Tong Xiaoxi watched Wangcai bark continuously and was reminded of Feiniu and Li Dapu. “I used to raise a dog named Feiniu, a Husky. I called her my daughter…”

At the mention of this matter, she became angry and increasingly talkative. “She actually hooked up with a Tibetan Mastiff! That scumbag dog deceived Feiniu’s feelings and got her pregnant with a mixed-breed pup. If I ever get the chance to catch that Tibetan Mastiff, I’ll twist its head off to teach it a lesson for abandoning her after leading her on!”

Lei Yihong went silent. Why did this combination sound so strange?Full novel: Transmigrating to the ’90s: The Crazy Couple’s International Dealer Journey — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

No, more accurately, it sounded extremely familiar…

It couldn’t be that much of a coincidence, right?

Could that bastard Mars have left behind offspring outside?

He himself was still single and alone, yet the dog he raised actually had a wife and child?

Wangcai was suddenly triggered by something and started barking wildly at Lei Yihong.

Tong Xiaoxi shouted, “Wangcai, stop barking!”

Wangcai immediately stopped barking. Sticking out its tongue, it began circling around Tong Xiaoxi, rubbing its head against her leg repeatedly in an affectionate and flattering manner.

Lei Yihong couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, “A real brown-noser!”

This remark provoked another burst of barking from the dog.

The two people and the dog walked out of the courtyard and were startled by the crowd gathered outside.

Lei Wanqiang and his wife, Lei Wanguo, Lei Wanmin, and Lei Yueru, along with the sons and sons-in-law of the family, made up more than twenty people standing at the entrance.

Wang Yumei sighed in relief upon seeing that they were unharmed. “I saw that family of three running back home just now without taking anything.”

Tong Xiaoxi nodded. “Yeah. Let’s see if there’s anything left in the house that Uncle can use, and we can keep it for him. We brought the three major appliances back.”

Wang Yumei asked with some confusion, “They didn’t make a scene? They just moved out so obediently?”

Tong Xiaoxi smiled. “Once the reasoning was explained to them, they left.”

Wang Yumei truly didn’t believe these words. How could that family ever be reasonable?

And they left without taking anything?

Tong Xiaoxi walked over and greeted everyone.

Lei Wanguo had brought his whole family over, fully prepared for a fight, thinking that if the family of three refused to leave, they would physically carry them out.

And this was the result?

“Uncle, why don’t you all go in and check out the rooms, tidy up a bit, and change the lock?”

Lei Wanguo nodded repeatedly. “Alright, as long as you two are fine, that’s all that matters.”

Everyone walked into the courtyard together and entered the house.

The house was not large—just two rooms plus a kitchen.

Because Tong Dahai was planning to get married, the inside of the house had been freshly whitewashed, and the heated brick bed was covered with fancy decorative boards.

Now, all of it had been prepared for someone else’s benefit instead.

Returning to their old house, life would not be easy for that couple either.

The eldest son had also wanted the house belonging to Tong Xiaoya’s family, but the couple favored the younger son.

They planned to let the younger son take care of them in their old age and live together in the village house, leaving the house in the gully to the eldest son’s family. Naturally, the eldest son was unwilling. They were both sons, so why should there be double standards?

A conflict had already flared up between them, and the eldest daughter-in-law was no pushover either. Now that they were going back, how could things end well?

Since so many people were present today, Lei Wanguo decided to clean up the house right away.

Wang Yumei told the young couple to head home first, staying behind herself to help clean.

On the way back, Lei Yihong deliberately asked, “Did you learn Sanda? Why did you want to learn it?”

Tong Xiaoxi casually replied, “So that idiots would talk to me civilly, and so that I could go out for late-night barbecue at midnight. Is that reason sufficient?”

Lei Yihong smiled. “Extremely sufficient.”

It was the same answer as before.

Many people had asked Tong Xiaoxi this question, and her answer had always remained consistent.

In reality, the true reason was that she and her older brother and sister had experienced bullying in the past. Because they were orphans raised solely by an old woman, their family was not well-off, making them natural targets for discrimination.

