Soon, the meal was served.

Although the Cullen family didn’t need to eat, they lived in human society, so there was a distinction between choosing not to eat and being unable to.

Bella Swan also sat at the table.Full novel: Twilight: Rise of the Main God — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After all, judging by Rosalie Hale’s attitude earlier, Rosalie cared about this, so for the sake of her boyfriend, Bella decided she could manage to eat a little more.

Bella ate a small bit of greens like a lady.

Mike?

Mike was devouring his food.

After finishing the pasta on his plate and the vegetable salad Rosalie had personally prepared, Mike looked up at Rosalie, who was sitting with her boyfriend Emmett Cullen, and smiled.

“Rosalie, I have to say, this is the best salad I’ve ever eaten. Is there any more?”

Rosalie smiled.

“Of course.”

As she spoke, Rosalie stood up, took Mike’s plate, and walked back into the kitchen with a light clatter of footsteps.

Having someone praise the food she made made Rosalie feel very happy.

Bella, sitting demurely next to Edward Cullen, cast another glance of utter astonishment at Mike, who continued to chat and laugh with Carlisle Cullen and his wife.

At this moment, Bella was certain of one thing: Mike absolutely did not know the nature of the Cullen family.

Because in Bella’s view, no one—not a single person—could be this calm and unbothered while sitting at a table full of vampires.

While waiting for Rosalie to refill his plate, Mike smiled at Esme Cullen and complimented her.

“Mrs. Cullen, I have to say, this pasta tastes wonderful.”

Esme, whose appearance was forever frozen at twenty-six and who had beautiful brown hair, smiled.

“I’m glad you like it. I was afraid you wouldn’t be used to it.”

Mike waved his hand, exchanged a glance with Alice Cullen who was sitting nearby, and then said to Esme, “How could that be? If I had known you could make such delicious food, I wouldn’t have waited until today to come over. To be honest, I feel like I’ve missed out on many wonderful meals.”

Esme laughed out loud.

The others at the table also chimed in with laughter, and the atmosphere was incredibly harmonious, which even made Bella feel a tiny bit more relaxed.

At the same time, Bella was truly envious of Mike this time.

Look at him, and then look at herself.

They were both here for the first time, yet he had managed to hit it off with the Cullen family and integrate perfectly right away, while she seemed to have offended Rosalie the moment she walked in the door.

Bella took a deep breath internally, looked at the salad in front of her, and a glimmer of determination flashed in her eyes.

Half an hour later, both the pasta prepared by Esme and the vegetable salad prepared by Rosalie were finished.

Mike stood up and smiled.

“Let me clean up.”

Rosalie immediately took over Mike’s task, pulled up her boyfriend Emmett, and said, “Come on, Mike, you’re a guest. Oh, by the way, you haven’t visited Alice’s room yet, right?”

Mike shook his head honestly.

Rosalie smiled.

By the end of the meal, Mike had successfully gained Rosalie’s favor.

With the bonus of Rosalie’s favor, Emmett’s favor was naturally secured as well, and because he had just helped Bella out of a tight spot, he had also maxed out his favor with Edward.

What?

Where did Jasper go?

Who knows?

Anyway, Mike hadn’t seen any sign of Jasper since he arrived, and he wasn’t about to go asking about the whereabouts of a simp who was eyeing his girlfriend.

Naturally, the Cullen family, who already had a baseline of favor for him, wouldn’t bring it up either, not to mention Mike, whose favor level was now maxed out.

Mike felt that if he came to the Cullen family home again in the future, Jasper would likely continue to be missing.

Of course, Bella had also slightly clawed back a bit of Rosalie’s favor at the dinner table.

Although Bella felt a bit overstuffed, she felt it was all worth it when she saw that Rosalie was no longer looking at her with a predatory gaze.

Alice’s room was on the third floor.

It was huge.

The decor was different from the cold style he had seen when passing Edward’s room on the second floor.

Alice’s room was filled with an exquisite sense of life.

Large floor-to-ceiling windows allowed sunlight to spill in, and a hammock was placed by the windows.

On the hammock, Mike and Alice embraced, seemingly enjoying the sunshine and the tranquility.

Alice’s cool body rested against his, her head on his chest, one slender leg draped over his as her fingers absently traced slow circles along his side.

After a while, Alice suddenly looked up at the handsome face in her line of sight.

“I didn’t know that you, who are usually cold and taciturn at school, would suddenly become so talkative.”

Mike smiled.

“I’m not used to dealing with little brats.”

Alice’s eyes curved like the moon.

“Oh, really? Then may I ask how old Mr. Mike Lance is this year?”

Mike thought about it very seriously.

“Forty-seven, I guess.”

Alice chuckled.

“Alright then, still more than forty years younger than me.”

Mike lowered his head and smiled.

“It’s fine. I don’t mind.”

Alice blinked.

“Really?”

Mike nodded seriously.

What’s wrong with being a bit older?

Mike felt that finding a ninety-nine-year-old vampire girlfriend was a perfectly acceptable thing.

Furthermore, to a certain extent, Mike could now be considered imhuman.

Naturally, finding a vampire girlfriend who was also imhuman a classic example of a match made in heaven and a perfect pairing.

Alice listened to Mike’s words, which weren’t quite love confessions but were better than them, lowered her head and smiled, then remembered something and looked up. This chapter is updated first at g.com.

“Oh right, Rosalie thought you didn’t know our true identities earlier.”

Mike smiled.

“Is that so? Did she ask you?”

Alice nodded.

“Rosalie is probably wondering why you and Bella are both humans, yet the difference between you when facing us is so huge.”

Mike laughed.

“I’m no human.”

To be honest, if he had no combat power and had visited with Bella, although Mike would still be able to chat and laugh, he would still have some reservations.

Therefore, Mike could understand why Bella acted that way and why he was willing to help Bella out of her predicament.

Nothing more.

They would likely be family in the future, so helping with a small favor now might just come in handy later.

“I know you’re not.” Alice pursed her lips in a smile and nodded, rose from Mike’s arms, and looked at Mike with a smile.

“Let’s play a game.”

Mike became interested.

“Oh, what game?”

Alice blinked mischievously.

“I run, you chase.”

Mike continued.

“What’s the reward if I catch you?”

Alice chuckled, turned around, and jumped straight out of the open window.

“Catch me first, then we’ll talk.”

Mike sighed helplessly.
