I went down with keigan as keigan reached down he said “CEO kuya is back”
Keifer entered The loosened tie.The tired eyes.The slight crease between his eyebrows.He looked exhausted.Not physically.The kind of tired that came from responsibilities, meetings and problems that never seemed to end.
For the first time…
Mark Keifer Watson didn’t look like a CEO.
He just looked human.
He came inside and our eyes met .
“You came ” he said while looking at me
“Yes ” i said he smiled back looked towards serina Ma’am “Mom, I’ll come down in ten minutes.” Keifer said Serina Ma’am frowned.
“At least eat something first.”
“I will.” Keifer said.
Which probably meant he wouldn’t.
He looked back at us for a moment before speaking.
“Excuse me.”
And with that…
He walked upstairs.
For some reason…
My eyes followed him until he disappeared around the corner.
He looked exhausted.
More exhausted than anyone should be.
And somehow…
That bothered me more than it should have.
After some time footsteps echoed through the stairs.
I looked up.
Keifer was coming downstairs again.
The suit jacket was gone.
The tie had disappeared somewhere too.
Instead, he was wearing a simple black t-shirt and grey trousers.
His hair was still slightly messy from drying it quickly after the shower.
The exhaustion was still there.The dark circles hadn’t magically disappeared.But somehow…He looked lighter.
More relaxed.
Less like Mark Keifer Watson, the CEO of Watson Group.And more like…
Just Keifer.
For a moment I forgot what I was doing.
I shook my head .
I told ma’am i want to go but she told me stay here till the dinner.
Me and keigan were sitting at the couch.

I went to my bag kept on the table and I took out the cashews one and walked towards keifer.
I handed him the cookies.

“Oh cashews it’s my favourite , jay how do you know?” He asked looking at me Oh that was mine favourite that’s why I made this for you “I didn’t know I just guessed it ” i said with a smile “Lucky guess” he said and took out one from the box and ate it “It’s so tasty, Thank You” he said I smiled and nodded.
“Long day ?” I asked to keifer” Very ” he replied “Eat dinner and then take rest ” i said “Yes and what about you?” He asked “What?”
“What happened yesterday?” He asked i froze
This all remembered me of that demon who came to my house.
Just then i was about to reply him my phone rang “Just a min ” i said and stood up to pick up my phone it was aries Before i take it Keigan took my phone and put it on the speaker “Hello?” Keigan said “Hello, who are you ?

“I asked first” keigan said

Aries said I took the phone before i could say more “Jay i know something is bothering you ” i froze and smiled at keigan and keifer who were staring at me .
“Aries i will talk to you later, Byee ” i said and hang up.
“Jay Jay what is it ?” Keifer asked me
“It’s nothing keifer ” i replied

We all went and sat down on the chairs

I was sitting with serina Ma’am and keifer and keigan was sitting in the front of us .

Keigan kept making gestures at me from across the table.
At first I ignored him.Then he pointed towards Keifer.Then towards himself.Then towards Keifer again.
My eyes widened.Absolutely not.
I immediately shook my head.He pouted dramatically.
I mouthed back,
“No.”
He looked betrayed.
Then suddenly—” Kiki bro , pass me the noodles” he said keifer got shock keifer got angry and looked at keigan Meanwhile sir and ma’am were laughing.
Just then keigan stand up and stood behind me “Cookie Sister save me !!” He said I looked at keifer “It’s okay Kiki ” i said while laughing His expression changed “Stop calling me that ” keifer said” Why that’s your nickname” Serina Ma’am said.
“Who told you about this?” Keifer asked me
“Keigan told me ” i replied

