li Tingyun immediately treated it like an excuse, tossing the weeds aside and heading to wash her hands at the well before hurrying into the bedroom to pick up the soft, sweet-smelling baby.

Enduring the pain, she breastfed Sanbao once more—and got bitten again.

After adjusting her clothes, Li Tingyun tapped Sanbao lightly on the nose and said, “You’d better cherish this. It might be your last breast milk meal.”

Sanbao naturally didn’t understand. He only thought his mother was playing with him and giggled happily, his little laugh incredibly sweet.

After washing up, Dabao and Erbao also woke up.

Li Tingyun took out another white dress from her space and said, “Dabao, wear this dress today. Do you like it?”

Today’s white dress had a layer of tulle, fluffy and adorable.

Dabao’s joy was impossible to hide. “I like it! Mother, I really like this little dress!”

Erbao, being a boy, didn’t care much about clothes. He only asked, “Mother, are we eating breakfast soon? I’m hungry.”

Li Tingyun laughed and glanced at him. “Yes, breakfast is ready. Go wash up quickly, then you can eat.”

While Erbao went to wash, Li Tingyun tied Dabao’s hair into two little buns and added ribbon bows on top.

The little girl instantly looked like a doll carved from jade.

“My daughter is so pretty!”

Li Tingyun took out a mirror from her space for Dabao to admire herself. Dabao was obviously very satisfied with her mother’s handiwork, turning her head left and right while staring nonstop.

By then, Erbao had already finished washing and was sitting at the table waiting to eat.

Seeing Dabao still admiring herself in the mirror, he couldn’t help saying, “Mother, Sister is so vain.”

Li Tingyun looked at him in surprise. “And you even know what vanity means?”

Then she called out, “Dabao, hurry and wash up. We’re eating soon.”

Dabao answered obediently and reluctantly put down the mirror to brush her teeth.

Li Tingyun heated several sticky rice chicken wraps, three braised meat buns, and warm milk for breakfast.

After taking a bite of the bun, Erbao exclaimed in surprise, “Mother, this bun has so much meat inside!”

The filling was entirely braised meat. Even before transmigrating, those buns hadn’t been cheap when she bought them for storage.

After breakfast, Dabao and Erbao went out to play as usual.

Li Tingyun stayed home with Sanbao, sitting together in the courtyard by the entrance.

Even though Sanbao was only six months old, he was already incredibly restless. He constantly tried to stand up, stomping his tiny feet repeatedly against her legs.

Passing villagers who saw them sitting in the courtyard remarked, “Oh my, your little child is raised so well—so fair and chubby!”

Li Tingyun only smiled lightly without replying.

After playing for quite a while, she suddenly remembered the things inside her space hadn’t been harvested in some time. She quickly carried Sanbao back inside.

Entering the space, she harvested another batch of newly grown rice, collected all the eggs and duck eggs scattered around, and stored freshly grown crops like corn, sweet potatoes, and potatoes into the warehouse.

She was still busy when she heard knocking at the door.

Li Tingyun immediately exited the space with Sanbao in her arms. Opening the door, she saw Xu Hui again, and her expression instantly darkened.

“Why are you here again?” Her tone was openly unfriendly.

Xu Hui naturally heard the displeasure but still smiled and said, “Xiaoyun-jie, good Xiaoyun, don’t be angry anymore. So much time has passed already. My brother already lowered his pride first—why are you still upset?”

So Xu Hui and Xu Feng both thought what she said yesterday had merely been angry words.

Seriously?

Did people really think someone would willingly continue acting like a lovesick fool?

Li Tingyun let out a cold laugh. “Are you incapable of understanding human language? I already made myself very clear yesterday. I’m not familiar with your brother, and I don’t want any further dealings with either of you. Don’t come looking for me again. My home doesn’t welcome you.”

Hearing this, Xu Hui became anxious immediately, though she no longer dared to speak as arrogantly as before. Softening her voice, she pleaded, “Xiaoyun-jie, is there some misunderstanding between you and my brother? We should talk things out properly, otherwise it’ll look awkward when you run into each other in the future.”
