And most importantly…

What was the book hiding from him?

Slowly, he turned the page.

He did not expect anything to change.

After all, the first page he had read so far had only brought disappointment.

But the moment his eyes landed on the next page…

He froze.

His pupils contracted.

A new line had appeared.

A line that had not existed before ,written in golden letters.

As if the book had been waiting for this exact moment.

And the moment Ank read the first word…

His expression changed completely.

He did not expect this.

His anger surged instantly.

He even forgot the path he had chosen, the path of peace, as another goal quietly found its place on his ever-growing list..

Hello, Ank.

Consider this my gift to you.

A small token from your favorite uncle.

And before you start wondering…

Yes.

“I am the one who altered the Book of Everything.

Every seal, every restriction, every little surprise hidden within its pages…

all of it was my doing.

As for why?” A faint laugh echoed through the silence.

“Revenge.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.” “If you wish to curse someone…

then curse me.

Scream my name.

Swear vengeance upon me.” His voice remained calm, almost amused.

“It will change nothing.” “In fact…

I find it rather entertaining.” “Hahahaha…” The laughter seemed to linger on the page itself.

As if the words were alive .Watching him and mocking him.

Ank’s hands trembled.

A killing intent he had not felt in a very long time surfaced within his heart.

At that moment, he made a silent promise.

One day.

No matter how long it took.

I would kill you.

Then another thought appeared in his mind.

A single question.

If he altered the book…

Why did he make me fifteen years old?

Silence filled the room.

“That damned god…” His voice became full of hatred.

He was talking to himself.

“Always playing games.” “Always hiding behind riddles.” His eyes narrowed.

“One day…” “I will kill you with my own hand.” The moment those words left his mouth, a terrifying aura burst from his body.

The room shook violently.

The walls began to crack.

The air itself became heavy.

For a brief moment, it felt as if the Waestor of the universe was going to awaken.

But that moment lasted less than a second.

Crack.

Pain exploded throughout Ank’s body.

His weakened body could not withstand even a fraction of the Waestor’s presence.

The aura collapsed instantly.

His vision blurred.

Darkness swallowed everything.

And before he lost consciousness…

A single thought echoed through his mind.

The game had already begun.

And somehow… He felt as if he was already losing.

And he lost consciousness.

The old man came in the evening.

The moment he entered the room, he saw Ank lying on the floor.

He quickly lifted him and placed him on the bed.

Then he let him sleep.

He wanted to wake him up and ask questions.

But seeing Ank’s condition…

He had no choice but to abandon those thoughts.

“Ank…” “Once you wake up, you’re going to answer a lot of my questions.” “So rest.” “Because today, you won’t be able to.” Morning came.

Ank awakened once again.

His body had almost recovered.

The first thing he did after waking up was check the book.

The book remained the same.

He had not been dreaming.

After confirming that, he left the room.

The first person he met was Maya.

She was preparing breakfast.

Then he saw Arthur sitting on the sofa.

“Ank, you’re awake.” “Yes.” Ank replied quietly.

“Then sit down.” “We have a lot to discuss.” “Yes.” Ank sat down, keeping his gaze lowered.

Arthur watched him for a few moments before asking, “Can you remember your Blessing?” A brief silence followed.

Then Ank answered.

“No.” The room froze.

“What?!” Maya’s voice echoed through the house.

She immediately stood up from her seat.

The conversation she had overheard yesterday resurfaced in her mind.

Her eyes widened.

“Ank!” “You have to be joking.” “You don’t remember your Blessing?” “Grandpa…” “How is that even possible?” She paused for a moment.

Then shook her head.

“No.” “Let me correct myself.” “You forgot it, right?” “That’s what happened, right, Ank?” A strange expression appeared on her face.

As if she was desperately hoping to hear a different answer.

But Ank shattered that hope immediately.

“No.” Ank’s voice was calm.

“I have no Blessing.” Silence.

For a brief moment, nobody spoke.

Maya simply stared at him.

Her mind was still struggling to process what she had just heard.

“What…?” The word escaped her lips.

A person without a Blessing?

Such a thing should not exist.

“Maya.” Arthur’s voice became firm.

The atmosphere instantly changed.

“Do not ask Ank any more questions right now.” “But Grandpa, I…” “No.” Arthur cut her off.

“You’re pressuring him.” Maya bit her lip.

