Taking advantage of a gap when the cultists walked far away, Lynn crawled out of the crevice.Full novel: Warhammer: I Draw Traits in Warhammer, and the Emperor Stood Up? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Isn’t it just running away?

He now has an HP-lock cheat turned on; he can do this!!!

Yanking the flashlight out.

Very bright.

The quality is genuinely good.

He squatted at the cave entrance and listened; there was no sound on the left, and no sound on the right, so the cultists should have gone far away.

Ahead was a diverging path, and behind him was the way he came.

“System Bro, are you there?” [Yeah.] “Which way do you think I should go?” [I don’t have a map.] “Aren’t you a system?” [I am an entry gacha system, not a navigation system.

If you want navigation, go find Gagle maps.] “Then find me a Gagle map.” [Do you want me to find you a computer screen?] He was being unreasonable.

Lynn took a deep breath, knowing System Bro wouldn’t help, and decided to rely on his intuition.

He chose the left path, hunched over, pointing the flashlight lower to illuminate the ground, trying not to make a sound.

After walking for about five minutes, he heard a sound.

Whoosh, the sound of flowing water.

Lynn’s eyes lit up; it might be an underground river.

Underground rivers usually lead outside; where there is water flow, there is an exit.

He quickened his pace, walking toward the direction of the sound.

Then he turned a corner and saw light.

——It was that kind of dark red light that made his scalp tingle.

He ran face-to-face into a Chaos cultist.

That cultist wore a tattered robe, and the face beneath the hood was so thin it looked like he had never eaten a full meal, as if something was burning out from inside his eyes, making them emit a red glow.

The two stared at each other for a second.

“Ahhhhhh——!!!” Lynn turned and ran.

Behind him, the cultist let out a roar: “He’s here——!

Found him——!” Then came the footsteps of several people.

Lynn ran even faster than before.

He now had [Thirty Days], so he wouldn’t die, but he would still feel pain.

And to be honest, being chased by a group of cultists, even if he wouldn’t die, was still scary.

These cultists had no humanity.

“System Bro, save me!!!!” [You’re exploiting a bug.

Aren’t you alive right now?] “I mean, is there any way to make them stop chasing me!!!” [You can stop and negotiate with them.] “Are you serious?!” [Not Sirius, wrong franchise—run.] Lynn ran into a relatively wide passage; inside the passage appeared a slippery, moss-like substance.

The flashlight’s beam shone over it, revealing a layer of dark green, glowing slime mold covering the ground.

“What is this?!” he shouted while running and jumping to avoid the slime.

The system said, [Might be traces of Nurgle.] “Nurgle?!

There are Nurgle followers here too?!” [It is uncertain, but if you step on it, you might get some skin diseases.] “What do you mean some skin diseases?!” [The kind of skin disease that makes mushrooms grow out of your skin.] Ahhhhhhh—— Lynn ran even faster.

The voices of the cultists behind him got closer and closer.

One of them shouted something; Lynn didn’t catch it, but immediately after, a beam of red light grazed past his ear and hit the stone wall beside him, exploding into a shower of sparks.

He was startled.

What was that?!

Then the second beam of red light came.

This time, it hit him on the shoulder.

It hurts so fking much!!!!

It was like someone had pressed a red-hot branding iron onto his skin, resulting in a piercing pain.

Lynn almost couldn’t hold back a tragic scream; his footsteps faltered, and he nearly fell.

He looked down at his shoulder.

His clothes had a hole burned through them, and the skin underneath was a patch of red.

But that patch of red was fading at a visible rate, as if an invisible angel’s hand had rubbed the wound for him.

Three seconds later, it didn’t hurt anymore, and his skin returned to normal.

So it was the System Angel: [Detected that the host is injured; HP lock mechanism has been triggered.

High-speed recovery initiated; estimated recovery time: 3 seconds.] “…Awesome!!!” Lynn yelled as he ran, touching his shoulder.

…

Using [Thirty Days] to escape and find an exit amidst the encirclement of Chaos cultists was his only option, but he could only take hits and couldn’t counter-kill.

Getting injured once was very painful, but he would rapidly recover; enduring it a bit was no big deal.

The Chaos cultists couldn’t kill him no matter what and were helpless against him, so they assumed he was a very special Psyker and wanted to capture him alive to sacrifice to the Blood God.

“Capture him alive!

Capture him alive and offer him to the Blood God!

The Blood God will be pleased!” Listening to the shouts behind him, Lynn was on the verge of tears.

Sure enough, it’s the Blood God cult, the one belonging to Khorne.

Chopping off heads, skulls for the skull throne, blood for the blood god, the classic move.

“I don’t want to be sacrificed ahhhhh——!” [Then run faster.] Lynn ran even faster.

The cultists behind him also seemed pumped full of adrenaline, chasing even more fiercely.

“He can’t run fast!

Psykers mostly have weak bodies!” “Chase!

He definitely has companions!” “Capture him alive!

