In a large conference hall, many people had gathered, all there to witness a change that would go down in the history of technology.

The host said in a calm voice to the silent audience, “Everyone, let’s welcome Professor Maxwell.”

The audience burst into applause.Full novel: Wait, I’m only an F-class guide? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After the professor stepped onto the stage and walked to the center, the crowd gradually stopped clapping.

“Good day, everyone.

I am Maxwell.

As we all know, we are all here to witness a moment that would forever change the history of the world’s tec—”

Before the audience could react, a bloody hole appeared in the man’s forehead, and he dropped dead on the stage.

Because it was so unexpected, the entire hall fell silent for a second before screams echoed through the room.

Meanwhile, the person who had caused the commotion clicked on her earpiece.

“Target eliminated.”

She then packed away her guns and left the place where she had been positioned.

She went straight to the bathroom at the side of the hall.

A while later, an ordinary-looking student walked out of the bathroom and headed outside, mingling with the panicked crowd.

After leaving the building, a girl dressed as a loli, with two pigtails and chewing gum, came up beside her.

“Well done, Red Rose.

I can finally stop dressing like this.”

Seeing that the other girl remained silent, she asked, “Is something wrong?”

“I want to speak to the higher-ups.

I want to be free from the organization.

What about you?” Red Rose asked, staring at Oleander, her sworn sister.

They had trained together, gone on several missions together, and even fought alongside each other countless times.

Despite everything they had been through, they still loved each other like sisters.

“Alright, let’s do it.”

After that, Red Rose went to the small pond at the opposite end of the school.

As she stared at the fish swimming freely in the water, she felt envious.

Despite being the top agent of the Blackthorn Organization, she had always felt incomplete.

She had therefore decided to speak to the organization.

It was high time she retired.

Surprisingly, the organization agreed to grant her and her sworn sister their freedom if they could complete the organization’s top mission, whose danger level was rated S+.

The operation was every bit as dangerous as its rating suggested.

After days of preparation and a dangerous mission that nearly cost them their lives, they finally succeeded.

However, neither of them knew that their freedom had never truly been part of the organization’s plan.

They did not have to wait long before the boat from the organization arrived.

Resting her arms on the railing at the edge of the boat, Red Rose smiled brightly as she stared at the sea.

She could not explain why she had always loved the ocean.

It always made her feel at ease, and now that she was finally free from the organization, she felt completely at peace.

“Rosy, are you really this happy about your freedom?”

“Yes, Oleander.

I can’t wait to leave.

I’ve already made plans.

We’ll go shopping, and then, you know I love the beach, so we’ll spend the entire summer there.

Mountain climbing, too…”

The more Red Rose spoke, the wider the smile on her face became.

Happiness radiated from her expression.

Because she was with someone she trusted, she was completely unguarded.

She only felt her danger instinct flare up when it was already too late to avoid it.

Pain followed immediately.

Red Rose could not tell which hurt more, her belly or her heart.

A knife had been plunged deep into her abdomen.

She grabbed the hand holding the knife and raised her head, asking in a choked voice, “Why?”

If everyone in this world were to betray her, the last person she would ever expect to betray her was Oleander.

Their bond was stronger than that of blood-related siblings after years of fighting side by side and facing death together.

“I… I am pregnant with Liam’s child.

The organization kidnapped him and used him to threaten me into killing you.

The higher-ups said the only freedom they could give us was through death.”

Red Rose began to laugh after hearing this.

“Ha ha ha ha…”

As she laughed, she began to feel weak and started falling backward.

Seeing this, Oleander panicked and quickly caught her, resting Red Rose’s head on her lap as she sat on the boat floor with her back against the railing.

“You’ll be alright.

I didn’t stab you anywhere fatal.

You will fake your death, leave the life you wanted, and be happy like a normal person in her twenties should.”

As she said this, Red Rose felt a metallic taste rise from her throat into her mouth before blood slid down the corner of her lips.

This made Oleander panic further.

“What is happening?

Why?

I swear I didn’t do anything to the knife.”

Red Rose, her teeth stained with blood, stared at her.

“We were double-crossed.

The tear gas we used to escape must have had pollen inside it.”

“Pollen?

The deadly poison the organization made?” Oleander asked in disbelief.

“I… I thought they declared the ingredients were lost?”

Oleander also began to feel weakness spreading through her body.

The moment she heard Red Rose mention pollen, she understood what was happening.

The symptoms were unmistakable.

The organization had never intended to let either of them live.

Despite this, she continued holding Red Rose, tears streaming down her face.

“I’m sorry for being stupid and naive enough to think we could survive this without me telling you.”

She gently stroked Red Rose’s silky hair.

“I thought I could save us both, but I failed.”

Blood was already flowing from the corner of her mouth as she spoke.

“Puh!”

Red Rose spat out more blood.

Seeing this, Oleander held her face.

“Rosy!

Rosy!

Please stay with me.”

By now, Red Rose could barely move.

She raised her hands to her hair and removed the hairpin.

Then she held her sister’s hand and pressed it against the remote hidden inside the hairpin.

“Since we’re definitely going to die today, why don’t we take them with us?”

Red Rose did not need to explain further before Oleander understood what she meant.

She nodded.

Then they both pressed the red button on the hairpin.

At the same time, explosions erupted in many places around the world, throwing people into a state of panic.

During their years as top agents, they had been responsible for countless missions across different locations.

They had secretly planted explosives in several of the organization’s important facilities, knowing that they might one day need an escape plan.

Now, with the organization having decided to kill them, there was no reason to leave those explosives unused.

Lying on Oleander’s lap as she rested against the boat’s railing, Red Rose stared at the blue sky while the boat sailed smoothly across the water.

Then she said melancholically, “Sister, I think my freedom is finally coming.

I’m so sorry that my niece or nephew won’t be born into this world.”

A single tear fell from the corner of her eye.

Her breathing gradually weakened until it finally stopped.

Red Rose was dead, her eyes forever open.

Oleander’s poison was already catching up with her.

Blood flowed from the corner of her mouth, and her stomach had begun to hurt terribly.

She knew she did not have much time left.

With trembling hands, she gently closed Red Rose’s eyes.

Then she placed a kiss on her forehead.

After that, she lay beside her, a peaceful expression settling on her face as she prepared to rest forever alongside her sworn sister.

Trying something new.

Please support yours truly.
