Xu Lanxi spoke a long string of words, tiring herself out, yet the person beside her did not offer a single rebuttal for the longest time. She had originally wanted to see Ye Xunshu crying to satisfy her spite, but now that the girl was just standing there obediently without saying a word, it started to feel boring.
Did she even realize she was being mocked?
“Is Lanxi-Sister finished speaking?” Ye Xunshu suddenly raised her eyes, looking steadily toward her.
There were no expected tear stains, nor a single trace of dejection. Her gaze was as clear as usual, almost as if she were questioning whether the words just spoken even existed. It was as if Ye Xunshu did not care about those words at all.
This reaction caught Xu Lanxi completely off guard. She tried her best to control her expression and snorted, “I am finished.”
“Since you are finished, how about Xunshu takes Sister to a certain place?”
Xu Lanxi sized her up. “What place?”
Ye Xunshu smiled. “There is a rouge shop not far from here that specializes in cosmetics. Xunshu wants to go take a look.”
Seeing the situation between the two improve, the cameraman reopened the Water Mirror live stream. A large number of viewers immediately flooded into the live room, all wanting to see the follow-up.
[What happened? What happened? Why is it back on?] [Why is the Little Rabbit not crying?] [Miss Ye is beautiful and strong-willed; she will not be bullied to tears by Xu Lanxi.] [I am curious, does Ye Xunshu only cry in front of Fu Yi?] [Why does everyone like seeing people cry? What bad taste.]
Seeing her take the initiative to suggest the rouge shop, Xu Lanxi assumed her previous words had made Ye Xunshu realize something. She smiled triumphantly and said, “Then let us go have a look at the rouge shop.”
Ye Xunshu glanced at her and laughed softly. “Alright. Sister did not sleep well last night, did she? I remember that shop sells powder. It is perfect for buying some to cover up those dark blemishes around Sister’s eyes.”
Xu Lanxi’s face instantly turned pale with rage. The audience, who had just squeezed into the live room, heard these two sentences immediately. A wave of laughter floated across the bullet screen.
[Xu Lanxi’s dark circles are really heavy. Miss Xu’s habit of being unable to sleep in strange beds is really backfiring.] [I do not know why, but hearing Ye Xunshu say that is so satisfying.] [Xu Lanxi was so mean to the Little Rabbit, yet the Little Rabbit is still thinking of her! Thinking of it this way makes me hate Xu Lanxi even more!]
Xu Lanxi, being someone who never suffered a loss, knew she had not gained the upper hand in front of Ye Xunshu, so her mouth did not stop for a second. Just as the cameraman was about to close the Water Mirror, Xu Lanxi glared at him. “Do not you dare close it!”
“Broadcast every single word this young lady says without missing a bit!”
The Alpha’s aura was overbearing. The Beta cameramen looked at each other and ultimately did not dare to turn it off. Ye Xunshu looked at Xu Lanxi, remained very calm, and stepped into the rouge shop.
The shop owner saw customers arrive and stepped forward with a smile to greet them. “It is Miss Xu! And this lady, I have not seen her before, she is”
The words came to an abrupt halt. The expression on the owner’s face changed suddenly, not daring to continue. Ye Xunshu shifted her gaze from the owner to Xu Lanxi.
Xu Lanxi gave a light laugh and said to herself, “I heard that the day Fu Yi took you to the streets and ran into Zhou Ying, she said something shocking, that a Beta can also find an Alpha. You should understand the meaning of those words, right, Little Sister?”
“Zhou Ying used to be involved with Fu Yi. I heard it was at this very rouge shop that Fu Yi even bought rouge to give to her. For an Alpha to give someone rouge, the meaning could not be clearer, could it?”
The viewers in the live room listened to Xu Lanxi’s output and looked at Ye Xunshu’s reaction. Ye Xunshu stood in place. The hand she had extended to pick up some rouge paused slightly, then retracted, tightly clutching her sleeve.
[Why is Ye Xunshu not speaking?] [What is going on?] [Why is Xu Lanxi so annoying? This is on a show; why make an Omega so embarrassed?] [Ye Xunshu is shaking; is she crying?] [Xu Lanxi is such a jerk.] [Is what she said true? Did Fu Yi really give Zhou Ying rouge?] [It must be fake. If she really had that rouge, Zhou Ying would be flaunting it every day.] [Do not cry, Little Rabbit! I will kick Xu Lanxi out for you!] [This Alpha is no good! No good at all!] [Xu Lanxi versus Fu Yi; Fu Yi wins.]
Xu Lanxi was very satisfied with Ye Xunshu’s silent reaction. She stepped forward, walked up to her side, and leaned down.
