Eli was about to refute what Ren said, but he suddenly thought of something and glared at Ren.
“Hey, you didn’t exchange my name with others just to supervise me, right?”
“And what if I did? I know you’re just going to coast along, even though you clearly have the ability to do more. It’s already your final year; just work a bit harder.”
“The hell! What do you think you’re doing? So what if I just want to coast along? What’s wrong with just putting in my minimal effort? It has nothing to do with you!”
“You can obviously do even better. Why are you too lazy to work hard just a little more? With just a little more effort from you, you can easily surpass others by a large margin. But now, your performance is just only a bit higher than the average performance of a lot of people. With that smart brain that you have, you certainly didn’t even think much of the things that you had been doing.”
“Just like I said, my performance has nothing to do with you!”
“Oh, it certainly has. I’ve been helping you since we were children because you always managed to coax my parents into demanding that I have to help you. I had been helping you until last year with a lot of your schoolwork, but your rating would still be just a bit above average. Isn’t that just wasting my years of effort?”
“What effort are you even talking about? You can obviously do those things easily.”
“Yes, I did all those things easily, and you can obviously do it too, but you had to demand my help so that you didn’t have to do anything at all. So, now that you’re in your final year, I’ll supervise you so that you can do better.”
“Hmph,” Eli stood up and planned to go out of Ren’s office.
“Where do you plan to go?”
“I’m going to the office and complain about changing my CT.”
“Oh, unfortunately, our names are already submitted, and the papers have already been signed by the principal. It’s probably also already sent to your professors. If you want to bother the principal and other teachers over such a minor thing, you’re free to do so.” Visit novelping.com for the full chapter.
“Damn you!” Eli just cursed, but didn’t continue going out because he really didn’t want to bother people over such a thing, especially since it was already signed.
He’ll have to think of a proper reason why he had to change CTs and other things, which is bothersome because they certainly won’t agree if there’s no valid reason at all.
“Oh, I almost forgot to mention that according to your university and the management, your CT this sem would be the same for your next semester, so you’ll be under me even in your second semester,” Ren said with a smile, which was very annoying.
“Screw you!” Eli said and threw a punch at Ren’s face, which Ren also caught easily.
So, he threw another punch, but it was still caught in Ren’s palm again.
Eli planned to kick him, but Ren quickly pulled him forward, so he didn’t manage to kick, but stumbled onto Ren’s thigh.
Ren also quickly held both of his hands behind his back while saying, “Okay, stop it and don’t continue getting physical. We still have to go to our classes later on.”
Eli knew that Ren was right, so he didn’t bother struggling from Ren’s hold, but he was still frustrated, so he bit Ren’s shoulder that was in front of him.
“Hiss, are you a dog? Let go,” Ren said as he let go of the hands that he had been holding and tapped his head for him to let go, but Eli didn’t immediately let go and bit him harder instead.
“Eli, that’s enough.”
“What? You’re clearly at fault, and I’m not even allowed to vent my anger?” Eli said after letting go of Ren’s shoulder.
“Okay, okay, you’re allowed to. Now, get up. How long are you planning to sit on my lap?”
“By the way, what time is your first class?”
“My first class would be at 9 a.m.”
“So, we still have time to talk. Now that we’ve met, let’s talk about our engagement, as my mom kept urging me to go home for our marriage,” Eli said, quickly forgetting his previous anger as he thought of talking about something more serious.
Of course, he would certainly think of a way to get back at Ren later on, but now that he couldn’t do anything yet, it was better to talk about something more important that they had to talk about later anyway.
Since they had time then, it was better to finish talking than to postpone it for later.
“Yes, my parents were also urging me about it, especially my mom, that’s why I haven’t gone home since your 18th birthday. I heard you also didn’t go home afterwards.”
“Yeah. They had even wanted to have our marriage the day I turned 18. Thankfully, we managed to dodge it by saying that we’ll celebrate my birthday first. I already had a hard time dealing with mom at that time, so I certainly don’t want to go home. She’s been planning on coming to visit me several times, so I even had to think of various reasons so that she won’t come here at all. I even had to pay for my older sister’s and younger sister’s several shopping sprees just so they could help me keep mom there.”
“Thankfully, both of my parents were busy; that’s why they haven’t had time to visit me here personally.”
“Good for you,” Eli said with envy, as Ren didn’t have to worry about finding a lot of reasons to keep his parents from visiting.
“By the way, you have to reimburse half of the money I used for my sisters’ shopping sprees every time they foil my mother’s plan to come here, as it’s about preventing our marriage anyway.”
