“Timmy, this way.
Let’s talk about the requirements for the security net you need to reinforce.”
Sean Kane pulled Timmy to the right.
With his left hand, he pulled his sister to his side, effectively blocking Timmy’s line of sight toward Ginny Jarvis.
“Let me tell you, it’s mainly the warehouse’s security net,” Sean Kane said, throwing an arm around Timmy’s shoulders.
“We need to create the illusion that these warehouses are completely empty.
Your dorm will be temporarily set up in the warehouse, and the day after tomorrow, we’ll find a new place…” He deliberately tilted his head, determined not to let Timmy catch a glimpse of his sister.
Timmy kept trying to crane his neck past Sean Kane to look at Ginny Jarvis, but his five-foot-nine frame was no match for Sean Kane’s six-foot-one stature.
No matter how hard he tried, all he could see was Sean Kane.
When they reached the parking lot, Sean Kane dragged Timmy straight into the back seat.
“Jarvis, you drive.
We’ll continue our discussion.”
Seeing her brother acting so overprotective, Ginny Jarvis couldn’t help but find it amusing.
She took the keys and slid into the driver’s seat.
Timmy wanted nothing more than to sew Sean Kane’s mouth shut.
It was bad enough that he couldn’t talk to his goddess, but he wasn’t even allowed to look at her.
Most importantly, who wanted to keep discussing this nonsense with him?
Such a low-level security net could be finished in a single morning!
Sean Kane and his sister had hired Timmy to build an internal inventory system for the warehouse.
After installing the security net, they needed a fake system to display to anyone trying to hack in.
After all, Timmy wasn’t the only hacker out there.
Ginny Jarvis dropped Timmy off at the warehouse and left, leaving only Sean Kane and Timmy behind.
Sean Kane knew a little about the work, even if he wasn’t an expert.
Plus, since it was already one in the morning, Ginny Jarvis was thoroughly exhausted.
On the morning of the tenth, Sean Kane woke up and immediately called Xander Kane.
“Uncle Xander, tomorrow marks a hundred days since my parents passed.
Let’s head over to the old family estate today.
Also, we want to give the estate to you.”
Whatever Xander Kane said on the other end of the line made a look of utter contempt flash across Sean Kane’s face, though his tone remained polite.
“It’s fine, we’re all family.
You should invite Auntie and her family over tonight as well, so it’s easier for all of us to head to the cemetery together tomorrow morning.
Alright, goodbye, Uncle Xander.”
After hanging up, Sean Kane called the butler at the old estate to give the staff two days off.
Then, he and his sister set out to pick up the pre-cooked meals they had ordered.
For safety reasons, no one besides them and Timmy knew about the warehouse and cold storage they had rented, as they personally transported everything themselves.
Once they finished organizing all the supplies and locked the warehouse doors, the siblings brought Timmy along to find the future Ability experts who were currently eating at a hotel.
When they arrived, the group had just finished their meal and was chatting.
Thanks to the presence of the Sinclair family father and daughter, Mason Ryder was clearly less nervous and anxious than before.
Since David Sinclair used to be a teacher and Mason Ryder was an excellent student, the two had endless topics to discuss.
Clark Chandler was the first to spot Ginny Jarvis walking in.
Yesterday, he had finally remembered who she was.
The Kane family parents used to live in the residential community where Clark Chandler worked as a security guard, so he knew about their fatal plane crash.
He had even seen Ginny Jarvis collapse to the ground in tears back then and had gone over to offer her some tissues, though it was obvious she didn’t remember him.
Therefore, the moment he saw her enter, he quickly stood up and asked, “Miss Kane, you’re here.
Do you have any instructions for us?”
Ginny Jarvis waved her hand dismissively.
I just wanted to let everyone know that we booked a villa so you all can go have some fun.
Our itinerary wraps up tomorrow evening.”
“Sounds great!
Haha, Sinclair, your daughter is really doing well for herself now, getting to treat you to a villa stay!” Cecilia Sinclair patted David Sinclair on the shoulder, speaking with evident pride.
David Sinclair smiled broadly.
“Miss, sorry for the trouble, and thank you for your hospitality.
But a villa can’t be cheap, right?
Maybe we should just stick to the hotel?”
Having dedicated his entire life to teaching, David Sinclair felt he had already taken far too much advantage of this trip.
Moving into a villa seemed like pushing his luck.
