A policewoman led Jin Qiao out from the small room.

The cameraman had already turned off the livestream and was waiting in the lobby with Yu Siyi for Jin Qiao to appear.

“Police Miss, these two people might be human traffickers. Can you check them out?”Full novel: Transmigration: Villain’s Mother, A Vicious Supporting Female Character Who Dies Early — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Jin Qiao said jokingly.

“Human traffickers have been rampant recently. We’ll check their identities,” the policewoman replied.

Jin Qiao nodded.

Seeing his mom emerge, Yu Siyi ran toward her, trying to hide his little sulk.

She scooped him up, comforting him as they walked outside.

“Alright, bye-bye, pretty sister! Zaizai, say bye-bye to her.”

Yu Siyi lifted his head from his mom’s embrace and waved his little hand obediently at the officer.

As soon as they left the police station, they ran into a tall, handsome man.

“You’re impressive, taking your son to the police station like that,” Yu Jia’s tone was full of mockery.

Jin Qiao couldn’t hide what had already happened—she just wanted to know how he knew she took her son out… and went to the police station for a little tour.

Could he have seen the livestream?

Her gaze lingered, full of curiosity.

Seeing her look, he guessed what she was thinking and explained:

“Your son notified me.”

He pointed to the watch on Yu Siyi’s wrist.

Fair enough—understandable that a son would get his dad involved.

“Gurgle… gurgle…”

A strange sound came from Yu Siyi. He covered his tummy and shyly leaned back into Jin Qiao’s arms.

“You’re amazing, letting yourself get this hungry.”

Jin Qiao suddenly realized she was hungry too—she had been so busy doing good deeds, she’d forgotten! And she’d let her own son go hungry!

“Have you eaten?”

Yu Jia hadn’t reacted yet to her sudden question and shook his head.

“Okay, then let’s eat together. My treat. You drove, right?”

He nodded again.

“Oh, Xiao Li, take this cameraman back.”

“Barbecue time, barbecue time!”

Yu Jia didn’t say much—he just drove them to Jinda obediently.

“Sorry for letting our baby go hungry,” Jin Qiao said softly, rubbing Yu Siyi’s little cheek.

Yu Siyi didn’t blame his mom; he thought she was amazing—a single kick could send someone flying! Simply heroic!

Once at Jinda, Jin Qiao led her little and big companions to the reserved private room and started ordering food.

When the meat arrived, Jin Qiao took the lead, covering the whole grill. “Is there anything you don’t eat? Any dietary restrictions?”

She asked Yu Jia first, since it was the first time treating him to a meal and she didn’t know his tastes.

“I don’t eat lamb,” he replied flatly, showing no emotion.

Jin Qiao didn’t mind his coldness—they weren’t familiar yet. Besides, she didn’t like lamb either, so it wasn’t on the table.

She barely ate any herself, serving pieces to her son and to the man across from her.

Yu Siyi wanted to try, but Jin Qiao refused—fried meat isn’t good for small hands.

In her heart, she vowed never to eat barbecue with them again—it was better to have her own table for that.

Yu Jia observed Jin Qiao the whole meal, feeling some inexplicable emotions rising inside.

After dropping Jin Qiao and Yu Siyi home, Yu Jia drove back to the office.

Jin Qiao enjoyed a relaxing bath.

Back at the office, Yu Jia stared at two sets of files on his desk. Same name, but the behaviors and habits inside were completely different—two people, unrelated.

He rubbed his forehead, confirming his earlier suspicion. Jin Qiao was back, yet didn’t remember him.

When she left before, she said nothing—just gave birth and quietly disappeared, leaving him with nothing to remember her by.

A ruthless woman. He wouldn’t forgive her easily.

He grabbed his coat and drove back home.

When Yu Jia arrived, the house was dark. In the master bedroom, Jin Qiao was curled up on the big bed hugging the blanket, fast asleep.

His eyes darkened as he turned and went to the bathroom.

The next morning began with Jin Qiao repeatedly exclaiming, “Ah? Ah? Ah?”

“You… you… you came back last night?”

“And… and I was holding you… why didn’t you resist?”

Yu Jia found her reaction amusing.

“And how do you think I should have resisted?”

“You could’ve pushed me away! Or woken me up!”

“Okay, next time I’ll do that.”

“Fine.”

Wait—next time? There’s a next time?? What is this?!

Jin Qiao studied Yu Jia carefully. He had that roguish-cool charm, but also a hint of a puppy-dog side—perfect for her taste.

Secretly, she admired him.

Yu Jia noticed her gaze deliberately avoiding him, giving him the chance to show off his handsome profile.

After all, he had used this face to charm people before. Jin Qiao had even said he was her type.

But now… just looking didn’t lead to anything. Had he lost his edge over the years?

Our CEO Yu Jia developed a sudden case of morning face-anxiety.

Jin Qiao wanted to act, but her reason kept her from touching him.

Sigh—can only look, can’t touch. So frustrating.

Over the next few days, she noticed Yu Jia was acting oddly. He usually buried himself in work and was rarely home, but now he came home every night for dinner.

And he slept in the master bedroom.

Jin Qiao protested, but he said, “We’re married. If we don’t share a room, what will your son think?”

Fine—she surrendered.

The next day, he handed her a black card—her complaints and resentment evaporated.

Kiss, kiss.

Yu Siyi spent the days happily with his mom, doing whatever he wanted, living a peaceful life.

He grew more lively, plump even, his previously skinny little body filling out nicely.

“Zaizai’s hands are getting so good! Let Mommy hold you!”

Yu Siyi cooperated, leaping into her arms.

Jin Qiao lifted him, bouncing him lightly. “Nice! Finally getting some meat on you.”

He wrapped his arms around her neck, pointing at the notebook on the table.

“Want me to go buy more notebooks with you?”

Yes, yes—Yu Siyi blinked his big eyes at her.

“Let’s change shoes and go. The snacks Mommy bought are almost gone—you’ll help me restock!”

Hand in hand, mother and son stepped outside.

After seeing their daily interactions, Nurse Wu felt overjoyed. Jin Qiao was gentle, never lost her temper or threw things for no reason. She treated the little master wonderfully.

Even if she were acting, she couldn’t do it this well. Jin Qiao had truly woken up.

The little master was coming home more often.

The house finally felt like a home.

After finishing their shopping spree, Jin Qiao and Yu Siyi received a call from the production team.
