Those who were unlucky became prey to the monsters and were eaten alive. Those who were lucky enough to barely escape them hide inside the buildings.

Similar situations have happened all over the world. Humanity was hit hard, and the government was caught off guard.

Meanwhile, Bai Yingxia had just finished collecting the last piece of clothing from the clothing factory’s warehouse when she heard sounds coming from outside.Full novel: Transmigrated To The Apocalypse As A Mob Character — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

As she listened carefully, she realized that the sounds of people screaming were mixed with beast-like growls. Her face turned pale instantly, but she forced herself to stay calm.

Right now, she needs to leave this place as soon as possible. With the number of factory workers, if she didn’t leave now, she would be trapped here for a long time. The longer she stayed, the more dangerous it would be for her.

With this thought, she left the warehouse and ran in the opposite direction of the screams.

As she ran, Bai Yingxia’s mind spun at a fast speed.

Although she had trained hard for the past few months, she had never killed anything, not even a chicken. It would be a lie if she said that she was not afraid.

When she read the story, she only thought that the author was too much of a fan of gory scenes and that the people being eaten by the zombies were nothing but paper men.

But now that she smelled the rancid stench in the air and heard the terrified cries in the distance, she couldn’t help but realize that this world was not a novel. It was a real world for her now, and those people were real, living people.

The moment this realization hit her, her body trembled with fear. Despite all the preparations she had made before, she still felt scared.

Before she could even process her thoughts, her heart clenched, and she stopped in her tracks. The next second, her nose was hit by a thick stench of rotten flesh, followed by a zombie pouncing at her.

Facing the zombie, her body turned cold, but she still jumped to the side, barely dodging the zombie’s sharp nails.

Crack! Sccrrtchh!

The sound of the sharp nails scratching the floor pulled her back to her senses.

"Bai Yingxia, you can’t die here!"

As she thought to herself, a Tang sword appeared out of thin air. Reaching out, she grabbed the sword and unsheathed it. Following her previous training, she slashed at the zombie’s neck horizontally.

Crack!

The sword had been sharpened, but it was still unable to cut off the zombie’s head in one strike.

"Roar!!" the zombie let out a roar as it pounced at her.

Even though its head was barely hanging onto its neck, it still moved as agilely as before. Bai Yingxia didn’t dare face it head-on and let go of her sword.

As she dodged the zombie’s attack, she took out her longsword while positioning herself behind the zombie. This time, she no longer aimed to behead the zombie but thrust her longsword into the back of the zombie’s head.

Crash! Crack!

Her longsword pierced the skull and destroyed the zombie’s brain. The zombie stiffened for a few seconds before it fell to the ground with a thud.

Having finally killed the zombie, Bai Yingxia couldn’t hold back anymore. She took off her mask and threw up.

The zombies at the beginning of the apocalypse were not as disgusting as those that appeared a few years after the apocalypse. Even so, the stench of rotten flesh still disgusted her.

She threw up until nothing was left in her stomach before she finally stopped. Fearing that more zombies would come, she pulled out her longsword and Tang sword from the zombie before continuing to run.

While running, she took out a bottle of water to rinse her mouth and drank several sips.

She hadn’t awakened any ability, and with her current strength, it was impossible for her to kill more than 1 zombie at a time. Traveling alone was out of the question.

The first few days after the zombies woke up were too chaotic. If she rashly followed the people and escaped, she might be trapped on the road or die in a car accident.

The best option for her right now was to find a safe place and hide first. When the situation calmed down, she would try to find a dependable group and follow them to a temporary military camp.

After making up her mind, she stored her Tang sword in her space. Holding on to her longsword, she unlocked her phone. There was still a signal, so she used a map to find the nearest gas station.

While running, she took out a backpack and filled it with two bottles of mineral water, a pack of biscuits, and two loaves of bread.

Following the GPS, she headed to the gas station while hiding from the zombies. If she couldn’t hide, she would kill them.

Fortunately, her stamina was much better than before. So despite the danger along the road, she was still able to reach the gas station before sunset.

When she arrived, there were several zombies slamming against the glass door of the small minimart located inside the gas station.

From her distance, she couldn’t see what was happening inside the minimart. She was exhausted, and she didn’t have the strength or ability to fight so many zombies at the same time.

After considering the pros and cons, Bai Yingxia decided to take a detour and leave the gas station. She glanced at the sun slowly setting on the western horizon and hastened her pace.

One of this world’s settings was that zombies became more active and stronger at night. Even the protagonist couple didn’t dare travel after sunset. As a small shrimp, her chance of surviving during the nighttime was almost zero.

She played hide-and-seek with the zombies while searching for a safe place. Just when she thought that she had no choice but to enter her space in the middle of the road, she finally found a small pharmacy store.