She finally noticed something strange about Ank’s expression.

There was no panic, no confusion, and not even the slightest trace of uncertainty on his face.

As if he had already accepted something that neither she nor Arthur could understand.

Arthur slowly turned toward him.

“First, eat breakfast.” His voice softened slightly.

“Then we’ll continue this conversation.” Ank nodded.

“Alright.” Yet deep inside, his thoughts were elsewhere.

On the book.

On the sealed Blessings.

And on the truth he could never reveal.

Because some secrets…

Were far too dangerous to be spoken aloud.

He did not like hiding the truth from them.

But he had no other choice.

One thing was clear to him.

There were countless beings who wanted revenge against him.

He had made too many enemies.

Many of whom he could not even remember anymore.

And dragging innocent people into one of his messes…

He did not like that idea.

Breakfast passed quickly.

No one spoke much.

After breakfast, Maya left the house for training.

Meanwhile, Ank sat on a chair while Arthur remained seated on the sofa.

Arthur looked at him.

“So, Ank.” “You still cannot remember your Blessing?” Ank hesitated again.

“No.” Arthur sighed.

“Then how did you move forward all these years?” “I don’t know.” Ank wanted to tell him the truth.

But in the end, he could not gather the courage.

Arthur remained silent for a moment.

Then he spoke.

“Then let me tell you how a Blessing is obtained.” “In this world, there are only four known ways to obtain a Blessing.” “The first is through birth.” “Every living being is born with at least one Blessing.” “For most people, that is where their journey begins.” “The fortunate are born with two Blessings.” “While those favored by destiny may awaken three.” “These Blessings possess the highest compatibility with their owners, having accompanied them since the moment their souls entered the world.” “The second method is inheritance.” “A Blessing holder may willingly divide their Blessing and pass a portion of it to another person.” “However, power is never gained without sacrifice.” “The original owner permanently loses half of their Blessing’s strength.” “While the recipient receives only half of its power.” “Both must retrain and rebuild what was lost.” “Because of this, inheritance is often seen as the greatest act of trust a person can offer.” “The third method is through dungeons and labyrinths.” “These ancient places are filled with danger, mystery, and forgotten powers.” “Those who conquer them are sometimes rewarded with a Blessing.” “Yet no one can predict what they will receive.” “It may be a common Blessing.” “A rare Blessing.” “A Divine Blessing.” “A mutated Blessing.” “A cursed Blessing.” “Or something never before recorded in history.” “Every expedition is a gamble between fortune and disaster.” Ank knew almost nothing about Blessings.

His understanding of them came entirely from book of everything and from what Arthur had told him.

When he was the Waestor, power came in countless forms.

Every world had its own rules.

Every civilization walked a different path.

So he listened silently, trying to understand this unfamiliar system.

But his thoughts were interrupted when he heard the fourth method.

“The fourth method is known as Divine Bestowal.” “A god may personally grant a Blessing to a mortal.” “Unlike all other methods, this immediately elevates the recipient to the level of a God Blessing holder.” “Such individuals gain perfect compatibility and direct access to divine power.” “However, gods are not generous beings.” “To receive a Divine Bestowal, one must first earn a god’s attention and approval through their own actions, achievements, or worthiness.” “Among the countless mortals who walk in the world, most will never encounter a god.” “And among those who do, only a handful will ever be acknowledged.” “Because in the eyes of the divine…” “Power is not given.” “It is earned.” Ank listened silently.

He understood that the first and fourth methods were meaningless to him.

There was no chance the gods would grant him a Blessing.

The gods were his greatest enemies.

He could never trust them.

Then suddenly…

A flash of memory surfaced in his mind.

A question appeared.

Why did he hate the gods so much?

And why did the gods hate him just as much?

**Author’s Note** A small note about Blessings.

This chapter introduces the methods of obtaining a Blessing.

Also, Ank saying “I have no Blessing” does not mean he was originally born without one.

As shown in his status, his Blessings are currently sealed, but Ank cannot reveal that truth to Arthur or Maya without exposing his identity and dragging them into the countless problems connected to his past.

And yes, the question at the end is important, Why does Ank hate the gods so much, and why do the gods hate him just as deeply?

The answer is not as simple as war or conquest.

Thank you for reading Waestor: The First Emperor of the Universe.
