After Wang Shi left, Hua Wanxi fed the two babies again and took them into the bathroom to clean their little bottoms.

After changing them into dry, fresh diapers, the two little ones grew drowsy again. Hua Wanxi carried them out of the bathroom and laid them back down in the stiff bed.

Suddenly, something flashed through her mind.Full novel: Transmigration: Fleeing Famine with Two Babies, Starting Out with a Bathroom — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She remembered clearly that yesterday she had counted the diapers—there were twelve in total. Yesterday, she and the two babies had already used eight. So why, when she had just opened the cabinet, did it still look like there were plenty inside?

Her heart jolted.

She immediately slipped into the bathroom space again to recount everything carefully.

And under deliberate inspection, she discovered a huge problem.

On the shelf, the two bath towels and three face towels she had taken out yesterday were neatly hanging back in place.

In the dirty laundry basket, one set of pajamas and one set of outdoor clothes were also still there.

She looked down at herself—under her padded coat, the checkered sleepwear she had worn earlier was still perfectly in place.

Her eyes widened in shock and delight.

Could it be… the bathroom had an automatic reset function?!

She opened the cabinet.

“One, two, three, four, five, six…”

The diapers were still ten.

Adding the two she had just used on the babies made exactly twelve again.

Hua Wanxi nearly lost her mind with joy, barely holding back a scream as she rushed to the window ledge to check.

The four bars of Shanghai soap she had given Wang Shi yesterday had reappeared.

Even the used soap scraps in the storage box had been restored to their original state.

OMG!

This is amazing!

She burst into cheers.

She was going to be rich!

This was an endless supply of resources!

From now on, she no longer had to scrimp and save. She had even been worrying about what to use as diapers once the diapers ran out—now that problem was completely solved.

Right now, the most important thing was to figure out the rules of this bathroom reset system. She had to make full use of it without wasting a single resource.

Even the trash can was empty—the used diapers from yesterday had disappeared too. Even trash could reset. That meant anything inconvenient could simply be thrown in here in the future.

But she wasn’t sure whether the bathroom could store other items besides its original supplies.

Hua Wanxi took a bowl of warm boiled water and placed it inside, wanting to test whether it would still be there tomorrow—and whether it would still be warm.

Next, she needed to figure out how to move the supplies out safely.

Her house was small, but since they were poor, there wasn’t much furniture. She could still find places to hide things.

Since Wang Shi wouldn’t be coming for a while, she locked the door carefully and brought all the soap out of the bathroom.

For now, she left the other items untouched. They were too advanced for this era—there was no way she could sell them yet.

She sorted all the soap carefully.

Those without simplified Chinese characters were set aside; those could be sold directly as finished soap products without scraping them down.

The rest—those with unfamiliar modern characters—were scraped off and turned into handmade soap for sale.

After sorting, she realized only about forty bars needed scraping. The rest had floral patterns or English text, which no one here would recognize anyway.

She put on finger protectors, picked up a scraper, and began working while thinking.

This was her habit. Whenever she did repetitive manual work, her mind became especially calm and efficient.

Some of the soap hadn’t fully dried yet, so scraping it wasn’t as crisp and satisfying as before. But she didn’t care anymore.

Earlier, she had done it for relaxation; now she was doing it for survival. Speed and precision mattered—feelings didn’t.

After finishing all the scraping, she stood up, rubbed her sore waist, put on gloves, and began making handmade soap with molds.

There was still a lot of soap scrap left in the two storage boxes—it would take a long time to finish.

Seeing that Wang Shi would likely arrive soon, she quickly hid everything again.

Nearly a hundred handmade soaps were now neatly stored in her cabinet. The buckets and basins were too conspicuous, so she returned them to the bathroom.

Just then, she unlatched the door and lay back down on the bed, waiting.

Soon, Wang Shi arrived. Even before entering, her excited voice could be heard:

“Second sister-in-law, I’m here!”

She came in carrying two large baskets with a shoulder pole and placed several bundles on the table before closing the door behind her.

“Come quickly and see what your uncle brought back—do you like them?”

Before even looking at anything else, Hua Wanxi’s eyes landed on the two thick quilts tied with rope, and she broke into a delighted smile.

Finally—they wouldn’t have to sleep under that rock-hard bedding anymore.

She quickly put on her shoes and sat at the table, eyes bright with joy.

“Wow! So many things! Uncle is amazing!”

“That’s right!” Wang Shi said proudly. “Let me tell you, your uncle said your soap was incredibly popular. He just took it out in the shop, and before he could even ask, a steward from a wealthy household saw it and bought everything on the spot. Look at this number.”

She held up two fingers.

“Two taels?” Hua Wanxi guessed.

“Yes!” Wang Shi nodded excitedly. “A full two taels of silver!”

“The buyer even said if there are more of this kind of good stuff in the future, just go to their back gate to find him!”

Hua Wanxi was genuinely shocked.

Two taels of silver… that was a huge amount of purchasing power here.

With four bars of soap selling for two taels, one bar was worth about five hundred copper coins. Even accounting for novelty and luck, even if each bar only sold for one hundred coins in the future, she would still make a fortune.

And it was pure profit.

A completely costless business.

Happiness surged in her heart.

With this soap, she was confident she could give her children a good life.

Before she could fully enjoy her excitement, Wang Shi handed her the remaining coins.

“This is what was left after buying everything. Your uncle bought rice, flour, a hundred eggs, and two jin of meat. I already took them to the kitchen. I’ll cook you a good meal today!”

Just as she was about to leave, Hua Wanxi quickly called out:

“Sister-in-law, stay and eat here tonight! We should celebrate such a good day!”

Whenever she was happy in her past life, she had always had the habit of sharing a meal with others to celebrate.
