this time he got up and immediately headed straight to the shower.

an entire night cultivating in the lotus position wasn’t taxing but very annoying, ‘so refreshment with some cleanliness would be nice.’ but as he walked out of the private courtyard, he saw the leader practice her own Wolf Nourishing Skill as well as practicing the basics of Ghost Blood Saber.

you can do that?!’ he thought that you had to split the 2 but to see her perfectly-well, semi successfully do it was awe inspiring!

he immediately decided to put it to the test, using the new Chimera Blood Nourishing while performing the Ghost Blood Saber.

but his success was horrid, almost passing out immediately after even thinking about attempting.

‘what the hell….’ he forgot that normal Pile Skills are less taxing on the lungs.

this allowed normal martial artists to use their Pile Skill and work on technique.

he decided to be able to adjust the speed of cultivation, since she was able to do it with the speed of the Wolf Nourishing Skill, he broke down the absorption mantra and replaced it with the Wolf’s.

now he reattempted with much better results!

‘the wolf skill is second slowest, only to the bear..’ yet this remained majorly taxing, even though with his major experience, major being an overstatement of himself.

he stopped and decided to modularise the mantra to make it be able to transform as well.

‘after all, a technique called Chimera should be adaptable in every and any situation don’t you think?’ he thought to himself.

before heading to the Agency, to apply for another mission.

he planned for something similar to last time, but he goofed off to much and lost a considerable head start at one point, so he planned to focus solely on working rather than being petty.

though, maybe after this mission, he’ll try satiate his hunger for chaos in another way..

but that was besides the point, as he entered the building and asked the Clerk for any mining task.

“There is a mining task for displacing stone and creating a hollow room, which requires about..

50 tons of stone..

If your willing to wait-” “Senior Brother, the reason I was recruited was because of my Mining, and Efficiency, give me 2 weeks, and I’ll be able to get it done myself.

if your worried, please question the 2 seniors brothers who hired me and they can vouch for me.” “hmm…” he frowned but yielded after all, Ma Qing’s first mission did quite a splash and showed off his efficiency, allowing Ma Qing take on the quest by Himself.

with that he went to the spot.

seeing that it was the same place where he chopped down the trees, he couldn’t help but raise a brow.

but instead, he decided to start.

there were a few builders on stand by, probably waiting for Ma Qing to start hollowing.

“excuse me, I’m a Miner of the Shen Agency, can you tell me where I’m to mine?” “just you?” the builders raised a brow.

“maybe the others will come later, but better to start early right~” I say cheerfully.

they look at each other and shrug before showing me the blue print and planning.

it was to built a very large basement that planned to be a pill refinement room, or so the builders guessed, it could probably be a basic cultivation room, but the room itself wa rather small for such a thing.

but either way, I started mining.

hollowing out the earth, pulling out tree stumps, and started on hollowing it out deep to build a solid foundation.

and surprisingly, his efficiency was through the roof!

with his capable Pickaxe in hand, he was steam rolling through the task at break neck speed!

not to mention, his previous mining method was to preserve as much energy, while maintaining a high output, maximising energy used.

when loosened, due to his physique being significantly greatened, due to cultivation and nutrients, his ability far surpassed that of his old self, who mined 5 full carts of stone in 4 hours!

now, each swing crumbled the earth swiftly, and weakened the stone behind.

the builders were perplexed by my sheer efficiency, being 2 times faster than a 2 man crew!

yet that only made them understand they get paid sooner.

after all, they don’t pay hourly, but the task getting done.

so the faster this is finished, the faster they can take on another job.

they burned with passion until the sun slowly set, as plenty of progress had been made within 1 day!

“Thanks to you, we made significant progress within the day, though I wonder when your senior brothers will come..” an older white speckled haired man asked.

“well, the deadline was 2 weeks, so probably if we aren’t done by then, more seniors would be made to come..” he lied seamlessly.

“I guess so, but with you here, we’ll probably set the foundation of the basement within a week!” another bearded man who was broad in build said, slapping Ma Qing’s back.

they decided to go out for some drinks and invited Ma Qing, but he refused, saying he’s underaged.

that baffled a ton of the men there!

after all, this kid, had 2 large scars on his face and had an efficiency of 4 able bodied men!

not to mention that the kid was surprisingly tall for his age, being around 5,5.

which was around the average height for the malnourished men and women of commoner families.

only martial artist and the nobility have the right to be tall.

‘probably due to my exploits when young- well, younger…’ after all, he still remembered he killed plenty, robbed plenty and ate and fed his siblings plenty.

‘if bad fortune comes, let everyone but his loved ones have it.’ he will claw his way through survival, and has clawed his way through survival.

he pulled himself out of his gruesome thoughts before saying his goodbyes and heading off home.

when he got to the apartment he was immediately tackled by his 2 siblings.

“you’ve been gone for way too long!” she stated loudly.

Ma Yan nodded, “yeah!

how come you started going off for nights on end!” his look of surprise softens and he chuckled.

petting the tornado twins and explained, “I’m important to the Agency now~ so I have to go out often to do work and get stronger, so we can have a proper home!” they felt a little disappointed, since they understood its gonna continue happening.

but after a couple of years of being with their brother, and guardian, they fully understood how to survive by themselves, if only for a short period.

Ma Qing finally walked in, and sighed at the mess.

the little ones looked away, whistling.

“go get brooms and rags.” he stated and the twins quickly got into action.

within 30 minutes, they easily got the place tidy, and fully deep cleaned the dirty apartment.

they all patted themselves on the back and fell asleep together on their eldest brother’s bed.

and so, Ma Qing slowly fell into a routine of mining.