Hail the Blood God!” He didn’t have any companions!!!

Lynn gritted his teeth, turning into another diverging path.

He didn’t know where he was running, up or down, left or right; it didn’t matter at all anymore; as long as there was a path, he ran.

As long as he wasn’t caught, they couldn’t do anything to him.

Another beam of red light flew from behind him.

This time, it hit him on the back.

Lynn’s whole body pitched forward, his hands catching himself on the ground.

It was that red-hot branding iron pain again, spreading from his back to his shoulders, then to his neck.

He bared his teeth, tears almost flying out, but he held them back.

It hurts so much——!

[High-speed recovery initiated.

Estimated recovery time: 3 seconds.] Lynn gritted his teeth, scrambled up, and continued running.

He felt like a character in a game with his HP bar locked; every time he was hit, he’d lose HP but immediately heal back to full, and his only operation was holding down the “W” key to run forward, not daring to look back, and not daring to stop.

The cultists behind him went crazy.

“He recovered again!” “What the hell is he?!” “He is not an ordinary Psyker!

He has some kind of protection on him!” “The Blood God will like him!

Capture him alive!

The Blood God will grant us greater power!” Lynn cursed in his heart as he ran.

Their Blood God liked chopping heads, but he didn’t want his head chopped off.

If you have the guts, go chop off a Primarch’s head!

Motherf*ckers, you are a bunch of bastards, only knowing how to bully mortals!

What Blood God followers, spit!!!

“System Bro, my stamina is almost depleted; can you give me some useful advice——!!!” [You currently only have a flashlight and Thirty Days.

A flashlight can’t speed you up, and Thirty Days can’t teleport you.

What advice do you want me to give you?] “Can’t you just say something nice to comfort me?!” [Keep it up; you can do it.] “…You better just stop talking; you sound like Siri reading a script!!!” Forget it; he would save his own life himself.

Lynn’s heartbeat felt like it was going to explode; he took another sharp turn and ducked into another side passage.

Underfoot was nothing but gravel, and every step slipped; he scrambled outward using both his hands and feet.

The cultists behind him were still chasing.

“He went up!

Don’t let him escape!” “The Blood God is watching us!” Exiting this passage, there were three exits ahead.

Left, right, and middle.

He casually picked one and ran into it.

The cultists behind him also chased in, but they were laughing.

“He entered a dead end!

The end of this passage is sealed!” “Block him!

He can’t run away!” Lynn’s heart skipped a beat.

“System Bro!!!” [What they said is true.] “Why didn’t you say so earlier?!” [You ran in here yourself.] “…Then what do I do now?” [There are two choices.

One, turn back and fight them.

Two, walk to the end and wait for them to catch you.] “What kind of choices are these?!” [That’s just how Warhammer 40k is.

There are no good choices; there are only less crappy ones.] Lynn gritted his teeth and continued walking forward.

When he reached the end, he saw a stone wall.

There really was no path left.

Ahhhhhh!!!!

Lynn turned his head; the cultists behind him surrounded him.

One by one, their faces were full of excited flushes.

They held all kinds of weird weapons in their hands: rusty knives, walking sticks made of bone, and that red-glowing thing that looked like some kind of psychic focus.

The leading cultist with glowing red eyes looked at Lynn, giving Lynn goosebumps from his neck all the way down to his heels.

The voice he spoke with was so hoarse it sounded like sandpaper grinding in a throat: “You can’t escape.

Obediently kneel down, and offer yourself to the great Blood God.” Lynn took a step back, his back pressing against the stone wall.

“System Bro, you’re sure Thirty Days really works, right?” [Correct.] “Severed arms and legs will grow back too?” [Yes.

But it will hurt a lot.] “How much will it hurt?” [It will hurt more than any pain you can imagine right now.] Lynn took a deep breath.

Alright then.

He tightened his grip on the flashlight.

Then, he did the bravest thing in his life.

He didn’t run and didn’t hide, but instead faced those cultists, raising the flashlight like he was holding a sword.

“Come on,” his voice was trembling, but he spoke every word clearly.

“Who’s afraid of who.” Those cultists froze for a moment.

Then they lunged forward, grabbing at Lynn.

Lynn crashed back into them like a wild bull, fleeing frantically, tanking the injuries, and dodging as he ran, looking for an opportunity.

He scooped up a large rock from the ground and violently smashed it toward a cultist’s head.

Getting injured or whatever didn’t matter!!!

He wasn’t going to die anyway, so who the f*ck cares——?!!!!

Come on, let’s battle!!!!!!

The cultist who was smashed square in the face screamed and fell backward, knocking over two people behind him.

Taking advantage of these fractions of a second of chaos, Lynn just bulldozed his way through, squeezing past the gaps between the cultists.

He charged into the passage he came from, with the furious roars of the cultists surging after him again.

“He ran away!

Chase him!!!” “Catch him!

Don’t let him escape——!!!” Sob sob, I really can’t beat them, so I’ll run away first.
