Two days passed in a blur, and Lukas spent them lavishly.

"I am getting poor already," he said with a sigh while looking at the meager five hundred thousand that remained in his account.

He leaned further into the soft embrace of the bed, till his head was facing the white ceiling directly.Full novel: Trickster God In Another World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ding!

His phone chimed loudly, then it began to ring.

Lukas frowned.

He had not given anyone his number before. Why was someone suddenly calling him?

He thought about it again, then sat up, on the edge of the bed.

"Hello," he said after picking up the call.

[Hello.] The voice on the other side was rough and loud, but it only made Lukas widen his eyes.

’Fuck!’

The thought echoed in his mind like a gong.

[Why are you silent?] The person asked. [So it is true that you stole my money to start a new life for yourself.]

"Mr Tencent," Lukas said with a wry laugh. "Why would I do that?"

Tencent paused for a second.

[You are at Victory Hotel, you’ve been there for over four days now. Aside from that, you also went to the Association to verify as an awakened. You think you can fool me?]

Everything Tencent said only made Lukas’s frown tighten.

’He has been monitoring me?’ he wondered.

Both sides remained silent for a while.

[Meet me outside the hotel now.]

Lukas’s breath hitched at those words.

The thought of remaining inside the hotel crossed his mind. ’He might only know the hotel, there’s no way he knows the room I stay in.’

As if reading Lukas’s thoughts, Tencent spoke again. [You stay in an underground deluxe room. Room 7.]

It was as though a hammer had struck Lukas’s mind at that moment.

[I would be waiting.]

With those words, the call ended.

Lukas looked around, chest rising and falling at a rapid pace.

There was no way he was going to meet Tencent unarmed.

Then he sighed. "Even if I am armed, there’s nothing I can do to an Apostle-ranked awakened."

The gap was just too wide.

"Funny how me, a god, is scared of the apostle of another god."

This only served to reinforce the chasm between him and other gods.

Grogilly, Lukas pushed up from the bed, the cold of the floor biting the soles of his feet.

He stood up regardless, already walking towards the wardrobe to pull out the sky-blue suit hung neatly there.

’I just hope it does not lead to any physical confrontation.’

Lukas was well aware of his weak physique.

’At least, compared to others in this world, it is really weak.’

He slipped into his suit and knotted his black tie before turning away, putting on his polished black shoes, and turning towards the door.

He arranged his hair gently with his left hand as he stepped out of the room.

The long hallway unfurled before him; its darkness hiding its far end.

Lukas ignored all of these as he began taking slow steps forward.

His fingers were tapping the handle of the umbrella quickly.

His mind raced as he thought of the possible confrontation with Tencent.

But he maintained a calm exterior.

As the elevator door opened, Lukas saw another person standing inside.

A short, chubby boy with silver hair arranged neatly, and sleek black eyes that seemed to absorb the surrounding light.

The boy bowed slightly as he saw Lukas.

Lukas only nodded before he entered.

But he could not help but wonder how someone like that existed in a world where everyone had been washed by divine energy and their physique had been chiseled to perfection.

The doors chimed open, and Lukas stepped out, leaving his thoughts and the boy alone as he made his way toward the exit.

From the inside, he could already see the sleek black Limousine parked on the opposite side of the street.

’So help me god,’ he thought as he walked through the doors.

He crossed the street and in no time, was already standing in front of the car.

The guard standing beside the door opened the door for Lukas to enter before shutting the door.

He creased his brows as he looked around. There was no one there.

Only the driver was seated in the driver’s seat, and the guard entered the seat next to the driver the next second.

Without pause, the engine was ignited and Lukas was driven away.

Lukas stared through the window, his mind moving rapidly.

’I can escape at this moment,’ he thought with raised brows.

But he brushed the thoughts almost immediately.

Both the driver and the guard were at the servant rank, and their Patron god was probably going to be an offensive one.

’Being a trickster god limits me so much,’ he thought.

In no time, the scenery began to switch to somewhere Lukas had been before.

He raised a brow as he looked around.

’It had to be the slums I promised never to return to,’ he thought.

Around, children ran with half-torn clothes. Their bodies were covered in mud that hid their true colors beneath the dirt.

Drunk men stumbled around, almost tripping over innocent children who were running around.

Women dressed in half-open clothes that revealed almost all of their feminine features.

As the car moved, everyone parted.

After all, it was Tencent’s car, the major tyrant of the slum.

In this place, Tencent arguably had more influence than the association itself.

The car maneuvered its way through the streets until it stopped in front of a building.

Contrary to what Lukas had expected, this was a fairly normal place.

A warehouse in the middle of nowhere.

’Are my ears failing me already?’ he wondered as wails filled his ears.

The guard stepped down and opened the door for Lukas once again.

Lukas’s brows twitched at this. ’Is this what they mean by fattening the calf before slaughter?’ he wondered as he stepped out of the car.

Instantly, the atmosphere seemed to shift. The metallic scent of blood hit his nose, albeit faintly.

It was there nonetheless.