Out of anger, Grandmother Tong tightened her belt to send all three children to learn Sanda and combat fighting.

The three of them stuck together, and from then on, no one dared to bully them again.

Lei Yihong did not bring up the topic of the scumbag dog again.

He feared that if Tong Xiaoxi found out the truth, the head she would want to twist off would not be the Tibetan Mastiff’s, but his own.

After all, he was the “Queen Mother of the West” who had broken up the canine couple’s marriage.

He was also in no hurry to reveal his identity to her.

Right now, both of them were at the same starting line—or rather, Tong Xiaoxi was richer than him, having inherited a property as soon as she arrived and becoming a second-generation property owner.

Currently, he had neither image nor money, making him unworthy of talking about love and affection.

Furthermore, in Tong Xiaoxi’s eyes, whether he was Lei Ou or Lei Yihong made no essential difference to her.

One was a gaming partner who worked with her solely to complete tasks, get paid, and leave.

The other was a demolition developer.

Her failure to recognize him was probably just because she didn’t care.

She had never paid attention to Lei Ou’s subtle habits or speech patterns, let alone Lei Yihong.

As they neared the front door of their home, heavy “thump-thump” footsteps echoed from behind, accompanied by a shout, “Xiaoya!”

Tong Xiaoxi turned around to see a chubby young girl rushing toward her, holding a large piece of pork in her hands. Instinctively, she dodged to the side. Upon seeing Lei Yihong standing directly ahead, the chubby girl slammed on her brakes, quickly pulling back her outstretched hands, and squeezed out two words from between her teeth with great effort, “Move over!”

Lei Yihong stepped to the side, and the chubby girl collapsed onto the ground with a loud “thud,” kicking up a cloud of dust.

Yet, she kept the piece of pork held high in her hand.

The two quickly fanned away the dust.

Lying on the ground, the chubby girl even blurted out, “Oh my goodness, that was close! Two pigs almost got ruined!”

Tong Xiaoxi seemed to recognize who she was.

She was Zhu Zhu, the daughter of Zhu Datou, the village’s pig farming specialist!

A live pig weighing around two hundred catties was worth almost three hundred yuan.

True to her name, she was indeed plump and round.

She was the same age as the original body owner and happened to be born in the Year of the Pig as well.

If the original body owner had a friend, Zhu Zhu could be considered one.

One was simple-minded, and the other was rash; the two could chat effortlessly whenever they met.

Tong Xiaoxi helped her up and patted the dirt off her clothes. “Are you okay?”

Zhu Zhu waved her hand. “I’m fine, I’m fine!”

She then looked at Tong Xiaoxi curiously. “Xiaoya, are you really not foolish anymore?”

Tong Xiaoxi smiled and nodded.

Only to hear Zhu Zhu say in the next sentence, “Brother Hong, you didn’t die either?”

This remark left Lei Yihong completely speechless.

Zhu Zhu leaned close to Tong Xiaoxi’s ear and whispered, “The other day, my dad said you were going to marry this sickly guy. I was thinking, if the marriage was meant to drive away the bad luck and instead ended up driving the person to death, what would we do?”

She thought she was whispering very quietly, but Lei Yihong standing nearby heard every word clearly. How badly did this chubby girl want him dead?

Tong Xiaoxi did not pursue the topic. “Why did you come over?”

Zhu Zhu raised the piece of pork in her hand. “My dad asked me to deliver some pork over. Last time when the pigs at home fell ill, Uncle Lei examined them and didn’t charge us any money.”

It was a common occurrence for Lei Wanqiang to charge little or no money when treating people’s livestock.

Some felt embarrassed about it and would bring over gifts in return.

This large piece of pork weighed at least ten catties.

Tong Xiaoxi opened the door to invite Zhu Zhu inside and poured her some water. “How many pigs does your family have now?”

“We have over seventy right now. My dad applied for that piece of land on the river embankment to build a larger pig farm. Once it’s built, he plans to buy a few dozen more piglets.”
