I sprinted towards the hole and saw Aunt Agatha lying on the floor facing down.

I leaned forward, sat on the palms of my hands, and started yelling.

“Aunt Agatha, are you okay?” My voice was filled with shakiness.Full novel: Vengeful Howl; The Secret Alpha — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“She is not moving.” My hands started trembling.

Damon’s hand rested lightly on my back, a comforting presence amidst the storm.

I covered my mouth with my hands.

I shifted my gaze from Aunt Agatha to Damon’s face.

Damon’s voice dropped in a soothing whisper.

It gave me comfort at a crucial time.

“She is fine.

See, her finger is moving.” He pointed at the index finger of Aunt Agatha.

“And also, it was not the deep from where she fell and got hurt seriously.” Damaon then jumped into the hole.

Suddenly, muffled moaning touched my ears.

“Aunt Agatha.” My voice was low.

My lips carved into a smile.

Aunt Agatha turned around to lie on her back for a minute and then sat up.

“I cannot believe that my niece does care about me.” Aunt Agatha added with a heavy chuckle.

Aunt Agatha clutched Damon’s hand and pulled herself on her feet.

“And Damon, you are too slow.”

Damon’s eyebrows knit together; it painted a question mark on his forehead.

Aunt Agatha placed her hand on Damon’s cheek.

“I mean, you took a lot of time in rescuing,” I heard her say.

Damon touched his forehead and started rubbing it.

“I dropped a chair, which will help you climb up,” I said while approaching one of the chairs in the room.

I clutched the chair in my hand, dragged it to the spot where the hole was, and then gently hung it down.

Damon grabbed the chair and placed it on the ground.

I think we need something else that will help us climb up,” Damaon said.

His voice was steady.

Damon then looked around, and his gaze fell on the table.

I suddenly leaned down the hole and jumped onto the chair.

When Aunt Agatha saw me, she slapped her forehead lightly.

She stepped over, gently grabbed the back of my neck, and patted my head.

“Have you lost your mind?” She delivered her words with firmness.

“It is not a playground.

I thought you would rescue me, but now I think I will rescue both of you.” My face broke into a smile.

The genuine laughter echoed into the room.

It lit up the atmosphere.

Damon shook his head.

“What is this room?” Daman asked.

His voice was a mixture of curiosity and shock.

I raked my fingers through my hair.

I cautiously looked around.

It was a small room.

A table was in the corner of the room, and in the other corner there was a wooden closet.

I noticed that there was no door in the room.

The room was filled with thick dust.

It seemed like no one had come down here in years.

I looked at the closet and started walking towards it.

But before I reached the closet, Aunt Agatha stopped me by clutching my hand.

I glanced at Aunt Agatha’s face.

I clutched Aunt Agatha’s hand firmly and yelled.

“Look out,” I sounded urgent.

At that exact moment, I saw the crawling thing leap at us, but before it approached us, Damon extended his hand, grabbed it in the air, and tossed it onto the wall.

Aunt Agatha shot up with shock and surprise.

I drew a long breath.

“I think we should leave before we end up some creature food” Aunt Agatha said while walking over the chair.

Damon dashed towards the table, grabbed the edge of the table, and dragged it near the chair.

Later, he placed the table under the chair.

Aunt Agatha looked at Damon’s face with a plastered smile on her face.

Damon signaled for her to come up.

Aunt Agatha got on the table, then onto the chair, and finally reached the roof.

After that, I climbed up too.

Damon got on the table and the chair that was on it.

I reached out my hand, Damon grabbed it, and then he made it up to the roof.

His face was inching away from my face.

I felt the warm breath against my face.

While this happens, my gaze meets his gaze.

I held my breath; it seemed like I was breathing slowly.

I just sank into his eyes.

It seemed like our bodies were frozen.

Everything went silent.

And suddenly Aunt Agatha snapped her finger in front of our eyes.

“I think you should let go of each other’s hand.” I sensed sarcasm in her voice.

We snapped up.

Damon suddenly loosened his grip and let go of my hand.

A small smile played on my lips.

I then silently lowered my gaze while tucking my hair behind my ears.

Damon took a step back while looking around.

He jammed his hands into his pants pockets.

“I think I should leave,” Damon said while going out of the house.

I started walking behind him and halted at the door.

I was thinking that he cares about people.

I mean, since I met him, I’ve gotten a positive vibe from him.

Meanwhile, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I suddenly snapped and shifted my gaze from Damon to Aunt Agatha’s voice.

I noticed a mischievous smile appeared on Aunt Agatha’s face.

I crossed my arms over my chest.

“Come back to reality,” Aunt Agatha whispered in my ear.

Her voice dropped to an audible level.

A quick nod escaped me.

I then looked at the street and saw Damon was gone.

It was now just an empty street.

I lowered my gaze for a second and then looked at Aunt Agatha, who was sitting on the couch.

Her hand was above her head.

I walked over to the couch and took a seat next to her.

I dropped my hands on my sides.

She poked me on the shoulder. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

“So, tell me, what is going on between you and him?” She asked.

Aunt Agatha delivered her words with firmness.

My eyes shot up with a sudden jolt of surprise.

An impatient laugh appeared on my face.

“No, I just met him.” My voice was not steady.

Aunt Agatha gave her head a nod in disagreement.

The corners of Aunt Agatha’s mouth moved upwards into a smile.

“You know I saw a spark there between you and him,” Aunt Agatha said while leaning against the couch.

She crossed her legs in front of her.

I blew my cheeks.

I do not know how to explain it to her because I was frozen there.

I do not know what happened to me.

I started tapping my toe.

I briskly rubbed my hand.

My gaze was fixed on the carpet below.

I thought it was better for me to walk off from this conversation because it is getting weird.

So, I decided to go to Kristina’s house.

I rose to my feet.

“Where are you going?” Aunt Agatha asked with authority.

I balled my fist.

“Umm…I am going to apologize to Kristina about my behavior earlier,” I said while walking out of the house.

I was walking fast.

“But you said she is weird,” Aunt Agatha said with a firm tone.

I shook my head.

I crossed the road and approached the entrance door.

I proceeded upstairs, reached the porch, and knocked at the door.

A minute later, I heard the latch click, and the door swung open.

I saw Kristina emerge behind the old woman.

“Go to your room, and I will come in a minute and tuck you in your bed,” Kristina said, leaning in and kissing the old lady on her cheek.

Without saying anything, the old woman walked off.

Kristine stepped out of the house and closed the door behind her.

She led me to the swing and sat on it.

“So, tell me what you want.” Kristina asked.

Her voice was steady and firm.

I breathe through my mouth.

I sensed anger in his voice.

I know she is trying to hide it, but everything is visible on her face.

The hatred and resentment for me.

I think she has a right to be angry at me because I also treated her badly.

I hesitate before speaking.

“I am sorry.

I know when you came to my house earlier, I did not behave well, so I have come here to apologize,” I said.

My voice was low murmur.

“Also, I have come to tell you that I and my aunt discovered the hidden room in the house.”

Kristina’s eyes widened in surprise.

She stood up, but before she could say anything, we heard a loud bang.

We all exchanged looks, then turned to the door, where we saw an old lady collapse on the floor.

The color of Kristina’s face drained.

My mouth fell into a small ‘o.’ a silent gasped on astonishment.