“It’s okay keifer i mean kiki” i said
And then wowww
Keifer didn’t said anything and started eating the food again.
Keigan also went and started eating the food.
“Kiki bro now pass me the noodles” keigan said again Keifer laughed and handed him .
After the dinner I was about to leave and then “Cookie Sister give me kuya aries number” keigan said “Why ??
” I asked
“Because we are friends” he replied
And then i have him aries number I bid bye to them and went outside Keifer followed me outside I looked back at him” The question is still unanswered ” he said to me “What?” I asked him.
“What happened yesterday?” He asked again
My smile disappeared for a moment
Keifer’s pov –
I watched Everything
The way she was everytime hiding her pain behind her smile and when his brother asked if she was really okay or not and what happened yesterday I didn’t got the answer.
And I witnessed how keigan asked the number of her brother from jay jay .
Jay Jay bid bye to us and started to leave
I followed her .
I asked the question again.
“What happened yesterday?
” I asked
The smile on her face disappeared and she looked tensed again.
And then she replied
“Some family stuff ” she said
“Oh but that doesn’t feel like some” i said
“It’s fine keifer” she said again.
“Then why your brother said on the call something is bothering you ?” I asked her She froze again “Jay Jay ” i called her name softly She looked up” You don’t have to pretend with me okay ” i said and assured her with a smile She nodded and smiled And i know something big is bothering her and i need to find out before something more happens.
“And listen if you are in need of something or you need help just call me or message me i will come to help you .” I said “Okay keifer ” she replied “And don’t disappear like yesterday, atleast inform me ” i said” Ohh so you were worried??” She asked I froze” I mean keigan was soo much worried about you and mom too” i replied “And you ?” She asked “Yes” i replied with a smile “Good Night Kiki” she said I didn’t replied and made an annoying face” Sorry i am just kidding ” she said I laughed “It’s totally fine jay ” i replied “Good Night Kiki ” she said with a smile “Good Night Jay ” i replied “Get home safely and message me did you got hit or not??” I said while laughing She just nodded and left .
I was standing there until her shadow disappears For a moment I realised meeting her changed everything How I am relaxed when I am with her .
I smiled and went inside .
Jay Jay’s pov –
The man keifer is , he always understand what is happening with me and his words” You don’t have to pretend with me ”
He is so understanding.
I reached home and as i went inside there was no one .
So i just went upstairs in my room i changed my clothes and went to sleep.
I remembered i need to talk to Aries

“Sorry I was at watson mansion” i said
“Watson Mansion??” He asked” Yes i usually go to their house to delivery the cookies and they all treat me so well ” i replied “Oh , can you tell me in detail??” He asked “Yes, keigan whom you talked to he came to the bakery for ordering cake for his dad’s birthday.
I have already met his mom and his older brother they visited to buy the cookies.
His older brother has came to buy cookies for his mom.
And then when i reached with the cake they didn’t let me go just after delivering I had dinner and attended the party with them and now I go to their house for delivering the cookies ” i said “Oh nice family ” aries replied” You know they all planned a trip to amusement park but i couldn’t go for some Bakery reasons and keigan is demanding the compensation ” i said I lied about the bakery but aries i can’t give you tension about what is happening here.
“Oh okay , what is his older brother name ?” He asked I froze for a moment and then said” Mark Keifer Watson ” i said” Ohh keifer Watson, i have heard about him in the news report.
He is CEO of the Watson Company.
He has so much attitude i know ” aries said
“Attitude??

I was just smiling soo hard after thinking about keifer.

After that i kept my phone aside
And was trying to sleep my mind was still thinking about the tired keifer.
Even he has his own company problems but still he is there for me .
The words were replaying in my mind

I was smiling like an idiot
And then i finally slept.
Keifer’s pov –
My phone vibrated.
From Jay –
“I reached home safely and didn’t get hit.”
I laughed.
Who even says that?
A few seconds later another message appeared.
“Good Night Kiki 🤭”
I looked at the message for a few seconds.
Normally I hated that nickname.
Absolutely hated it.
But somehow…
Hearing it from her didn’t annoy me as much as it should have.Maybe because she was smiling when she typed it.
Or maybe because it was her.
I shook my head and locked my phone.
What was wrong with me?
I walked towards my room and sat on the bed.
The meetings.The reports.The problems at the company.
For the first time all day…None of them were the first thing on my mind.
Instead—
A girl with flour on her hands and cookies in her bag had somehow taken that place.
The girl who noticed I was tired.
The girl who made my favourite cookies without even knowing they were my favourite.
The girl who smiled even when she was hurting.
My eyes landed on the cookie box on my desk.Only a few cookies were left because I ate rest of them .
I picked one up and smiled.
“Long Day?”
“Eat dinner and then take rest”
Her voice replayed in my mind
Simple talks.Yet somehow…
No one had asked me that in a very long time.Everyone cared about the company.
The meetings.The deals.The CEO.
But not Keifer.Just Keifer.
I looked out of the window into the quiet night.Something was wrong.
I knew it.
And I knew she was carrying it alone.
For some reason…That bothered me.
More than it should have.
More than I wanted it to.
For the first time in the weeks , i slept with a smile on my face .
