Jasper and Nicole soon reached the Snow Kingdom she made her way to her room as Jasper had important documents to look over that piled up over time due to him being away.
She hated being stuck in her room all day so she decided to ask Rowland if she could go to the library out in the town.
He suggested asking Lord Jasper when he wasn’t too busy she couldn’t help but let out a small sigh letting Rowland leave to continue his duties.
Nicole was reluctant to ask Jasper to go to the Libary but if she didn’t ask she would never know his response.
She left her room and headed to Jasper’s office as she began to walk further she started to get a bit lost.
From what she remembered she never got a proper tour of the manor, she wondered where his office would be.
As she kept walking she noticed him walking towards her in the distance she quickened her pace as she stood inches away from him.
“Lord Jasper maybe I go to the Libary for the day in the town?” He saw there was a little sparkle in her eye as she spoke to him.
“No”Japer’s voice was harsh and stern he seemed almost tired.
“What why?
You can’t expect me to stay here all day with nothing to do.”
“You’re too delicate to be going out there by yourself.
There’s something I need to discuss with you since you have the time”
She raised her eyebrows as to what he had to discuss with her “What would you like to discuss with me, Lord Jasper?”
“Let’s discuss this matter in my office follow me”
She did what she was told as she followed him to his office that was upstairs where his chambers were in the same pathway.
He opened the door letting her in as she noticed papers stacked high on top of the desk but the room was well decorated.
She sat down in the plush chair across from his desk as he pulled a chair and placed it in front of her as Jasper sat down crossing arms and legs.
Jasper looked down trying to gather his thoughts as he looked up at her and spoke “I went to the valley and I got the chief to do the blessing for me.”
Nicole smiled and intertwined her hands “Really!
How-”
He raised his hand stopping her from speaking “I wasn’t finished yet, be patient.
As I was saying when we dug up the grave Earl was no longer there.
Which means he faked his death.
It seems like someone switched out the body at the same time you left the Inn.
”
She frowns at him causing her to look down and clench her fist tightly ” So you tell me he faked his death just to not be with me all the times I cried as for nothing.
Just to be alone again….”
Jasper stood up as he reached his hand out to her.
She felt a loving embrace from him, was he trying to comfort her she thought to herself as she felt his embrace only get tighter.
Looking into his eyes once more she noticed that Lord Jasper’s eyes were pitch black.
Her doe-like eyes stared into his causing his eyes to soften.
Just when she was about to speak she him wipe away her tears with a handkerchief as he rubbed her back slightly comforting her.
He was annoyed by many things but her crying was one of them.
Jasper studied her for a moment, his gaze piercing yet gentle.
“I couldn’t ignore the sadness in your eyes,” he said simply.
“It disturbs me to see you like this.”
Nicole blinked, taken aback by his words.
Jasper, the enigmatic pureblood vampire with the traits of a black witch, was known for his cold, emotionless nature.
Yet here he was, showing a side of himself she had never expected to see.
She was nothing more than a human a blood bag for vampires.
While they lived lavishly she struggled her whole life.
“Why do you care?” she asked, her curiosity overcoming her fear.
Jasper sighed softly, a sound that was almost human in its vulnerability.
He reached out, his long, elegant fingers brushing a curly lock of hair from her face.
“You are…different, Nicole.
You have a light within you that draws me, despite my nature.
I may be a creature of darkness, but even darkness is drawn to the light.”
Nicole’s heart ached at his words.
She had always felt a strange connection to Jasper, a bond that defied logic and reason.

“I don’t want to see you sad,” he continued, his voice barely above a whisper.
“It affects me in ways I cannot fully understand.
Perhaps it is because you are my little lamb, and I do not like to see my lamb in distress.”
Tears welled up in Nicole’s eyes at the tenderness in his voice.
She had always been strong, but tonight, she allowed herself to lean on him, to take comfort in his unexpected kindness.
His embrace was both protective and possessive, a reminder of the complex nature of their relationship.
As she rested her head against his chest, she could hear the steady beat of his heart, a rhythm that was both soothing and reassuring.
He kept his feelings hidden as if it was only for her to share.
Though the corruption had taken place he wanted her all for himself.
The day Clarice came to the mansion for help he was eager to help knowing how humans can be selfish.
With the details of her struggle, he decided to help her knowing she needed it more than ever.
Jasper even sent his owl Slade to see where she stayed as he was curious if what Clarice said was true.
She was right as Nicole was in the poorest town on the mainland, almost turning into desolate land.
A knock was heard at the door as Rowland opened it seeing his master embrace Nicole as they stopped holding each other for a brief moment.
He could tell Lord Jasper was upset due to his Interruption but it was urgent.
“Excuse me, Master, Lord Charles is here to discuss important matters with you regarding the meeting you had with him”
He narrowed his eyes Rowland “Tell him to leave, I don’t have time for his games today I’m busy with something important ”
Rowland only bowed his head as he left the room closing the door behind him.
Jasper lets go of her as he sits down in the chair taking out the blood tablets.
“How long would you have to keep taking the pills, Lord Jasper”
Jasper placed the pill in the mouth taking a small sip of water to make sure it went down properly before he spoke.
He closed his eyes for a brief second as it turned back to normal once again.
“It helps with the hunger, I could have sucked you dry right now but I didn’t.
I’m not a heartless Lord as others I just have different ways of showing my affection to you.”
Nicole fiddled her hands together ” It’s nice to have someone comfort me, I felt..joy is that bad to feel such a thing?”
He laughed a little as he stood up again “Why don’t I take you somewhere nice?
Just you and me no distractions”
She smiled at him”That would be nice but what about the Libary”
“If you want to know more about Edessia I can tell you everything you need to know about it in my Libary.
Let’s go.”
Jasper grabbed her hand gently as they vanished quickly.
Which was something she was not used to at all.
She wondered where Lord Jasper was taking her, as she would be the only one to find out.