For the past two days, the tour guide had accompanied them everywhere.
Whenever they showed interest in something but were too frugal to buy it, the guide would have it delivered directly to their rooms that evening.
This made David Sinclair feel incredibly embarrassed.
Clark Chandler hadn’t thought about it that deeply before and had just been enjoying himself.
But after hearing David Sinclair’s words, he suddenly felt bad as well and politely declined Ginny Jarvis’s offer.
Mason Ryder also quickly chimed in to say it wasn’t necessary.
“But I’ve already booked it and paid the advance,” Ginny Jarvis explained.
“These kinds of reservations are non-refundable.”
Hearing this, Clark Chandler hurriedly said, “We’ll go!
Mr.
Sinclair, let’s go.
At worst, we can just bring Miss Kane some local specialties later on.
Even though she doesn’t lack anything, it’s the thought that counts!
We just hope you won’t mind, Miss Kane.
We’re country folks, hehe, so we only have rustic goods.”
Ginny Jarvis smiled.
She thought to herself that there would be plenty of times she’d need them in the future; she just hoped they wouldn’t betray her.
Outwardly, she said, “It’s fine, I don’t mind at all.
I actually love eating free-range chickens and ducks.
The villa I booked has all that, so we can have a farmhouse feast tomorrow.”
Relieved, the group finally smiled and went upstairs to gather their luggage and the items they had bought over the past few days.
Sean Kane and Timmy waited in the car instead of going up.
They were driving a seven-seater off-road vehicle that had just been delivered last week.
It was heavily modified, and the siblings planned to make it their primary mode of transportation when the apocalypse began.
Ginny Jarvis decided to leave the vehicles she had stored in her interdimensional space untouched for now.
Once everyone came out and got into the car, Ginny Jarvis introduced them to one another.
With Timmy and Cecilia Sinclair in the vehicle, the atmosphere was incredibly lively.
It helped dispel a lot of the tension the siblings felt about the apocalypse arriving tonight.
When the car pulled into the villa, everyone stared at the building in sheer amazement.
Timmy kept glancing back and forth between the siblings.
If he wasn’t mistaken, the security here was tighter than a bank’s.
The exterior walls were over thirteen feet tall—clearly not standard for a residential property.
There was even an electric grid running along the top.
What exactly was this place?
Whatever it was, it certainly wasn’t an ordinary rental villa.
He decided to wait and see.
“Go on up and pick your rooms,” Ginny Jarvis said.
“The second floor is all yours.
The third and fourth floors belong to my brother and me.
This is actually our home.
I only told you it was a rental because I was afraid you’d feel too awkward to come.
I hope you don’t mind.”
Everyone quickly waved their hands in reassurance, except for Timmy, who wore an expression of sudden realization.
He knew it!
What kind of rental villa would be renovated this meticulously?
After everyone had chosen a room, Ginny Jarvis said, “Get some rest.
My brother and I have some company business to take care of.
See you tomorrow.”
“Okay, Miss Kane, bye!
Bye, President…
Kane,” Cecilia Sinclair said.
Cecilia Sinclair’s formal address of “President Kane” made Sean Kane freeze for a second, while Ginny Jarvis uncharitably nudged her brother with her elbow.
Sean Kane shot Ginny Jarvis a sidelong glance before turning to the group.
“Bye.”
As the group exchanged goodbyes, Ginny Jarvis turned to Timmy.
“Tim…
uh…
Mr.
Thorne, come here for a second.”
Hearing “Mr.
Thorne” made Timmy’s face turn completely red.
It wasn’t out of shyness, but sheer frustration.
Did she think he was just some kid?
He was twenty years old!
No matter how reluctant he felt, he obediently walked over.
“What is it, The Little Fairy Kane?”
The nickname gave Ginny Jarvis goosebumps all over.
She quickly said, “Ginny Jarvis.
Just call me Ginny Jarvis.” Then, looking at Timmy seriously, she added, “Don’t go to sleep before one o’clock tonight.
Keep a close eye on Mr.
Sinclair’s room.
If you notice anything unusual, call me immediately.
I have a bad feeling about this.”
“Understood!
I guarantee the mission will be accomplished.” After speaking, Timmy even offered Ginny Jarvis a salute.
“Alright, Mr.
Thorne.
Jarvis and I are leaving now.
Stay safe.”
“Will do.
Bye, Kane.”