[What did she say? Let me hear it!] [What? What? What is this jerk Alpha Xu Lanxi going to do to Ye Xunshu now?] [Why has Fu Yi not arrived yet? Is no one on-site going to stop this?]
“Xunshu-Sister, why are you not speaking?” Xu Lanxi said with a smirk. She slowly picked up the box of rouge next to Ye Xunshu, opened it, and remarked, “This box of rouge was chosen by Sister; the color is truly nice.”
“If it were applied to Sister’s lips, it would be the icing on the cake.”
Ye Xunshu’s reddened knuckles tightened. Her pale face was turned away from the Water Mirror, and her voice came out with difficulty through gritted teeth as she sneered, “Sister, what is the meaning of releasing pheromones in broad daylight?”
In all of Yangzhou, everyone knew what kind of people Fu Yi and Xu Lanxi were. There were many people in the shop originally, but once they sensed Xu Lanxi releasing her pheromones, they immediately grabbed their companions and ran out.
Only the viewers in front of the Water Mirror and the Beta cameramen on-site remained oblivious. The shop owner was an Omega. She had long since sensed the pheromones Xu Lanxi was releasing, but she could barely protect herself and did not step forward to stop it.
Xu Lanxi carefully admired Ye Xunshu’s helpless state and smiled. “Does your Fu Yi-Sister know about this side of your personality?”
“Everyone thinks you are a little white rabbit. Tell me, if Fu Yi knew about your foxy nature, would she still like you?”
Ye Xunshu held onto the shelf beside her, her legs constantly turning weak. She whispered, “She”
She would not like her anyway. Ye Xunshu forced down her body’s desires and gave a weak laugh. Xu Lanxi frowned as she looked at her.
“Sister, you should pack it in,” Ye Xunshu bit her lower lip. “If you keep releasing them, be careful not to end up with the same reputation as Fu Yi-Sister.”
[What are these two doing? Why will they not turn around?] [Ye Xunshu’s ears are so red; something is wrong.]
Ye Xunshu truly could not take it anymore. She covered her mouth and nose with her hand, swaying unsteadily. In front of so many people, how could she do this in front of so many people?
Fortunately, Xu Lanxi had controlled her pheromones; they were enough to trigger Ye Xunshu’s heat but not enough to make her lose her mind completely. Xu Lanxi smelled a scent that did not belong to her. Ye Xunshu naturally noticed it too, but she could not control it. The scent of sweet osmanthus grew wildly.
Fu Yi had originally been following Ye Xunshu, but Zhou Ying had been distracting her the whole way; one moment her legs were tired and she wanted a piggyback ride, the next she wanted to play with dough figurines together. It was torturous.
With one lapse of concentration, Fu Yi lost track of Ye Xunshu. She was preoccupied for the rest of the way, but Zhou Ying did not notice at all. Fu Yi had an ominous premonition. The longer it dragged on, the stronger the feeling became.
It was as if as long as she was not by Ye Xunshu’s side, or rather, as long as Ye Xunshu was with Xu Lanxi, she felt something would go wrong. But with so many people from the production crew following them, Fu Yi tried to convince herself that Xu Lanxi would not dare to act so recklessly.
Yet, the unease remained. Something in the dark seemed to be telling Fu Yi to go to Ye Xunshu.
“What is Fu Yi-Sister thinking about?” Zhou Ying held the dough figurine in her hand. She could guess why Fu Yi was like this. She reached out to try and hold Fu Yi’s hand. “Since Sister came out with me today, stop thinking about Xunshu-Sister, okay?”
Fu Yi slapped her hand away. Zhou Ying was stunned.
Fu Yi felt uneasy, and the look she gave was unfriendly, though she did not realize it herself. “Xunshu said it herself; she is not your sister.”
“Your relationship is not that good, so do not call her that.”
After saying that, she gave the dough figurine in her hand to Zhou Ying.
“Sister, where are you going?” Zhou Ying asked weakly, but she did not follow immediately.
Fu Yi did not answer Zhou Ying anymore and ran off alone to find Ye Xunshu. This turn of events was unexpected; what Alpha would suddenly abandon a Beta at a time like this? The cameramen quickly split into two groups: one followed Fu Yi, while the other stayed with Zhou Ying.
Zhou Ying looked at the Little Rabbit in her hand. She seemed to understand why her Fu Yi-Sister had chosen this one. Clearly, there were so many dough figurines, yet she specifically chose this one. Because of all the figurines there, not one was like Ye Xunshu.
This little rabbit, which was not even a proper dough person, was the one most like Ye Xunshu in her sister’s heart. From morning to night, from beginning to end, her sister’s heart had always been with Ye Xunshu.
