"Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mom! You're the best!" Logan swiftly kissed her cheek, and Rowena smiled warmly.
"You're welcome, dear." Rowena smiled warmly, genuinely surprised by how affectionate her son was.
But then, Logan tilted his head with a curious look on his face. "I've been wondering, Mom."
"About what, dear?"
"What got you interested in learning swordsmanship in the first place?" Logan asked a question that had been troubling him for a while now, but the moment his mother heard that question, an image flashed through Rowena's mind, and it was about a man's body on the floor of a burning house.
Behind the corpse, a grinning silhouette of another man stood still, glaring at Rowena, and she instinctively tightened her hand into a fist before exhaling softly to calm herself down.
"It doesn't matter, dear. It's all in the past now."
"But..." Logan tried to say something but his mother immediately shifted the topic into something else entirely.
"Ah, that reminds me. Odette told me you've regained some of your memories. Is that true?" Rowena asked and Logan immediately noticed the shift in discussion, but he decided not to push any further.
"Yeah, it's true, but it's only a little, leading up to what had happened to me last night."
"I see, but you have nothing to worry about, cause you'll regain the rest little by little, dear. And if you don't, well, like I said before, we'll just make new memories instead." Rowena assured him with a smile on her face.
"Okay, Mom."
"Goodnight, my love."
"Goodnight, Mom."
Rowena tucked herself in and fell asleep immediately while Logan followed soon after, though his mind still lingered on the question he'd asked his mother a while ago, along with how she had clearly avoided answering it.
Of course, he had noticed the subtle depressed look on her face even if it had only been a second, but this made him wonder if he probably shouldn't have asked that question.
However, he had been genuinely curious when he asked her and he was still curious, but maybe he'll have to ask her another time.
Anyways, since that didn't really matter right now, Logan decided to take a look at his system screen.
He summoned his system stat once again, then he allocated his ten free attribute points himself.

Logan tried to balance out his attributes rather than rely on one being higher than the other.
Then he redirected his gaze to his summoner feature.

[To make your first summons, the host will need at least two thousand system points.]
"Hmm, so I need one thousand system points more, huh."
"Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait a while before using it then." Logan closed the screen and lay back against his pillow.
Then he began thinking about everything that had happened on his first full day in this new world.
He recalled meeting his new mother for the first time, his discussion with the beautiful half-elf, Odette, and the event that had happened in the warehouse as well.
Although, a lot had happened on his first full twenty-four hours in this world, but Logan was excited about what's to come in the future as well.
'This means that now I have to focus on trying to convince Odette to agree to train me.'
'Thinking of her, though, it would be nice to get to know her as a person as well.'
'She looks like a really sweet girl and it would be great to truly go on a date with a girl as stunning as her.'
'I guess I'll have to ask her later if she's decided on where we should have our first date together.'
'Hmm, come to think of it.'
'I've never truly been on a date with anyone before.'
'I guess. I'll have to do my research on how dates are being carried out, cause it would be nice to have the perfect first date experience for the two of us.'
Pushing those thoughts aside for now, Logan wondered if Odette would know anything about how his mother was so strong.
'Oh well, there's no point thinking about that right now.' Logan waved all those thoughts away, then he finally decided to fall asleep.
But just before he could drift off completely, a new screen suddenly popped up in front of him.
[A new set of quests has been made available for the host.]
[Would you like to take a look at them?]
"Yes."
[QUEST 1: Find out the reason behind why your mother is so strong.]
[QUEST 2: Get to know Odette better as a person.]
[QUEST 3: Convince Odette to become your sparring trainer.]
Looking at the list of quests displayed before him, Logan couldn't help but smile in amusement.
'These are literally the things I had set my mind on doing.'
Since last night, Logan had noticed a pattern in the quests he's been given so far.
And right now, he was certain of his previous assumptions that his system quests were purely based on things that were either of interest to him or were purely on things he had already set his mind on doing.
In other words, the system just turned those thoughts into quests with rewards as a little bit of incentive, urging him to get those quests done.
Realising all these and feeling satisfied, Logan finally let himself fall asleep.
