6 Little Girl, Let’s Get a Marriage Certificate

Si Zhanhan narrowed his eyes. “Five million plus a villa—acceptable. First, sign the document. The five million will be transferred directly to your card, and the villa property will be prepared and delivered to you tomorrow.”

Mu Yun took out an agreement and placed it on the table.Full novel: Wah! After Getting Pregnant, the Rich Old Man Lulls Me to Sleep Every Night — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ling’s Mother exclaimed, “What! A severance agreement? Ruan Ruan is my most beloved daughter. How could you ask me to sign something like this?”

Ling Qing Ruan stared wide-eyed in shock. What did Si Zhanhan mean? Why was he making her mother sign this?

Si Zhanhan gently ruffled the girl’s hair with his large hand. “Don’t worry. You’ll be with me from now on.”

He couldn’t rest easy leaving the little girl in this household. What if they sold her off someday? After all, she was now his woman.

“Will you sign or not? The choice is yours. If you sign, the items will be delivered to you immediately,” Si Zhanhan’s tone carried a hint of threat.

Ling’s Mother replied, “I’ll sign.”

What did it matter if she signed? Ling Qing Ruan was soft-hearted. With just one word from her, the girl would come running back. Ling Qing Ruan would never escape her control. Now that she had married this man, she would only bring more money home—what was there to lose?

Ling’s Mother directly signed her name and also brought out the household register. “Xiao Han, you’re someone more worthy of entrusting a lifetime to. You’ll definitely treat our Ruan Ruan well.”

Si Zhanhan took the household register and led Ling Qing Ruan out of the living room. Ling Qing Ruan gazed reluctantly at her mother.

Ling Qing Shuang immediately chased after them. “Ruan Ruan, your sister can’t bear to part with you. How about I come along? That way, I can look after you.”

“Sorry, our place is very small—it can only accommodate two people.”

Si Zhanhan delivered this cold statement while wrapping his large arm around Ling Qing Ruan’s slender waist as they left.

Watching their retreating figures, Ling Qing Shuang stamped her foot in anger. Ling Qing Ruan was so lucky to encounter such a man! Why couldn’t she meet someone like him? After all these years of matchmaking, she still hadn’t found anyone.

Ling Hua said, “Mom, five million—a full five million! I don’t have to work anymore. And you even got me a villa. Mom, you really are the best to me. Ling Qing Ruan really is useful.”

“Of course. She has such a pretty face.”

“Mom, why is Ling Qing Ruan so beautiful? No one in our family is that good-looking. She doesn’t really resemble our family.”

Ling Hua muttered quietly, then received a slap on the back of his head.

Ling’s Mother scolded angrily, “What nonsense are you spouting? Once we receive the villa property deed, we’ll move into the villa.”

“Great, Mom. You always think things through.”

Ling Hua happily dreamed of living in the villa and being a young master.

“Little girl, you’re unhappy. What good would staying here do? You’d just suffer their bullying every day.”

“This is where I’ve lived for almost twenty years. I can’t bear to leave it.”

Ling Qing Ruan’s teary eyes looked out the car window at the house—a very ordinary two-story building.

“Then what about them? Why didn’t they come to see you off?”

Ling Qing Ruan shook her head. “I don’t know. I don’t know why Mom doesn’t like me, why Dad doesn’t like me, why my brother and sister don’t like me. Maybe it’s because I’m not good enough, or because I’m too stupid.”

Si Zhanhan looked at the pitiful girl before him, feeling a pang of heartache. It was clearly those people’s fault, yet she blamed everything on herself.

“I like having you with me from now on.”

Ling Qing Ruan’s face finally broke into a smile. Though she knew the man was deliberately sweet-talking her, she was still happy—someone finally liked her.

“Si Zhanhan, you’re the first person who ever said they liked me.”

Ling Qing Ruan tilted her head, smiling sweetly with two little dimples appearing on her cheeks.

Si Zhanhan gently pinched the girl’s soft cheek. “Smile more often. You look so beautiful when you smile. It’d be even better if you put on some weight.”

If she gained some weight, she’d be more comfortable to hold.

Ling Qing Ruan blushed at the praise.

The car stopped at the entrance of the civil affairs bureau.

“Little one, let’s go get our marriage certificate.”

Ling Qing Ruan remained seated in the car, unwilling to get out, silently fidgeting with her fingers.

Mu Yun frowned. What was wrong with this woman? Their Second Master had come to register their marriage with her, yet she seemed reluctant—something countless women dreamed of!

“I don’t want to get married so young…”

Ling Qing Ruan hung her head, both hands quietly clutching her clothes.

Si Zhanhan thought Ling Qing Ruan didn’t like him, found him too old, and didn’t want to register their marriage. He didn’t push her further.

After all, he was twenty-eight and had experienced much in life, while she was only eighteen—still a blank sheet of paper.

“Alright, no certificate for now. Let’s take our time to build our relationship, okay?”

Ling Qing Ruan lifted her gaze, staring dazedly at the man’s handsome face, and unconsciously nodded.

He was really so handsome—she really liked his face.

Though he was a bit older, she could overlook it given how good-looking he was.

And so, Ling Qing Ruan moved into Platinum Manor.

Si Zhanhan prepared the best room for Ling Qing Ruan, the finest clothes and jewelry, the highest quality cosmetics—everything she used was of the best quality.

This was Si Zhanhan’s first time interacting with a woman—no, more accurately, a girl. Though she was delicate, fragile, and prone to tears, he was ultimately the one who had wronged the young lady.

After spending a few days together, Si Zhanhan found this young girl quite agreeable—she didn’t make noise or fuss, was well-behaved and gentle. Keeping her around didn’t seem to inconvenience him in any way.

“Si Zhanhan.”

A soft voice came from the bathroom. Though it was quiet, Si Zhanhan still heard it.

He set down the book in his hand and walked to the bathroom door. Through the frosted glass, he could vaguely make out the girl’s silhouette inside. His throat moved slightly as he asked in a low voice, “Ruan Ruan, what’s wrong?”

“I forgot to bring my pajamas. Could you get them for me? And… my underwear too… they’re in the closet in my room.”

Ling Qing Ruan’s face flushed red as she spoke. This was so embarrassing—she had never been this embarrassed in her entire life.

Si Zhanhan cleared his throat softly. “Pajamas? I’ll get them for you.”

Si Zhanhan walked to the girl’s room. The walls were a soft pink—he had specifically ordered it decorated as a princess room, having heard that girls liked this style.

He took the clothes from the closet. The small garments even had little bunny tails attached, making Si Zhanhan chuckle.

Quite… cute.

“Ruan Ruan, I’ve put your clothes by the door.”

“Okay, thank you.”

Si Zhanhan withdrew his gaze and returned to the sofa to continue reading. This time, however, Ling Qing Ruan’s image kept surfacing in his mind, along with fragmented memories from that night…
