And just as expected, when Bran looked at the cup in his hand, his hands immediately trembled, nearly dropping the cup if he hadn’t been holding it.
“Careful, and drink it immediately,” Eli said while giving Bran a look and a signal with his hands.
Before they had even arrived at the first building that they thought was where the clinic was, Eli already warned Bran that they couldn’t eat or drink anything that the nurse or anyone would give them, so they’ll just have to fake it and make an accidental slip of their hands or other minor accident so that they won’t have to drink any medicines at all.
Bran had even worried before that they couldn’t cover it because of the presence of the nurses, but Eli had promised that he could certainly cover it so Bran just needed to pretend that he had already finished drinking. Thankfully, it seems that the nurse was currently busy, so it was easier for Eli to cover for Bran.
While standing in front of Bran to cover him from the nurse, Eli signaled Bran that he could pretend to spill the cup after drinking some with the medicine, just like what they had talked about before.
Of course, while paying attention to Bran, he was also paying attention to the nurse as he was really interested in seeing what’s in the third room.
He had backed away from the room before not only because of the nurse that was coming out of it, but also because he could feel the high level of danger inside it.
If he hadn’t felt the higher level of danger inside, which was even higher than the danger felt from the nurse, he would have continued opening the third room and continued pretending that he was looking for the nurse.
So, when Eli let go of the cup so that Bran could pretend to drink some of it and spill it afterwards, he also saw the nurse opening the third room.
As soon as the room was opened, Eli’s gaze quickly constricted as he saw a glimpse of what’s inside the room.
As soon as he caught a glimpse of what’s inside the room, he didn’t wait for Bran, who was already pretending to drink it, to finish his act and quickly held Bran’s hand to let go of the cup to the side and quickly said, “Oh, why weren’t you careful? Look, you spilled the rest of the water, you even wet your clothes. Let’s go to your locker, you need to change your clothes or you’ll get even sicker.” Enjoying the story? Then he pulled Bran up, then looked at the third room which was already being closed by the nurse and said, “Thanks for the medicine, we’ll get going, as we still have to go to the locker room.”
Then he pulled Bran out of the clinic and quickly started going to the garden where they had to meet with Ren and Sean.
“Mr. Arne, what did you see, why did you immediately spill the cup and pull me out of the clinic?”
“Nothing much, I’ll share it later when we meet Ren and Sean, but be more careful and stop asking much along the way. I saw another invisible figure there like the teacher we had in our class.”
“OK,” Bran said with a nod and stopped asking, but just followed his fast pace so that they could go to the garden.
Their one-hour time limit actually isn’t used up yet, but Eli decided that they should just go to the garden as they had already seen the clinic.
He had already seen the logbook that he wanted to check and he had even managed to see something even creepier in the third room of the clinic.
He saw more when he looked at the third room, but he didn’t share it with Bran at all because he might not even have the strength to walk back to the garden if he knew about it, so he just warned him not to talk much while they’re walking. This chapter is updated first at novelping dot com.
He only saw what was inside the third room briefly because the nurse blocked it with her body and was quickly closing the door, but even that brief glance was enough for him because his eyesight and memory had always been strong.
What he had seen inside was even creepier than all the things they had seen in the school that they were currently in.
Inside that third room which the nurse had entered, he actually saw a lot of outlines of invisible people packed together inside, not just one like what he mentioned to Bran.
And those invisible people were clearly looking at them as soon as the room was opened because he could clearly feel their gaze even if he couldn’t see them clearly.
However, they were more noticeable than the teacher they had encountered in class before because the gray lines outlining their bodies were more obvious than the faint gray that the teacher in their class had.
So even though the third room of the clinic was obviously dimmer, he still noticed a lot of them packed inside.
If it’s just those packed invisible people inside then it isn’t that creepy at all, but aside from them he also saw some of the expressionless students standing side by side inside with their blank gazes and with missing body parts like hands, eyes, etc.
And on the patient bed that he could see, he also saw a student with a blank gaze with a hand that seemed to be being attached to him, as Eli could still see some threads in it.
But what makes it terrifying is that Eli recognized that student as one of the students he saw going to the gym just this early morning when he arrived at the school with Sean.
They only walked past them just a few hours ago, so Eli could clearly remember what the student looked like even though they just passed by.
