Lu Miaomiao lay leisurely on the soft bed in her space, nibbling on an apple while pondering why she had transmigrated.
Could it be that she had already died in her previous world?
And if so, where had the soul of this body gone?
Drowsiness soon overtook her. Well, since I’m here, I might as well make the best of it. I’ll get some sleep first.
It had to be said that although this era was somewhat backward and resources were scarce, at least she didn’t have to worry about stepping out of her space and landing in the middle of a horde of zombies.
This environment gave Lu Miaomiao an inexplicable sense of security, and before long, she fell into a deep sleep.
..
On a slightly dilapidated city wall built after the apocalypse and scarred by countless battles stood a young woman with a high ponytail. She wore a black form-fitting outfit and black leather boots.
Her posture was heroic, like a night-blooming rose flourishing in the darkness. Her eyes were clear yet icy, as if they could pierce through the constraints of time and space. Her delicate features exuded a cold beauty that made people hesitant to approach, yet unable to resist looking at her.
At this moment, the woman stood silently atop the wall, her cool gaze fixed on the chaotic scene below—brave and fearless people were engaged in a thrilling and desperate battle against an oncoming tide of zombies.
Armed with various weapons, they fought valiantly, their shouts, roars, and the clash of metal weaving together into a tragic symphony of war. Yet despite their efforts, they were unable to hold back the endless horde.
A gentle breeze brushed past the woman’s hair as her expression remained calm and resolute. She leaped down from the wall and joined the battle. After more than ten minutes, the tide of the fight began to turn.
Another half hour later, the last zombie of the apocalypse was crushed by Lu Miaomiao with a single punch to the head.
Unfazed by the splattered brain matter, she crouched down and reached into the Zombie King’s skull with her calloused hand, retrieving a crystal core.
Her eyes gleamed with excitement as she stared at the core still stained with gore.
Damn it, my abilities can finally reach their highest level. From now on, I’ll be the strongest ruler in this world.
Expressionless, she summoned spiritual spring water from her space to wash the crystal core before casually tossing it back into storage. She then took out a banana and ate it calmly, completely indifferent to the thunderous cheers behind her.
“The apocalypse is over! We’ve won! We’ve won!”
Just as she finished the last bite of the banana—
“Boss! Boss!” A cheerful-looking chubby young man came running and shouting. “Leaders from all the bases have arrived—they all want to elect you as president!”
“Got it. Look at you—have some composure. It’s just the presidency. Why are you acting so worthless?” Lu Miaomiao scolded her excitable follower with a cold face, casually tossing the banana peel onto the ground.
Oh my god, I’m an orphan who survived the apocalypse and ended up becoming president. How amazing am I! What kind of virtue did my ancestors accumulate to have such an outstanding descendant like me?
Feigning calmness, Lu Miaomiao lifted her chin and strode forward proudly, preparing to return to the base to welcome the distinguished guests. At the same time, she couldn’t help but grumble inwardly about how exhausting it was to always maintain the demeanor of a leader.
Suddenly, without any warning, she slipped on the banana peel with a loud thud and lost consciousness.
Lu Miaomiao awoke groggily from her dream, realizing that she had been dreaming about the apocalypse.
She couldn’t help but mock herself:
“Who would have thought that after surviving the apocalypse from the age of eighteen for ten years—without being defeated by zombies—I’d end up losing to a banana peel? I’ll never litter again.”
If the leaders of the other bases ever found out that she had been knocked unconscious by slipping on a banana peel, they would surely laugh at her behind her back.
At the beginning, she had endured plenty of disdain and exclusion for being the only female leader among the bases. However, she eventually beat every one of them into submission.
Like a cow riding in a bridal sedan—too awesome! She even admired herself.
Her philosophy in the apocalypse had always been simple: If you don’t submit, then fight. If one beating isn’t enough, then beat them again! In a world where strength reigned supreme and violence carried no legal consequences, the strongest commanded obedience.
But that was all in her previous life. In this life, she decided to lie back and enjoy a peaceful existence—listening to village gossip, watching the drama unfold, and living an ordinary life.
Getting up, Lu Miaomiao rummaged through her space and found a blue floral dress that suited the era. After washing up, drinking a glass of milk, and eating a small piece of bread, she stepped out of her space.
“Lu Miaomiao, you little slut, get out here! Do you think you’re some capitalist young lady? Not even cooking—are you trying to starve us? You lazy wretch! Get up and make breakfast!”
The already dilapidated door shook violently from the forceful pounding.
Lu Miaomiao glanced at the fragile door, her brows slightly raised.
Well, isn’t this my ‘dear’ second sister-in-law, Liu Huifang, who colluded with Liu Xianhua to frame me?
Yesterday, she had spared her only because she needed someone to spread the news in the village. She hadn’t even settled the score yet, and now the woman had delivered herself right to her doorstep. It would be a disservice not to “repay” her kindness.
“Lu Miaomiao, you cursed jinx! Even pigs are more diligent than you. Get up, do you hear me? If you think you can freeload here, forget about having a door—there won’t even be a bed for you!”
Listening to the stream of insults, Lu Miaomiao sneered. Who does she think she is? The last person who dared to insult her like this already had grass growing tall on their grave.
She stepped forward and removed the door bolt. Liu Huifang was still pounding on the door with excessive force. When the door suddenly opened, she lost her balance and stumbled toward Lu Miaomiao.
Lu Miaomiao swiftly sidestepped, watching the woman fall flat on her face. With a cold smile, she bent down, grabbed the back of Liu Huifang’s collar, dragged her into the room, and lifted her to sit on the ground.
She immediately shut the door and, with a flick of her wrist, took out a long whip from her space.
