In the afternoon, Song Wenxi went to the Le’ai Company.
Several experienced directors in the program team knew exactly what kind of person she was rumored to be—flashy, arrogant, hard to communicate with, and picky.
None of them were willing to be her artist director.
Zhang Bi had only joined the team recently. He was in his thirties but looked rough, as if he were already in his forties. Since no one else wanted to take charge of Song Wenxi, he was pushed into the role.
Song Wenxi arrived at the agreed time. After a brief introduction with the director, they immediately got down to business. She flipped through the script while listening to the director and Anna discuss the program details.
The script was very simple—just a rough framework. The show allowed a high degree of freedom, and the guests had no fixed lines. However, the content direction was structured: they had to cook for themselves, stay in shared twin rooms, manage a farm, and so on.
When discussing tomorrow’s travel arrangements, Song Wenxi decided to take the production team’s arranged vehicle.
The entire communication process went smoothly.
After she left, Zhang Bi politely said goodbye to Anna. Once outside the company, he finally let out a breath of relief.
Based on initial contact, Song Wenxi didn’t seem as difficult as the rumors suggested—she was even quite easygoing.
He couldn’t understand why the company had packaged her with such a negative image. Was it a “black-and-red” marketing strategy? If so, the “black” part was definitely there—but where was the “red”?
..
That night, Song Wenxi packed her luggage while the three children helped pass items to her.
“Xiao Yu, bring Mommy the medicine box on the chair.”
“Baby Qing, that sunscreen jacket too.”
“Chenchen, can you reach the skincare bag on the table?”
She sat on the carpet directing the little ones when Mo Hanche walked in.
Without hesitation, she gave him an order too.
“Can you get the blue bucket hat from the top shelf in the wardrobe?”
Mo Hanche went into her walk-in closet, took the hat, and then simply sat down on the carpet to watch her pack.
She was clearly experienced—rolling clothes tightly, vacuum-sealing bulky items, and stuffing small objects into gaps between larger ones. Everything was arranged with practiced efficiency.
Mo Hanche thought to himself that she was even more efficient than Bai Shuo. Maybe next time he went on a business trip, he could let her pack for him.
Song Wenxi finished packing two suitcases and instructed the family of four:
“Mo Hanche, you pick up the kids from school this afternoon. Babies, remember to water the flowers. And although you all can swim now, you are not allowed to go into the pool without an adult, understood?”
The four of them all responded.
The three children clung to her, unwilling to go back to their room. Song Wenxi felt a bit reluctant too, so she allowed them to stay.
Standing by the bed, Mo Hanche looked at the empty space beside her.
Song Wenxi stretched one leg out casually into that space and met his deep gaze.
“When you leave, turn off the lights and close the door. Good night. Thank you.”
The three children waved.
“Good night, Daddy. Turn off the lights and close the door.”
There was no place for him here—for now.
Mo Hanche sighed helplessly, leaving a bedside lamp on, switching off the main light, and quietly exiting the master bedroom. He returned to the guest room.
The villa was quiet. The family went to bed early and slept peacefully through the night.
The next morning, the children woke up a little downcast.
When they saw their mother coming out with a suitcase, Mo Dongchen suddenly burst into loud tears. That single cry triggered the others—both older brothers rushed over and hugged her legs, crying loudly.
“Waaah… don’t leave Mommy…”
So much for all the psychological preparation from the past few days.
Song Wenxi felt a headache coming on. She didn’t like this kind of emotional, strategic crying from children. She simply patted their heads and let them cry it out.
Aunt Zhao stood nearby anxiously. She had never seen the three young masters cry so badly. Shouldn’t Madam say something or comfort them?
Mo Hanche frowned and said sternly, “Mo Beiyu, Mo Nanqing, Mo Dongchen.”
The three children’s eyes were red and teary, but they only glanced at him before continuing to cling to their mother.
Mo Hanche almost laughed from anger.
Not long ago, one word from him would make them instantly obedient. Now he had no authority at all.
Mo Beiyu secretly peeked at him—his father looked like he was smiling, yet also seemed a little angry. He got scared and slowly stopped crying.
Once one stopped, the other two gradually quieted down too. Three pairs of teary eyes looked at Song Wenxi.
She crouched down and wiped their tears.
Then she took out her phone, opened her photo album, and showed them pictures and videos of themselves.
“Mommy has all your photos and videos here. No matter where I go, I’ll always think about you. Will you miss me?”
Mo Dongchen wrapped his arms around her neck. “I will miss Mommy.”
Mo Beiyu and Mo Nanqing each kissed her cheek.
Their soft little lips made her heart melt, though her expression remained calm.
“You can cry, but it won’t change anything. Mommy still has to go to work. Do you still want to cry? You can continue if you want.”
The three of them shook their heads.
Even though they still felt a little sad, crying didn’t seem meaningful anymore.
Song Wenxi gently pinched their cheeks and checked the time. It was already too late for kindergarten.
After thinking for a moment, she called the teacher to ask for leave.
The children, hearing they didn’t have to go to school, instantly forgot their sadness.
Mo Hanche lifted them into the car.
“If you’re not going to school, then you’ll go to work with me.”
Lately, they had become too clingy—always acting spoiled and cute, pushing boundaries.
The three little heads pressed against the car window, watching their mother disappear from view.
After some delay, two cars finally left the villa.
In the front Cullinan, Mo Hanche lectured the children:
“On Friday night, didn’t you promise Mommy you understood she was only going to work and wouldn’t change?”
The three children nodded in unison.
“Then why did you cry and make a scene? You didn’t keep your promise. You don’t trust Mommy either. Are you liars?”
Mo Beiyu sighed like a little adult. “Dad, I was wrong. I’ll keep my promise next time.”
Mo Nanqing looked serious. “I believe Mommy.”
Mo Dongchen leaned closer to his father. “I’m not a liar. Mommy said liars become ugly, and she won’t like them.”
Every one of them had their own logic. No wonder Song Wenxi was “softened” by them.
“Hmph. Reflect properly.”
Mo Hanche crossed his arms, glancing at the little dark head pressed beside him. That little crybaby was definitely the most troublesome one.
Bai Shuo, driving, raised his eyebrows slightly.
The boss was clearly enjoying this.
When they reached the city, the two cars split.
Song Wenxi got out of the Bentley and walked to the Cullinan. The rear window rolled down, revealing Mo Hanche sitting by the window with the three children obediently saying goodbye.
“Take care of yourself.”
“Goodbye, Mommy.”
This time, they were very well-behaved.
Mo Hanche gestured for her to come closer. Song Wenxi bent down slightly.
He quickly kissed her, then rolled the window back up and signaled Bai Shuo to drive.
Watching the car leave, Song Wenxi twitched her lips.
What was wrong with this man? So awkward. It’s not like she wouldn’t let him kiss her—why sneak attacks? Did he think she would eat him alive?
Inside the car, Mo Hanche’s lips curved slightly.
He had decided on something—
He would play hard to get.
He couldn’t make it too easy for her.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t know how to cherish it.
