“Are your hands dead? Why are you pressing so hard?!”
“Lift it!”
With Yun Qingman’s furious roar, the baton in her hand was about to strike down again—when Song Wenxi suddenly pushed the door open.
Seeing what Yun Qingman was doing, her eyes sharpened instantly. In three quick strides, she rushed forward and grabbed the woman’s hand just in time.
The piano let out a dull, heavy sound. The lingering note trembled in the air.
Song Wenxi’s gaze locked onto the piano keys—on the pair of red, swollen little hands resting there. Then she looked up and met a pair of tear-filled, watery “deer eyes.”
Her heart tightened.
She turned again—and saw the other two children, both with red-rimmed eyes.
Anger surged from her feet straight to her head.
She whipped her head around and glared at Yun Qingman.
Yun Qingman was startled by that gaze, a flicker of fear flashing through her mind.
She knew Song Wenxi had a volatile temper—she often screamed and raged at home over the smallest noise from the children. That was exactly why she had left the door slightly open on purpose. She wanted to see her lose control.
This morning, when Yun Qingman arrived at the Mo residence, Mo Hanche had just been leaving for work. Before he left, he even reminded the children:
“Mom is resting in Dad’s room. Be good at class. If anything happens, go find her.”
Yun Qingman had nearly gone insane with jealousy.
Song Wenxi was nothing but a vain, selfish, irresponsible woman—she didn’t deserve Mo Hanche at all.
And yet, she never expected Song Wenxi to come upstairs. In the two years she had been teaching here, Song Wenxi had never once stepped upstairs.
Now, full of rage, Song Wenxi dragged Yun Qingman out of the piano room.
She turned back and looked at the children, forcing her voice down:
“Babies, stay here. Don’t come out.”
She shut the door tightly.
Then she dragged Yun Qingman all the way to the end of the hallway.
Snatching the baton from her hand, she grabbed Yun Qingman’s wrist, raised it high, and struck down hard.
“Ah—! Song Wenxi, you’re crazy! Let go of me! Ah—!”
No matter how Yun Qingman struggled, she couldn’t break free. The screams echoed through the corridor as the baton repeatedly struck her hands.
Zhao Ma heard the noise and rushed upstairs. When she saw Song Wenxi angrily beating someone, she froze in place, stunned like she had seen a ghost.
Yun Qingman, desperate, shouted:
“Zhao Ma, save me! Song Wenxi is crazy!”
“You bitch! Let go of me! I’ll report you! I’ll call the police!”
Zhao Ma panicked and quickly took out her phone, sending messages to the master.
「Something’s wrong, sir! The music teacher is fighting with Madam! She says she’s calling the police—please come back quickly!」
She sent it three times.
At that moment, in the Cullinan heading toward a club, Mo Hanche’s phone suddenly buzzed three times in a row.
He frowned.
Fight? Call the police?
He thought Zhao Ma might have gone senile.
But since she sent it three times, it clearly wasn’t trivial.
Back at the villa, Song Wenxi only stopped when Yun Qingman’s hands were already red and swollen, close to bleeding.
Yun Qingman collapsed onto the floor, disheveled—hair messy, clothes wrinkled, makeup ruined.
Song Wenxi stood over her, cold and calm.
“Who gave you the right?”
“What kind of garbage teaching is this? Your mouth is filthy, and your hands are disgusting—you enjoy hitting children for fun?”
“Do you think working here for two years makes you the lady of this house?”
Yun Qingman trembled with humiliation and anger as she struggled to stand.
With a twisted sneer, she said:
“Heh… what do you know? You’re just a pretty vase. The three kids can draw, write calligraphy, and play piano—those are all my teaching!”
“You only know how to show off your face and enjoy Mo Hanche’s money. You dress up like a peacock all day pretending to be something!”
“You have nothing except your face! You don’t deserve this family, and you don’t deserve Mo Hanche!”
Song Wenxi glanced at her calmly.
White shirt, black skirt, cheap foundation caked on her face, a plastic pearl necklace around her neck. Her expression was ugly and distorted.
Ridiculous.
“What I deserve or don’t deserve is not for you to decide,” Song Wenxi said evenly.
“Jealous all you want. If it’s not yours, no amount of envy will change that.”
She didn’t bother arguing further.
In Yun Qingman’s mind, she had always believed she was “more caring, more responsible, more virtuous” than Song Wenxi. But that comparison only twisted her into something uglier.
“You’re fired.”
“Don’t show up in front of my family again. If you do, I don’t mind making this public in the police station and education bureau.”
“Zhao Ma, see her out.”
Song Wenxi turned to leave.
Yun Qingman panicked instantly.
“I was hired by Mr. Mo! You have no right to fire me!”
“I’ve worked hard for two years! I care about the children more than you ever did!”
“You can’t dismiss me!”
Song Wenxi paused slightly and turned her head.
“Mo Hanche listens to me too.”
She lifted the baton slightly.
“Leave before I lose my temper. Otherwise, it won’t just be your hands.”
Just then—
Mo Hanche arrived upstairs.
He caught the last sentence.
His expression twitched slightly.
So… this was the “fight”?
Yun Qingman immediately rushed to him with teary eyes, holding her injured hands out pitifully.
“Mr. Mo… it’s not what you think, Miss Song misunderstood me…”
“I hit you on purpose,” Song Wenxi cut in immediately. “I didn’t misunderstand. I hit you openly.”
Mo Hanche glanced at her.
Still sharp-tongued, still bold… but strangely, not as annoying as before.
“Song Wenxi.”
His voice was cold.
“What?”
She glared at him, unafraid.
He looked at her for a moment, then said flatly:
“No swearing.”
Then he turned to Zhao Ma:
“What happened?”
Zhao Ma scratched her head.
“I’m not sure exactly… but Yun teacher spoke badly to Madam and hit the children. Madam got angry and hit her back.”
Mo Hanche’s gaze turned icy and sharp, like a blade.
Yun Qingman shivered immediately.
“I didn’t mean to hit them… I was just teaching…”
Before she could finish—
Song Wenxi snapped:
“Teaching? If I hadn’t stopped you, my Xiaoqing’s hand would be ruined!”
“You took your jealousy out on three children—don’t think I’m blind!”
She raised her hand again.
Yun Qingman stumbled back in fear.
Mo Hanche grabbed Song Wenxi’s wrist.
“This woman… is getting more violent than before.”
He finally understood everything.
He glanced at Yun Qingman coldly.
“Zhao Ma, escort her out.”
“From now on, she is not allowed to step into this house again.”
“No—Mr. Mo! I was wrong! Please don’t fire me—!”
But Zhao Ma had already moved quickly, half dragging and half pushing Yun Qingman out of the villa.
