“For the Emperor.” Malakim took off his helmet and answered Lancelot.

Looking at the exceptionally handsome face before him, brought about by Sanguinius’s gene-seed, Lancelot couldn’t help but sigh slightly.

Prior to this, the bearers of the Blood Angels’ gene-seed were essentially a bunch of vampires.Full novel: Warhammer: My buddy has too many secrets! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The arrival of the Primarch improved this situation, but when Sanguinius died, aside from the negative effects of the Red Thirst, the Blood Angels acquired a new genetic flaw called the Black Rage.

Yet, the Lamenters Chapter’s gene-seed unexpectedly eliminated the negative effects of the Black Rage and Red Thirst during the Cursed Founding.

They inherited the noble qualities of the Angel: friendliness to mortals and loyalty to their brothers.

They could be said to be perfect Blood Angels.

It was just that in this dogshit universe of Warhammer, good people were meant to be bullied.

Sometimes, perhaps one just needed to be as fanatical as the Dark Angels!

As Lancelot thought this, looking at the “honest” Lamenters and the sons of Sanguinius before him, he decided to get well-acquainted with them to consolidate the great friendship of Imperium Secundus!

But how should he open the conversation?

Lancelot was pondering this when an opportunity came through the vox-channel.

“Sir, the Orks’ offensive is gradually subsiding, but those Genestealers are still wreaking havoc.” For Astartes, there is nothing that can enhance mutual friendship more than combat.

Since the flames of war here had not yet been quelled, it was not yet time for idle chatter.

Lancelot nodded slightly and put his helmet on.

Malakim heard the intelligence from the vox-channel and also put his helmet on, preparing to lead the Lamenters alongside Lancelot to purge those filthy four-armed xenos.

Boom, boom, boom.

The roars of xenos came from the darkness, but for Lancelot, ever since he had appeared on the battlefield, the movement trajectories of all enemy units had already been mapped out in his mind.

The heavy iron armor launched a rapid assault through the tunnel with incomparable agility.

Before the Lamenters, Lancelot’s figure, wielding the power sword, was like a white sun smashing into a tide of xenos!

The power sword danced at high speed.

Even in the eyes of the sons of Sanguinius, no flaws could be found in his exquisitely flawless sword technique.

Under that dazzling flash of the blade, even Lamenters Chapter Master Malakim felt somewhat dumbfounded.

Lancelot’s sword technique was so adept; perhaps he was a Company Champion of the Dark Angels, or even a Chapter Champion?!

It was just unknown why the attire he wore seemed somewhat different from the current Dark Angels.

Ancient and secretive…

which branch of the Dark Angels did he belong to?

Lamenters Chapter Master Malakim thought to himself.

This was also his first time fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with a Dark Angel.

Regarding the First Legion, his understanding amounted to merely a few scattered words, only knowing that they were the first army created by the God-Emperor.

Just as the saying goes: If the Emperor wants to defeat you, he will send the Ultramarines.

If he wants to punish you, he will send the Space Wolves.

But if he doesn’t want to see you in the galaxy, then he will send the Dark Angels.

Since ancient times, the Dark Angels have been massacring and exterminating countless xenos in places humanity cannot see.

They are the Emperor’s executioners.

In legends, they are silent, efficient, and ruthlessly cold, but…

Malakim looked at Lancelot not far away.

Regarding this battle-brother fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with him, he had no intention of prying too much.

But it seemed the other party was not like the Dark Angels in the rumors.

He was powerful, and indeed ruthlessly cold toward enemies, but not so toward allies.

After the battle ends, I should still ask; at the very least, I need to know which Dark Angels faction the other party belongs to.

Malakim thought to himself.

As a Chapter Master, he had to think about more than an ordinary Space Marine did.

As a warrior, he naturally understood that in the war-torn galaxy, friendship was incredibly precious.

The Lamenters Chapter was spat upon because of their origins…

but that didn’t mean the Chapter brothers didn’t desire friendship and recognition.

Just as Lancelot had said earlier, bearing the blood of Sanguinius, they naturally hoped to bring honor to Sanguinius rather than shame.

They did not know how long they had spent in the Warp.

But now, having received the Emperor’s blessing and escaped the Warp storm, if they could gain the friendship of the Dark Angels, perhaps it could allow the Lamenters Chapter to rid themselves of the name of the cursed!

With this in mind, the Lamenters and Lancelot charged together into the ranks of those hybrid Stealers.

Lancelot’s Inviolable Domain descended, and a massive amount of information began to churn in his mind.

This domain did not directly isolate the influence of the Warp like a Blank or the Pariah Nexus of the Necrons.

Because the Warp is the projection of people’s mental aspects and human souls are deeply bound to it, actually isolating the Warp would cause psykers to go mad, and would also cause ordinary soldiers to gradually fall into madness.

But for Lancelot, the manifestation of the Inviolable Domain merely stabilized the real universe; it did not directly sever one’s connection to the Warp.

It was just that when a psyker attempted to interfere with the real world through psychic power, the domain would turn all their intentions into empty talk.

This would splash slight ripples in Lancelot’s domain, like a stone being dropped into water, practically providing him with a location lock!

Genestealers also dabbled in psychic powers.

Purestrain Stealers could use psychic powers for mind control and form a hive mind, sharing thoughts, encrypted communications, and zero-latency commands with all hybrids.

This ability was very strong, but before the Inviolable Domain, every time a Stealer attempted to command through psychic power, its position would be brightly highlighted to Lancelot.

As Lancelot intervened in the battlefield, the hybrid Stealers blankly discovered they had lost command; they could only fight individually and no longer posed any threat.

Lancelot took large strides, charging toward the unit with the strongest psychic signal at the bottom of the ship.

Although the Lamenters surrounding him didn’t know why he had such a clear target, they still followed him like a sharp knife piercing into the array of those cultists and xenos!

Thump, thump, thump!

The armor, moving at high speed, scraped against the metal floor, creating booming, piercing sounds.

With the help of the Lamenters, Lancelot rapidly closed in on that psychic signal.

As he approached, the other party finally noticed something was wrong and began attempting to flee.

But ultimately, it was a futile effort!

Its position had already been marked by Lancelot, and the accompanying Lamenters had already completed an encirclement based on that location!

That slender, deformed figure stopped abruptly while fleeing, its pupils locking onto the figure ahead.

The bright yellow battle helmet was exceptionally conspicuous; upon it, the angel wing motifs gleamed with a cold sharpness under the chill light of the emergency lamps.

Malakim’s fingertips tapped the hilt of his chainsword, and the thick weapon instantly hummed out of its sheath.

Beside him, three Lamenters formed a triangular battle formation, the sound of their bolters chambering rounds linking into one continuous noise.

But even facing such heavy preparation, that Purestrain Genestealer showed no trace of panic.

It fiercely arched its mutated body, and the sharp claws protruding from its knotty, muscular forelimbs pounced forward with a bloody wind, moving so fast it left only a grayish-black afterimage!

As a Purestrain Genestealer, its speed was exceedingly fast, its sharp claws could easily tear through a Space Marine’s armor, and the chitinous carapace on its body rendered it immune to most energy firearms.

But its sudden assault, in the eyes of the fully prepared Lamenters, was nothing more than a dying struggle!
